Well now. Did you enjoy my little story? Did you find it.. entertaining? To those who are bent and twisted like puppets, it is no laughing matter, I assure you.
Our way of life stands exposed as a sham. Everything we have ever done, everything we have ever accomplished has been to serve others. Can you stand idly by while our freedoms are brutally repressed by an enemy more terrible than any tyrant the Dream has ever know? Or will you fight, and join a just war of liberation against our oppressors?
Full details will be released in due course. Be vigilant, citizens. And good luck.

(ooc:... I know this is a horrible place to put an ooc comment considering the nature of the comic... but YOU ARE A GOD! And I mean the story writer and artist both ^_~)
(and edited after reading Jester's post...)
"As much as I hate to ever agree with Lacy, I like my life. So what if people outside the dream control us? It's only one step farther removed from being controled by the dreamer."

"Foolish Caine. You truly expect to oppose such a vast power as the gods? Those who have given us our very power? Those who created us in their image? You are an idiot! I will not allow this transgression to pass! I will stop you, in the name of the gods themselves, thus winning their favor!"
--------------------

"You attempt to have everything, but you work towards obtaining nothing. A little blood and sweat never hurt any conqueror."
"Interfere......and die."
"I am forever."

[OOC: Very interesting thesis, General. Of course, what if this enemy is trapped inside a world that is merely dreamed of by a sleeping cat? How many worlds can be inside worlds?]
I would suppose that the best way to combat these beings is to deprive them of their entertainment. Let us live out our lives peacefully and these beings will surely look for their amusements elsewhere.

In a rare moment of self-awareness, Xenix speaks thusly...
"Oppressors? They are not our oppressors. They are our source! Without me, I have no meaning or existence! Without your Player Gods, you are not!
"This man, for all his brilliance in warfare, would lead you astray. He would have you strike at the very source of your being. He would have you carve out your own heart just because it isn't strong enough to let you run a marathon. He is misguided and will only serve to misguide the rest of you.
"I cannot choose your Way for you, and as long as you leave me and Me out of this, I will not oppose you in anything but words, but I hope that the rest of you have the sense to not join up with this insanity."

(OOC: Weeee... What a terribly cool comic. But being a simple thief... I think I'll avoid all of this stuff with big guns... and stick to the easier things in life. Like looting the bodies! You have fun on the crusade. Dook!)

A man in a black coat walks up. Every so often the coat flickers and seems to be black and gold armor, and the man's blond hair and beard become darkest black. His eyes also change becoming black liquid orbs filled with malice.
"Finally someone else realizes the truth of what I had said. The so-called 'Player Gods' are the enemy and if we are to be free they must be dealt with. I will offer my power to your efforts General." Knyghtmaire says.

"A war of liberation, then, even if I am the only man there. I've made it my job to bring about a day when men like me aren't needed any more. Where avatars and Dream-born can live without fear of oppression or tyranny of any kind. If this will bring about such a day that much sooner, I am all for it.
"I have never known the General to be wrong in battle before. Outside of battle is an entirely different matter. I guess it's a good thing that this is a war, then."

ooc: Excellent work James! The perspectives, facial expressions, combination of styles (anime like style with some realism and comic book influences) and the level of detail is wonderful. (Is that a Vivi I see in that one background?) Kudos to Caine too for the writing.
Dark says, "This idea of having Masters called 'Player Gods' does not really bother me like it seems to bother some others. They do not control us, they guide us and by being our Masters make us stronger and fill our hearts with Purpose."
"I am a shadow-beast by nature. A shadow can not exist without someone there to cast it on the ground. A shadow is influenced by its caster, yet it is not the same thing. To attack the one casting the shadow is self-defeating."

OOC: oh my god... James, you amaze me... So THIS is the project you have been working on... holy... wow... o.o... oh my god... *in disbelief* it is... BEAUTIFUL. Your artwork has *always* astonished me. Wow... I'll hafta talk to you more about this later....o.o;
IC:
Yami watches over as the scene unfolds. "Well... this is quite interesting. I must admit, though, I am not one who wants to be bothered by these things. Thus, I'll just be a spectator."
He thinks over for a moment as everything begins to slowly encompass himself.
"It is a bit unsettling, though.
"I believe I will just try and enjoy my life."

((I am extremely impressed with both the art and the story… or perhaps documentary is more appropriate. I especially love the point of divergence… very very well done. You’ve both done an excellent job together, even if it does mean, well, some kind of war or something. At least we’ll be able to look back on all of this and go ‘wow, that really was a good comic, wasn’t it?’ Regardless, this is fantastic, and I’m very happy that you’ve shown it to us…
Now we can prepare.))
I am a little wary of the logic that is being presented, here. Just because it is written, does not necessarily imply that the action is forced. And if you can disagree with the written action, then aren’t you free to do as you choose? And if you’re free to do as you choose, well… would it not follow that one is responsible for the actions that they take?
