Nappoglia: Land of Clouded Dilemma
      #626386 - Sat Oct 20 2007 12:16 PM

Nappoglia was at a distant corner of The Dream. A large piece of land surrounded on one side by a ridiculously high mountain range and the other by a deep, dangerous ocean, this section of land was always in turmoil by the waves of weather. Flooding rains came in from the ocean's north and were derailed by the peaks in the south. This left the entire vaste area in low-hanging clouds and frequent drizzles. Despite this, the land was indeed large and beautiful; patches of forest full of tall foliage, large ravines, open lush plain lands in the east, and incredibly powerful streams trailing from the mountains which snaked over Nappoglia like a large hand of wicked fingers. There were even two small, quaint towns. One was out in the plains, the other near the ocean.

Because Mt Viras was too tall for any creature to fly over and the Ghost Ocean was too viscious to sail in, there was only one path to reach this land: A portal made by magi in the plains town.

The small town, itself, was named Fredrick Village - the ocean, sister town being called Port Kathrine. Fredrick Village only had at most six houses, a dirt path, a town pub, and a large statuesk fountain in the center of a black cat goddess standing over and pouring water into a large dish with a well-sculpted pitcher. Of the six houses, the largest was 250,000 square feet, belonging to Fredrick - a mage. He was more than likely the one who constructed the portal leading in and out of town. This portal was a large gate coming out of the wall of Fredrick's home, leading avatars off a porch and to face the fountain. The other end of the portal, which was previously unmentioned, could be found in various towns outside of Nappoglia. Whoever steps into it through one of these outside towns would more than likely come back to that town if they stepped back through the portal. Though it's not like that would matter considering this rp will only remain in Nappoglia.

This day was not all too different from any others. It was midday, the sun was blanketed by dreary clouds, and rain whisked across the forest patches to the west. In Fredrick Village, home owners were closing their windows and doors in preparation of a coming storm. A radio on the window sill of the pub talked about this approaching bad weather, how fast the wind was heading, who would be effected, and generally what a weather radio station is paid to forecast.

While villagers returned to their homes, one particular human - a Japanese woman with long black hair dressed in heavy green robes - sat on the edge of the fountain's dish. She appeared soaked even when the storm was yet to hit the area. A sheathed sword in her hands. Her eyes glaring down at a small orange tabby who sat before her, watching intently right back.

At the base of the porch, near to the portal, another downtrodden figure sat atop a slightly large violin case. The imp had not come through purpose, more of out of force. Being pushed through a portal quite roughly and tumbling off of said porch only the better part of an hour ago, he had a few choice words to spew out. Many people didn't understand demonic, however. So, there he sat, scowling just to himself, the smoke from four cigarettes clenched between his teeth lifting to float out from under the brim of his fedora hat. There was almost no way he was going back through that awful vortex anytime soon so the contemplation was on one of two things. Was he going to find shelter, or was he going to take refuge in alcohol.

Near the fountain there was a discarded wooden crate, partially hidden in a shaded corner. Nothing was out of the ordinary of this particular crate until a strong gust of wind came howling, bringing with it the heavy scent of rain.

A pathetic and quite loud whimper came from the crate's source. Red eyes opened and seemed to glow quite brightly through one of the openings. Another gust of wind came and another yelp of fear was heard. This time the wooden box scurried further back into the shadowed area.

What a way to get jipped from a deal. Stuck in an unfamilar place without getting paid all with a storm rolling in. It sounds about right to hightail it out of there. She takes a moment to make sure she's pack all of her gear that she brought. Everything checks out and she's on her way to the portal when suddenly a creeping growl leaps from her gut. Maybe she should stay awhile to find someplace to eat.

For the meantime there could be some food in one of her satchel. Finding an abandoned crate she sits down if no one else seems to care. Then she digs into one of her bags looking for the last bit of food that she brought with her. It'll still be a hike from the portal on the other side to the Parhelion. At last she finds the last tomato that she brought with and raises it to her mouth.

Rell's observation of the area to further decide his objective didn't yield much in the way of results. Aside from the pub, every other building looked like a random home. There were no inns in this village short of Fredrick's mansion; and it was unlikely that you could gain passage there without knowing him in some way or otherwise being a slave. This gave the assumption that either most travelers who came here knew ahead of time where they were going to stay, or that the inn was in the Port town of Kathrine a day's walk away. The only building welcoming enough in Fredrick Village was the pub, and even it seemed a tad obvious in who it welcomed and who it wouldn't. A large sign with a fish on it hung over the pub.

Another thing the cancerous imp would notice was that most of the populace that called this place home were a cat or generally felineous in nature. There were regular cats, cat anthros, humans with cat ears and tails, and even a cat 'taur. Most of whom were, of course, locking up in preparation for the storm.

This topic comes back to the small orange tabby sitting infront of the cat goddess fountain, looking up with a feline smile at the japanese woman in green robes - who still held a long, curved, sheathed sword protectively. The cat flicked its ear and finally spoke its mind.

"Hi! Are you new? Welcome to The Dream!" The tabby grinned.

A vein popped up on Amethyst's forehead. She unsheathed her tachi (the sword) and swung it at the cat - much to the surprise of anyone else around the fountain. Like, for example, Meridian who decided at that moment to sit on a vibrating crate near the same monument. The cat ran away with a yeowl and irratic tail width, though it was never hurt in the confrontation. Ame roared out in a deep voice, "Why does every idiot I come across ASK me that!? I've been in this nightmare for four [censored] years!" The sword wavered as the woman hyperventilated in her rage at the unexpected (and meta-gaming; ie, Rule Breaking) question.

Regardless of Fairweather's response to the outburst, the crate she was sitting on whined, yelped, and ran out from under her. The animated wooden box proceeded to skuttle further from the fountain and more towards Rell's shadowed porch of the mansion.

Thunder boomed in the distance. The ground vibrated gently from its anger.

Looking up when the woman had her outburst, he just wheezed out another cloud of smoke, coughing once before standing. Perfect place for a visit. Hefting up the violin case, he began to move, looking towards the crate. If it came near him the imp would wind his leg back and lash out, all intentions pointed to kicking the crate away. Seems more than one person around here was in a less than jolly mood. Sucking in more fumes with each breath, he rounded the fountian, but he still stayed out of reach of the woman with the sword. "If ya've been 'ere for'a while could ya do me a favor an' point me in the direction a'tha next town." He looked as bitter at the situation as she was.

The whining crate(as she was affectionately known as for the moment) did not bother to notice that a person was using her as a quite comfortable seat before she bolted off further into a patch of shadows.

A terrible thunder crashed violently. The crate jumped about a good few feet into the air before landed within feet from where Rell stood. An ugly tail with a nail embedded at it's tip slipped through one of the holes the crate possessed and thrashed about violently.

"No water no water no water... water bad.. no water!" the whining voice mumbled in a tone of a kitten without her mother.

Red eyes were now peering at Rell while the crate vibrated violently. A sight that would be threatening to most people if that saw it.

Another loud crash of thunder came.

"AIEEEE!!"

The crate suddenly jumped into the air once again, but separated from the contents.... Which would happen to he a hideously thin feline girl with a key lodged in her back. The crate flew backwards as Nyxia leaped forward with all limbs stretched out, whining loudly, and ready to cling viciously to the first thing she touched. Unfortunately with the direction she was heading, that thing would be Rell

Having arrived some time earlier, the drey was just rounding the edge of the village, returning toward the fountain.

Even with the approaching storm the curious dragonish creature had a cheerful gait as she padded along the dusty path. Her ever glimmering pelt only seemed to have a light misting. Clearly she hadn't wandered terribly far.

Her attention was caught by the yeowls of the fleeing cat if only briefly. She took notice of the handful of creatures remaining outside despite the coming storm. A smile struct her face as she closed the remaining gap of space between herself and the fountain and addressed the small gathering.

"Isn't the rain delightful?"

Cats, all the more reason she should leave. She hated cats but not all cats just the ones that wanted to fight with her. The flashy sword display didn't really suprise her, odds were that Ame hated cats too. If the crate was vibrating when she sat down then she thought it was a massage crate or something. When her seat decided to hightail it out of there unexpectedly she fell forward right on the tomato.

Now crushed in between the mud and her clothes, she thought about whether or not it was safe to eat it. After all it was the last bit of food that she had. Its starting to rain, there's thunder and lightening, and she's hungry. What else could go wrong with this failed job?

There's two people near the fountain right now. One's got a sword that she wouldn't mind swinging mindlessly at people. Asking her for food is definitely out of the question. But the other one looks like a con mark if she ever saw one. If she can't get food from the other then maybe a lift to somewhere that does?

Nope, odds are the crazy lady with the sword will slice and dice the transportation before she even gets a chance to ask for a ride. Which leaves no options but to head back to Port Katherine. Or she could break into that rich guy's mansion and raid the pantry. But there is a small problem with breaking the law and getting her merc license revoked which means she won't be able to get a job and have to be a theif the rest of her life.

She'll take the off chance that the mansion's owner is a nice guy and seeing a poor defenseless woman out in the storm and pity her enough to feed and shelter her. Right like she's that good of an actress. She takes the chance anyway and heads right up to the front door or the one most likely to be answered. She looks around for a door bell or pull chain to summon the hired help.

A young woman with white-blonde, blue-streaked hair steps out from the door of the pub, glancing wistfully at the sky. She had come to Frederick Village simply because it promised a change of scenery from the numerous towns and villages in the Dream proper. She wanted something more isolated, so when she came across a town with a portal professing that it led to this place, she had stepped inside with some reservations, hoping it really was what it claimed to be.

Now that she was here, she realized that there was not much to see in the town itself. But that suited her, in a way. The plains were beautiful and peaceful, and the few townsfolk she had met seemed to welcome a traveling musician. As the storm nears on the horizon, she considers going back inside, the sensible thing to do. But until the rain picks up, Melenna finds she wouldn't mind standing under a drizzle, especially now that she had bought a full leather case for the harp hanging from her waist-sash.

Several outbursts from people who are most likely other travelers, judging by their non-feline appearances, jolt her from her reverie, and seconds later a clap of thunder makes her jump slightly. *Bad idea to stay out here....* Not seeking to get involved in what looks like a couple of strange arguments, she turns around and walks back into the pub, sighing softly. She would have liked a bit more fresh air.....

The cold winds picked up, undoubtedly rustling clothing and sending the blue-streaked hair of Melenna into a frenzy the second that she stepped outside the quaint pub. On first appearance, her continued experience in the pub was going to definitely be more pleasant than her experience outside of it - what with a psychotic sword woman swinging at everyone and a rabid cat-crate exploding to maul the nearest imp. This isn't even bringing up the poor, unfortunate drey happily trotting into this mess to uncertain doom. Why, even a nearby human had blood all over her clothes. It looked like an attack.

So everything made perfect sense when the musician turned right back around and stepped right back inside. The bartender, a large lion anthro named Greg, greeted her with a nod.

Of course everything wasn't as it appeared. The blood on Meridian's clothes was tomato and she stood up fine to continue on her mission to the mansion. Ame hasn't even started slashing at anyone with exception of the escapist ginger cat. She continued to stand there angrily. Fhina, while it looked like she was walking in danger, was at the moment safe form it. The crate exploding into an emaciated cat person and mauling Rell? Well, that did happen for the most part; Being too far away from Rell's attempted kick to happen, Nyxia instead bounced into the air at the thunder's aftershock, burst forth from her wooden binds, and landed directly on Rell's violin case with claws unfurled while the imp casually walked on to Ame. While Nyxia left Rell directly unscathed, her weight was something he was going to have to contend with.

Either way, Rell did manage to get out his inquired favor about the next town to Ame before it happened. The battle-worn human in green glared angrily at him, pointed her sword to him, started to reply with something absolutely cencored from this thread, and paused short with a surprised expression before stepping back to avoid getting in conflict with the falling Nyxia (now on Rell's violin case.)

Meanwhile, Poor Fhina stated her observation to Meridian, but was blatantly ignored when the human walked off to the mansion in her own thoughts. This left the feathered avatar exposed to trouble as Amethyst backed away from Rell and Nyxia into her. With an umph and a curse, Ame spung around and now paid attention to Fhina with a wavering, sharp, large, two-handed sword in grip. Standing up straight and defensively, the woman roared out, "And what the [censored] do you want!? I [censored] Said I've been here for 4 damn [censored] years!"

Without giving much time for a reply, Amethyst caught Melenna's exit from the corner of her vision, glanced over, noticed the bar was now open to people, and turned abruptly to go that direction. Should noone stop Amethyst, she'd more than likely storm to the pub... Still slashing the tachi through the air in her anger.

Thunder continued in the distance, and the area looked more miserable despite the activity. However as of yet there is no rain in the town nor lightning at all. Oh sure, there's rain to the plains in the west still. There will probably be rain in the town eventually. Now is not that time.

At the mansion, Meridian knocked the door. It was a long wait before someone answered it, opening an eye-slit and peering at her through felinious pupils. "What do you want?"

From inside, someone shouted out, "Who is it, Abigail?"

Abby looked Fairweather over, turned back to the inside, and said, "It looks like a begger or another one of those human, demon, vampire, whatnot bounty hunters."

"Are they a mage?"

... "No, they aren't wearing robes."

"Then ignore them. Master Fredrick doesn't have to deal with beggars."

There was a sigh, the eye-slit closed, and Meridian Fairweather was left out in the cold winds and approaching storm without any chance to get a word in edgewise.

She figured as much would happen though when they mentioned that she wasn't a mage, an idea sparks into her head. Not that she possesses any magic skills but her manitou armor could look convincingly like magic armor. Takes a moment to use Whiteshell since if they were to send out the dogs or some such she'd be able to switch to Blueshell. Rings the doorbell again, this time covered in ice looking like a statue of the woman who was just standing there.

If this doesn't work then the pub seems to be the only thing left to go but with the crazy lot there she'd take her chances once again into the mansion. She's not going to back down so easily. Preparing for the same dismissive nature she allows herself to give off a faint icy mist as if to show that she's some sort of ice mage. Then again if that fails she could always try a third time with Blueshell.

Stumbling just in time, call it his luck, that little thing did land on his violin case. Leaving it for the moment, as he was fairly sure that the cat thing couldn't get in it, and even if it did, the imp was doubtfull that she would be able to assemble and load what was in it. Looking back to the woman he'd asked directions from, greeting with the tip of a sword and some not so kind words, the imp was quick to react. Taking a step back and quickly drawing out the revolver that was under his shoulder, he thumbed back the hammer, snarling with yellowed teeth, smoke filtering out from the disgusting number of cigarettes he was smoking. Now it was his turn to snarl out somthing less than savory, though it was fast paced and in the demonic tounge. It would be rather obvious, though, that what ever he said was somthing terribly insulting, calling them at her back while she stalked towards the bar. Then he turned, gun still in hand, marching back towards the violin case, "'Ey! Get'offa there!" waving the gun at the cat thing, reaching out with his other hand to try and grab the handle so that he could heft the case up under his arm.

Fhina's spirits were not damped though her question went unanswered. Truthfully it didn't really require an answer. She was caught off guard though as she found herself at the business end of yet another bladed weapon. She seemed to find herself in such a position quite often.

She started to apologize but was interrupted by the angry woman's outburst. Her ears flatten back as she follows the woman's path with her eyes.

"Quite the angry sort that one.."

Spying the strange actions of Meridian, the drey pads slowly over to the porch though she stops a short ways back, siting on her haunches with her head cocked, watching Meridian from behind. Obviously the drey was very curious as to what the girl was doing.

Nyxia remained vigilant at her post on his violin case. She lifted her arms and one leg, tipping to one side as she dodge the swing or his his gun. The feline then hopped quickly on the other foot, not noticing that he reach of the handle located underneath her. It was quickly yanked form where her one foot was keeping balance and she tumbled backwards a few feet in a bizarre cartwheel.

"NO water!" She whined before finally landing on her boney rear.

The windup glared Rell and gave quite the annoyed hiss until she noticed the open door to the pub just behind him.

"NO water!" She happily screeched and contorted her thin form in a four-legged position. Both her feet and hands were pounding against the town's streets as she ran quickly in a direction that would take her through Rell and to the Pub.

Meridian Fairweather could wait there all night if she wanted to; after her first appearance, even despite the glowy snowy effect she gave off - which put a nice icy look to the mansion door she was close to - no one came back to the door. Even the eye-slit on the door was untouched. There was talk from beyond, though most of it was about mopping a certain floor and mouse dinner for Master Fredrick. Fhina came away from the fountain to her and sat there, watching. It must have been at least mutually entertaining to watch the woman trying to gain entrance with all of her magic tricks.

Amethyst stormed her way to the pub, not mindful of much. She was still pissed and irked at random things (such as specific jerk-off cats that can't be the normal meowing variety.) The long, curved sword still wavering angrily in left hand. Rell swore off at her in imp, or at least something distinctly like imp, and while the Japanese woman didn't know the language at all, nor that it was even cursing, she got pissed that he talked back to her at all. She swung around to swear something back towards him a second time, maybe even challenge him, and was met with a sprinting mess of emaciation.

By now, if it wasn't previously obvious, Nyxia had successfully detached from Rell's case and sprinted towards the pub. Ame wasn't quite there yet and was taken off guard by the paw-flinging feline toy. She jumped, sprang around to see Nyxia burst into the pub, and blinked.

Oh, that's right: the pub was still there. Ame could still use some mead. That re-decided, she spat over her shoulder at Rell, "Screw off." Before storming into the bar.

The inside of the bar was pleasant. Mel was still presumably in there, there was one cloaked panther anthro in the corner, and the barkeep was still behind the counter. The barkeep was still as tall and ruley as they come. Cleaning his glass, he watched Nyxia sprint in without much care. But it was Ame that he placed the glass down and took action against.

Before Rell gets into the establishment or even meander off elsewhere, there was a racket inside. "The [censored]!?" Ame roared from inside. She was then unceremoniously thrown back out to taste the ground outside. Her sword was tossed out next and the burly lion bartender stepped out partially, pointed at a 'No Trouble' sign written next to the door, and stepped back in. Nyxia was still left alone through all of this somehow.

It was then that it started to rain. It was a mild drizzle, but enough to be cold and annoying.

A large shadow came over both Fhina and Meridian. It hung there impressively 'til one of them took notice. Something standing well over 10 feet watched them through three glowing silver eyes. It was made of machinery for the most part, in the presumed general body of a feline of some variety. What was easily and most noticeable was that this bot was absolutely littered in weaponry: from the large cannons that make up arms to the rocket launcher strapped over its back. Painted, or perhaps burned, over its bronze chasey of a chest were the words 'I HUNT' in unfriendly letters.

It watched them in silence, with exception to the random gears under the armor that ground. Eventually steam discharged from a pipe on its right shoulder as it lifted up a rocket arm. Two metallic fingers ejected from underneath it, holding a wanted poster with Amethyst on it. She had an impressive bounty and a list of crimes so long that the rest were written on the back of the paper. Even so, the machine didn't let the poster go. From the ebbs deep in its presumed head, the monstrosity ground out, "Have you seen this flesh occupance? Are you working along side? Grave misfortune should you fail to reply" The other arm raised to expose the second gun arm, which only looked even more formidable and cold with the mist of rain bouncing off it.

The drey was rather startled as her attention was thusly and throughly grasped by the mechanical creature. The various firearms made her nervous as she always has seemed to find herself on the unfriendly end of them. She turned around and attempted to smile in a friendly manner even with the intimidating manner of the bot.

When it produced the poster and asked about the whereabouts of the person in question, Fhina was confused. Something told her to do the right thing and tell the truth. Something else told her that things were not always as they seemed and it might not be best to tell the truth just yet.

The Drey then spoke.

"That does look like that one rather angry creature. I recall seeing her here at this water statue but I do belive I failed to notice in what direction she was headed. Quite the loud one that one was.. I don't imagine it would be terribly difficult to find such an outspoken fellow."

The drey bowed her head respectfully before continuing.

"My appologies I could not, myself, be of any further help."

The little cat...toy...thing rushed him, knocked him down and proceeded to the pub. Picking himself up, cursing and muttering in that language of his under his breath, he brushed the dirt from his pants and vest, snarling in an angry tone, looking at his cigarettes on the ground. None of them were worth salvaging. Still grumbling, he hefted up the case once more, watching Amethyst get thrown out as he headed towards the pub. Somehow, he managed to hold his tounge from saying somthing to the effect of 'serves you right', opting for silence as he made his way towards the doors of the building itself with the distinct hope that such a fate wouldn't befall him as well. He didn't look like much trouble, in fact, he looked like he NEEDED a drink. As he reached out to push the doors open he looked over his shoulder to the machine/thing talking. In truth, he didn't really care anymore. All he knew was that this place was full of people that were either way to sugary sweet or the polar opposite of cold hearted and cruel. Already he missed the way things were back home. Back where he came from it didn't matter if you saw a guy from a rival family on the streets, they weren't in it for some vendetta, everything was just business.

Yeah it probably wasn't going to work anyway. She drops all prentense of gaining entry and spots Fhina, only to eyeball her menacingly before getting jumped by a walking battle fortress. At first she thinks that its the guard dog but when it puts up the wanted poster it all starts to click. Somebody is in a lot of trouble with the law which means a job opening for her. Sure there's not many clues as to where this person might be but when Fhina speaks up about seeing the woman earlier she gets a mischevious smile on her face.

Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all even it if its knee deep in the cat fur. She wants to take the poster with her to find out more information and make sure its legit. Seeing as how the moving armory isn't intent on helping the either of them she doesn't even bother asking it for the poster. In her crude and cheerful way she gives the bucket head a reply by creating a speech bubble covered in smiles and flowers.

"Hey, Bolts Short of a Few Nuts, why don't you go over there and look. I'm pretty sure she went that way."

Naturally Meridian is pointing in the opposite direction of the bar, in fact she's pointing at the road that leads straight out of town. When dealing with competition, lie, cheat, beg, or steal whatever is necessary to get them out of the way then you can claim the bounty. And besides if it decides to throw down here a now she can run while the local felines handle a rampaging steam machine.

As soon as Nyxia reached inside the bar, she quite unceremoniously dives and head first into that wooden floor and rolls until a loud thud comes from one corner of the main room.

Her face met with the bottom leg of a table quite roughly. And whoever chose to sit in that unfortunate table most likely had their drink and their meal spill on the floor if not on themselves.

The feline quickly shakes her head, flips her body around and pokes her head out from underneath the table just as Amethyst was rudely shown the door. At that precise moment, a wooden bowl neatly placed on a shelf near the ceiling falls off and plops on Nyx's head.

She did not seem to take much notice of her new helmet that flattened her large ears over either side of her head. Her only concern, it seems, was the phrase she happily chirped as she bounces around the room, much to the annoyance of the patrons.

"NOOOOOOOO Water! No water No water! No waaaaaaaaaaaaaater!"

She scampers up to the window located next to the door as Rell approached. The freakishly overjoyed toy proceeded to grin through the window at him, even goes so far as to lick the window's glass.

Mr. Robot (at least presumed to be male from the gutteral robot voice) first listened to Fhina, then towards Meridian. Random images blinked over the three visual orbs, most likely mathematical equations. More steam peeled away from the exhaust pipe at his shoulder, and while it was impossible to tell actual emotional cues, it was easy to assume he was not amused. Here a dragon-like symbiont gestured vocally towards the fountain while another ice-bound being with the pheromone signature of an adult human female pointed another direction. It was easy to surmise through the politeness of one and rude dictionary of the other who was and was not truthful. Also at a factor to tell this truth from lie decision was the vocal patterns of both. Living crap, an npc weaponry unit bot that's smart. Who saw that one coming?

A random T lever pivoted on the opposing shoulder as it gestured a gun towards Fhina. "Thank you for general hospitality, creature type unknown." His guns unwound from their attack posture and the wanted poster was returned to its original position. The bot crouched down - at least everyone present can assume it was a crouch - to see Fhina better. "Caution advised: Dream criminal #2229, Amethyst poses a threat. If seen, report."

He, that is the robot, returns to an assumed standing position. The rain lightened up to a light misting, which gave his metallic surface a reflective gleam. It scanned both Fhina and Meridian one more time and thereafter stated something out of the ordinary, "I lack the proper functioning code to track the DNA imprint of apes, only identify when necessary. I need further assistance." Now his attention went completely to Meridian to that point that three flashing lights from the eyes shined on her being, as if to get the point across that she was the said assistance.

Ame, meanwhile, continued eating dirt as Rell walked by unabaited. Two pub patrons left before he could enter, quite annoyed at something inside.

Nyxia continued to reep the rewards of being out of the rain: knocking over furnature, throwing meals this way and that, prancing around like a kitten with yarn. Seeing his business fall due to this mess, not to mention that one of his customers gave him a nasty glare before departing with his fiance, Greg the barkeep put down the cleaning cloth, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to take out the trash.

The imp gets into the bar after the two leave. But while the door is re-opened, a shadow of a ragged feline is tossed over him back into the streets with a heave. The bartender stood in front of Rell, temporarily barring entrance, as he removed the new troublemaker (Nyxia) from the pub. Brushing his hands, he walked back inside. Maybe it was Rell's smaller size that had him looked over in this act, or maybe it was erratic fortune, but nothing else should hypothetically get in his way of making it all the way in once Greg returns to his post behind the counter.

Amethyst meanwhile got up, brushed herself off, retrieved her sword from the ground, sheathed it, and glared at her now dirty green robes. Bloody well she wasn't expecting to get thrown out of a place with alcohal, more or less like that. What ever happened to her good olde times in Japan at Reiji's sake shoppe? Honestly... This Nightmare sucked.

Oh, but it was only going to get worse. She looked up and saw the robot hassling Meridian and Fhina quite a ways off near the mansion. And it didn't take a genius to remember someone like that. "Ah crap." But soon it could be too late and she'd have to go back into hiding. She turned to head back into the bar... To get a face-full of Nyxia.

Ame fell backwards, back onto the cold, wet ground.

Great, now she's the robot's guide, well it looks like she's going to have to give the iron steam ball the slip. Better switch to Blueshell just in case the walking armory decides to fight her before she can lose it. The icy exterior slowly bubbles to a cool blue which then ripples like water. Now what to do with the soon to be walking scrap pile. She could dump it over a cliff but it'd probably survive the fall. It could rust into inoperation but that'd take way too long. Simply removing the steam might work unless it has back up systems.

So it looks like she'll have to think of something else and just lead it around until she does. She turns around and starts to walk off in the direction that she pointed at. If anything the trail will get cold and she'd have to starting looking for clues herself. Ame isn't going anywhere the portal is still the only entrance/exit for right now. Her best chances of catching her is to come back here and watch the portal before Ame makes her getaway.

The feline's hasty exit left her a little stunned. All her limbs were stretched out in every direction and bent in quite awkward angles. As for the rest her herself, her tail was rigid ans stood up straight in the air while her concaved abdomen made a nice covering for Ame's face..

"Something seems amiss, dear Watson" She murmurs quietly while the pitter-patter of rain drums against her newly acquired helmet(or bowl as commonly know to the rest of the world). That is when Nyxia tilts her head upward and a few drops of steady rain hit her nose.

There suddenly comes the sound of a very loud screech that should be quite easy to hear inside and nearby the pub. Nyxia, then in a desperate frenzy, tries the grab and crawl under the first thing she reach for which unfortunately would probably be a very cheesed off Amethyst.

"WATER BAD! NO WATER! NO NO NO!" She continues to whine while attempting to hide inside the woman's robes... ANYTHING to keep away from the rain.

Well, at least a few things were looking up for him. As the cat thing flew over his head he could just stand there for a moment, letting it all sink in. Finally, he managed to compose himself, turning his head and spitting the cigarette butts out onto the ground before making his move. Pushing open the doors, he wouldn't give the place much of a look over, he would just search for the bar. Lugging his case up to it, he would set the violin case up against the bar before clambering up on a stool infront of it, waiting to get noticed by the tender. "Anythin' strong..please." he almost pleaded with the burling looking feline that ran the joint, slumping just a little and thanking his good fortunes that he was almost sure he didn't have. When he first arrived in this world he thought he'd found paradise, now he was almost sure he was stuck between heaven and Hell.

(Note - as is custom, if you can not longer participate in a thread or simply loose interest, it's polite to PM the gm and tell them so. Therefore they aren't waiting or screwed over when you disappear with no word. I'm cool if you go on a short T-day vacation or something, but dropping out without saying anything is just plain rude in the end. This, of course, does not count for the GM of the thread, as it is their thread and their right to hold the thread for however long as necessary - especially if something unexpected comes up.

On another note, if you know of anyone else who'd like to rp in the thread, please have them join.)

Ame laid there, in the mud. This was not uncommon for the woman as she's been kicked out of places before due to disputes or general alcoholic tendencies. She took one, solemn, deep breath. It was when she felt something crawling around between her inner and outer robes that the Japanese woman startled herself into getting back up. She quickly batted at the large blob in her clothes frenzingly, walking around in a panic like it was a hive of bees or something.

The psychotic dance of the wanted one was impossible to miss from Meridian's point of view. However Rell could have easily missed it all from inside the bar. Greg, the lion bartender, pulled out some strong, authentic vodka and quietly poured a shot glass. Many of his patrons left after Nyxia scrambled around the place with the annoyance of a rabid rodent. If he had to put up with the company of a devil child, so be it... So long as they paid.

"So what brings you to Nappoglia?" Greg asked in his rough voice; a voice that easily resembled a chain smoker, even though he wasn't one by the smell of cat dander and smooth liquor about him. He didn't seem completely interested, keeping his green feline eyes at the door for either Nyxia or Ame to reenter - or some third troublemaker he's yet to encounter.

Meanwhile, Meridian was going to be standing there a while during the time that the robot considered this proposal. It's only lucky for her that the mechanical annoyance was facing away from Ame's outside tavern freak out. Its attention completely on the bounty hunter and nowhere near the bounty hunted to pose immediate concern.

Finally, with the computer equivalent of a sigh, the bot gestured down the road Meridian suggested. "Affirmative." Before escorting her in that direction.

Amethyst finally reached into her robe and pulled Nyxia out by the back of the neck. To see it was a cat and not some rabid tanuki was surprise enough, but no more than she was use to. "What do you want and why the [censored] were you in my clothes.." Her glare deepened. "Are you a thief?" She found her sword mindlessly and shook it. "If not, explain why the [censored] you were in my clothes." Pissed off would not begin to express Amethyst's anger.
