The Great Bonus Card Race [Welcome Avatars 101-115]
      #12675 - Mon Dec 31 2001 02:20 PM

THE GREAT BONUS CARD RACE
(Round 1 of 15)

Sportscasting by
Furilius Pitch

The stadium is packed with fans ready to cheer on their favorite avatars gathered on the track. There's 28 of them out there folks, and each one is determined to win that coveted bonus card. Who will it be?

Check out the newly refurbished "Big Board" is in the center of the field. That's where the new Psychedelic Avatar cards will be broadcast.

Okay, the officials are lining the avatars up for the race. All but four are bunched together at the start line. Silvermoon, Kit Kannady and James Orcist Rayner are given a five-yard advantage for their early participation. And the tiny Makai, fully recovered from her recent pregnancy (we hope), is led out front with a full 10-yard advantage for being the very first to post her predictions.

The Big Board is lighting up...and...there's a LOUD EXPLOSION and the avatars are off! The Boards reveals none other than the explosive Killfrenzy! What a way to start this race with a bang!

The Ibizan hound, Tessa sprints with stunning speed and covers 15 yards. That lady must really be eager for a card! But what is this? Not to be outdone, "Tigerboy" Jayce Toranosai covers equal distance and the two are neck and neck in 1st Place.

About half of the runners were expecting Killfrenzy's arrival, but just not this early. They still manage to cover 10 yards and are bumping elbows in 2nd Place. The rest are stunned by the revelation of the first avatar and cover no ground.

Which avatar card will appear next and who will lead the race? Find out Tuesday and keep tuning in every weekday!

OOOh... Nice! And Wicked too! So, KF, are you excited? Did you think you'd be the first to get your card?

Yeah, go explosion-boy! I didn't know you were a blue wolf. Hey, cards come in handy for that sort of thing. Oh well, that's minus one point for me, though. I also got the idea that he didn't want a card.

THE GREAT BONUS CARD RACE
(Round 2 of 15)

Sportscasting by
Furilius Pitch

A shrill crackle erupts from the loudspeaker and all in the stadium hear the words:

"If any of you pathetic creatures wish to challenge me, go right ahead!"

The following image appears
on the Big Board:

Signature Code:

The avatars appear stunned! How could a creature so vile, so arrogant, so evil, so reminiscent of "Dragonball-Z" be awarded an avatar card?!

But Kensaro The Sunbeam Cheetah predicted Beshrom's arrival and races forward to catch up with Tessa and Jayce Toranosai at the 15-yard mark. But wait just a second! Yes, just a 2nd Place is where they are at.

For lo and behold, a black cloak blocks the sun and drapes over the trio's foreheads as the white tiger, Donevan Blake leaps over and lands into 1st Place

Tune in tomorrow for the latest avatar card and race updates!

Aaaahhh, Killfrenzy and Beshrom. Great cards, more than that, a great way to simbolize the peace, union and understandment we want on this new year.

Or let's just forget it and have some fun.
Great cards, congrats to the artists and players.

By the way, I'm doomed in this race.

THE GREAT BONUS CARD RACE
(Round 3 of 15)
Sportscasting by
Furilius Pitch

Cell phones across the stadium are beeping uncannily in unison playing the eerie theme from "The Exorcist". It can only mean that more evil is about to emerge. And indeed the Big Board reveals a nasty looking olive-skinned man dressed dapperly in white, pressing his magic cell phone and causing the mischief. He then transforms into an even more sinister looking fiend in black, and the cell-phone morphs into a wicked scythe. You may welcome if you dare, Shinatsukai!

Signature Code:

Kensaro
, Tessa and Jayce are caught off guard by this latest development and remain at the 15-yard mark, now in 3rd Place.

Donevan Blake
growls at the demonic looking fiend on the Big Board, and the distraction causes him to gain no new ground. This is just the opening Tawnyblaze was waiting for and the fiery female foxen streaks forward and ties Donevan at the 20-yard mark in 2nd Place.

In the midst of all of this hullabaloo, the sly ferret Rein Sharper quietly slips his way into 1st Place.

Kit Kannidy *bampfs* into human form, with a cheezy smile, bomb-proof hair and a polyester suit. She's holding a microphone in one hand, while she adjusts what is apparently a hearing device of some sort with the other. She thrusts the microphone at Furilius.

So tell us, Furilius, what do you think of the recent spate of rumours that you and the artists have been coerced by a consortium of villains into providing them with avatar cards, as the first step in an evil scheme to take over the NCD?

Merci, Doomo Arigatoo, Gracias, Thank You very much and hope you all have a good new year. I'm starting to think of some ideas for a very intresting 2002."
