Boulder in the Sun
      #410908 - Fri Oct 31 2003 08:41 AM

Eyeing the area critically the cheetah glances at the rather large boulder laying in the savannah somewhat overgrown since he last saw it......

The spotted feline draws a blade and spends a few moments cheerfully hacking away at the undergrowth until it's been cleared away sufficiently for his tastes.
Holding out one hand a blazingly bright shape starts to form, slowly contracting into an ordinary broom used by the spotted feline to attack the boulder, vigorously sweeping it clean with the twigs of the brush.

When the rock is back in a state that meets with the feline's standards (not too hard) he puts the broom up against the side of the rock, and with a slow sigh settles down, stretching out on the warm stone closing his eyes as he turns his face to the sun. It's not long before a curious little sunbeam wanders over and starts to flit around the tip of the cheetah's tail.

An anthro ermine is wandering through the area. She is looking around to see what sights lie in her surroundings, and listening to what sounds the air may hold. Yet, of even more interest to her than the sights and sounds are the scents. Her muzzle darts about frequently as she attempts to take in nature's aromatic art. Ah, I just love to smell the various plants I come across! So many people only appreciate the colors they perceive with their eyes, and fail to realize just how truly colorful the world is! A travelling case is clutched in her right paw.

She is surprised when she sees the boulder with the cheetah sitting on it. Wow, I wonder who he is and what he is doing here! A smile quickly forms on her brown and white muzzle. This could be a great chance to indulge my curiosity! She cheerfully skips toward the boulder.

Her deep brown eyes widen in great surprise when she sees the sunbeam flitting around the cheetah's tail. Yet, her smile soon widens as well. Wow, this will be a great chance to indulge my curiosity! She approaches the boulder and says, "Hi there!" Her voice is filled with friendliness.

Thank you sooo much, Cave! I love it!

Perking up an ear at the greeting the cheetah slowy raises his head to look up at the arrival, the little sunbeam flits over to his head, bounces around between his ears for a moment, then goes back to examining the spotted feline's curling tailtip.

"'Lo there," the spottycat comments, "Good day and well-met. What brings you to these parts?"

He sits upright and slides down the side of the boulder into a half sitting, half standing position, his eyes taking in the appearence of the mustelid, then breaks out into a smile and preforms a small bow.

"Where are my manners? I tend to go by the name of Kensaro, welcome to the savannah."

Vanilla smiles good-naturedly at Kensaro. Her eyes frequently wander to the sunbeams, which have her very curious.

The ermine's voice is filled with friendliness as she replies. "It's good to meet you, Kensaro! My name is Vanilla. As for what brings me here, I guess the best answer would be curiosity. I love to travel to new places to see what there is to find. I'm always searching for new experiences, as well as new sights, sounds, and scents."

The smile never leaves her muzzle. "Oh, speaking of scents, another reason I travel is to find new ingredients for perfumes, colognes, and incenses. I love beautiful fragrances so much that I have chosen to make them the focus of my life. In fact, I carry numerous scents with me wherever I go." She glances toward the travelling case in her right paw.

She suddenly looks a bit embarrassed. "Er, sorry about rambling like that! I tend to ramble frequently."

Her eyes dart to the sunbeams yet again. Clearly, she is very curious about the sunbeams that are flitting and moving around the cheetah. She is also very curious about Kensaro himself. Her curiosity is clearly reflected in her eyes.
