Vann's poking at the creature had indeed had the effect he figured it would have, but he was not expecting what happened next.
When two rather large objects fall from the sky, one a person, who landed safely on the basement floor and proceeded to start ripping the creature to shreds with blades of light. The second, a large chunk of stone that he suspected once belonged to the walls, falls directly onto the creature.
Needless to say, the monster was done, and there wasn't much left for him to do, even if he was planning on doing it. So, instead, he decided to continue down the steps, making his way to the bottom at a relaxing pace, swinging his staff in a circle as he came down, like a haughty man and his cane.

OOC: Not everyone has replied, but I'm guessing you thought you wouldn't need to?
Unfortunately for the Commander, this creature was completely rapid and hungry. All other emotions that might have once existed such as fear, had long since been replaced by the overriding desire for food. In a sense, it might be seen as sad.
However, due to the Commander's over-confidence, he is now about to be eaten. The creature managed to prise its jaws apart, its black ooze-blood bursting into a small shower that rained down upon him and the police officer behind him.
Its head raced down and came inches from the Commander when its head exploded, burst open by the well-placed attack from Genichi Kasuse.
The headless creature writhed against the ground for a moment, a little dangerously, before remaining still and silent, its body still protruding from the hole in the ground.
As Vann hadn't been quite so distracted by the flailing beast, he had much more time to attempt and observation of the room. Illuminated by the green 'lamp-eyes' of the creature, it is revealed that there are just two ways out of the the Pit; a huge open archway that led into darkness, or the shaft that the creature presently occupied.
The green light vanished as its head exploded, leaving just one solitary light coming from above where Genichi had left his torch with Santo and Draco...
We shall now assume that everyone has decended the stairs, someone having taken the torch (first to post this, gets it) and are now stood over the corpse of the beast. You have the choice to split up, one team, having hacked away at the creature, could investigate the lower passage, whilst the other team could take the more obvious route into the darkness; or everyone take to one specific route.

((OOC - It's Mine...ALL MINE, BUWAHAHA!! Don't mind me. Santo could make a torch, but he really wanted the torch. Oh yes, over 100 posts...w00t!))
Replacing his Kukri back into its hilt, Santo grabs the torch and heads back down the depths behind the wizard. Not having much action was well enough for the thief. Given the clue that the green light was gone gave the thief a sense that the creature might as well be dead. The rocks falling and cutting of flesh was really the first clue.
Meeting the others at the bottom, Santo recommends splitting up as the large numbers might overcrowd the corridors. A good mix of strengths splitting up would lessen the chances of death in their respectable parties. Splitting up would also cover more ground and opportunities to find better ends to these depths. Not really wanting to confront another creature like the previous, Santo makes his decision.
"I'll lead the group into the archway."

That was to be expected, but was not to be prepared for. At least, not for the first split second. He had his Force Fielding ready in front of him when the creature was about three feet away from him. What kind of field? Well, you could sum it to be a blue, half-translucent, five meter tall, three inch thick, two meter wide wall, spiked with solid jagged stakes. But it seemed quite pointless, now that the creature is now nothing but a dead piece of carcass. It's oozing black blood splattered all over his barrier, chunks of meat pierced at the spikes like shish kebab.
"Tch... could've killed him if I wanted." True. He hadn't made a reaction since the creature's sudden assault, apart from the barrier. "Such a fun-killer..." muttered the Commander, deactivating his barrier, letting the black blood and meat fall to the ground. Prancing lightly ahead, he passed Genichi without making eye contact. Yet one word left his mouth.
"Thanks."
"Sure. Thank him. I'm sure he feels appreciated."
"Aren't you glad he just saved our butts?"
"Glad? Pah! The only time when I'll be glad is a time when I can finally cut something that is alive up to thousands of pieces, which I obviously cannot do for the last thousands of years!" Shouted the Commander, and, in rage, summoned a translucent gigantic hammer and swung it down at the ground, causing a tiny earthquake and a deafening bang across the entire pit and leaving a pretty deep crater where it hit.
"Sorry... didn't know being a bodiless spirit bothers you so much..."
"Shut up," said the Commander as he deactivates his hammer and walked forward, joining Santo the rest of the team. He'll be taking the bigger route. There's much more room to move around.

Reaching into his bag, Vann pulled forth a small ball of thistle and a match. Striking the match on his hand, he lit the ball on fire. Throwing out the match, he formed the seal of fire with his open hand and quietly spoke the words, "Tnemele, Lortnoc, Erif"
The firey thistle sprang up from his hand and formed a small sphere of fire, floating just above his hand. He then decided which way he would go. The archway seemed the logical choice. However, he was intrigued by the pit, considering they had just entered and this path was already guarded. It seemed to him that this direction may lead to something of more interest.
So, he began walking around the pit, trying to find a safe way down without using a spell of some sort.

Draco pulls out his sword as he reaches the bottom, in the dark it glowed with a dim light but just enough to allow Dracos dragon eyes see all around him. He really didn't care where the others were going to go, he had already made his decision to go down the pit.
He moved to the pit and jumped down without a second thought, he was hoping there was something to fight down there, seeing all the blood got him riled up and he wanted some for himself. There may be treasure down here but that was not his reason to come here, he just wanted some action now.

Geri had almost fainted, largely being held up by Freki as the lycan girl tried to tie a cloth over his nose. The process was hindered somewhat by the fact she couldnt quite tie knots just yet; Geri had tied her cloak when he had first made it and she'd gotten into the habit of just lifting it over her head every time.
She managed a loose knot which probably wouldn't hold up to much battering, but for now it was staying around her pack-brother's head.
Geri inhaled the smell of the fabric Freki had been keeping in her pack for her next kill, but still managed to sense the smell of the thing's black blood through the musty odour of Freki's bag. He leaned over, and threw up.
Recovering his composure after that, he straightened up, and stopped leaning on Freki. The minute she was free, she began to wander after Vann, an interested look on her face. Geri grabbed her arm.
"Uh-uh. We're sticking with this guy," he indicated Genichi.
"Coward," Freki spat at him, not wanting to recall her own experience of terror back in the upper pit. She shook him off and strode after Vann.
Geri scowled and remained where he stood.

Myst was definately going through the arch. Wherever that slimey monster came from was not where she wanted to be.
She held the hem of her dress up, which was now dirty from falling on the stairs with Lonski, and trotted after Santo and Commander Blackheart. She was certainly grateful that Santo had pilfered that torch, treading into the unknown in complete darkness didn't seem a very good idea. For which reason, she was intent on staying close to him, and, as torch bearer, she had no qualms with his self-ascertion as 'leader'.
She glanced back to see where Lonski was going to go.

Vann continued to inspect the pit, trying to locate a way down when the fellow with the icy sword jumped down ahead of him.
"Impatient, are we?"
He was slightly annoyed and maybe a little worried. After all, he expected more traps and encounters deeper in the pit and it wouldn't do to lose member this early in the journey.
As he shook his head and continued his search, he noticed Freki approaching him. He stopped and smiled, though he doubted it would be seen very well.
"I take it you wish to accompany us down into the pit. While I question your choice, I do not doubt your courage, you did volunteer to partake in this quest after all. I don't suppose you have an easy way down, do you?"

Freki leaned over the edge of the pit, peering down into the darkness that, while not much deeper than the shade clustering about them now, was still deep enough to add uncertainty as to its depth.
She absently kicked a small scree of pebbles down into that blackness, apparently forgetting that Draco had just jumped down. Her long, pointed ears twitched as she heard the sounds rebounding. Some of the stones skittered off Draco, but the larger proportion plopped into what sounded like water, not very far down. As the ripples spread, the light from Vann's 'torch' illuminated the waves on the black water, and Freki nodded in satisfaction.
"Jumping seems like a good idea. It's really not that deep, and there's water, so if it is too deep I guess you'd float."

Using one of his LE’s to see clearly by Genichi made his way around the even darker pit, it was intriguing; the thought of what lay at the bottom of the dark abyss. “It would be foolish to simply jump in,” he spoke in the direction the female Lycan “There could be anything at the bottom of that, I trust you saw what was guarding it.”
Reinserting a MOC chip into one of his LE’s, Genichi latched it onto the edge of the pit; standing at an angel with his back hanging over the side of the pit. “If its safe once I reach the bottom, I’ll let you know.” “Somehow.,” he added as an after thought.
Why most of these mercenaries had agreed to come on this expedition, he didn’t know; only a small handful even looked like they could survive in the dark let alone fight dark fiends.
Slowly Genichi descended into the dark, only having the gentle glare of his LE to see by. Take it small jumps at a time, he feet giving off a thud as they collided with the wall; which would echo eerily in the darkness below and above him to those who did not know he was abseiling into the pit.

Vann looked questioningly down at the water below them. He agreed with Genichi's comment about not jumping.
"I think he may be right. Even though there is water below us, it could be to simply lure us into the assumption that it would be safe to jump. From this distance, we can't really tell how deep the water actually is. It may only be a few feet. Let us wait until that swordsman reached the bottom."

As Draco came close the water he made a swipe in the air and cleaved across the waters surface, freezing it solid right as he hit, making a solid surface for him to stand on, his impact was stable and balanced crouching to make sure it was and then standing.
He held his sword at his side and looked around the room, though his sword gave little light he was able to see around the room with ease using his dragon eyes. He was hoping there was more land some where and would jump to it if there was.

Lonski had jumped down the stairs a dozen at a time apparently forgetting how she had fallen earlier down the same slippery steps. The racket down below seemed to crescendo and Lonski bit her lip with worry that the action would end before she reached it.
Unfortunately for her she had. Even more unfortunately for Lonski due to the sudden skidding halt she had made upon realisation the ground under her feet suddenly jerked away and the practically indistinguishable walls became the practically indistinguishable ceiling.
After a interval filled with kicking and letting loose of several strings of words that would turn any listener's ears blue.
After finally calming herself down Lonski picked herself up and brushed whatever grimy residue from the ground had gathered on her clothes.
The warrioress looked up just in time to see Vann and Genichi peering cautiously over an edge of some sort. It seemed to be some sort of gap in the earth that led to a pool of some descript she judged from the sound of rippling of the water against the walls and also from the tense position they were crouched in which looked like they were preparing to leap down.
With a smirk Lonski decided that she'd be nice and give them a hand getting down. Neither had seemed to turn around to look at her during her post fall reaction so she crept as quietly as she could up towards him and raised a boot to Vann's back and made to give him a firm nudge.

Vann turned his head around when Lonski came falling down the stairs. He would have been concerned if she hadn't started shouting and basically throwing a tantrum about it. She was obviously fine.
The bottom didn't seem to far down, so maybe he would be alright jumping down. He stood up and put out the flame he had in his hand, he still had plenty of the kindling balls in his bag so it wouldn't hurt to get rid of this one.
It was this point, he heard light footsteps behind him. He figured it must be Lonski or someone else coming over to the pit to have their own look or whatever. He turned to face them and see who it was or what their plan was, just in time to see Lonski's boot coming right at him.
Unable to dodge out of the way, he caught her kick in his hands. Unfortunately for everyone, he was still quite close to the edge, and since he wasn't prepared for her kick, its effect still took place, as he started to fall into the pit. He unconciously held fast to her leg though, every normal person's reaction to try and prevent themselves from falling. This likely just made things worse.

Lonski gave a victorious 'Haha' with an evil glint in her eye as Vann began to go down but then her voice caught in her throat as she suddenly found herself lurch forward into the water along with him.
"CRAAAAP!" She yelled as they fell through the air. not from fear but from shear embarrassment from getting caught - literally - by Vann.
They both crashed into the water with a resonating 'badush' which muffled yet another string of curses and mutterings from Lonski. At the very least she had managed to maneuver herself so Vann would hit the water first which left Lonski to land on him as a for of payback. She arose from the water first and shook the water from her hair violently.
She was not amused.
((That was amusing. :P
How deep is the water? I'd take a guess and day deep enough to swim but I don't know for sure.))

Draco was still upon his small Ice berg when the two of them hit, he couldn't help but laugh on the inside a little at their foolishness, on the outside he simply raised an eyebrow, "I assume you didn't plan that out very well."
His little ice platform was about 10 ft away from where the 2 landed, since there landing caused him to drift farther away from the hole, but it did help since it sent him further in a direction which could possibly allow him to see more, such as land or possibly another creature.

Vann hadn't intended to pull Lonski in with him and especially did not intend to allow her to fall on top of him when they hit the water. Needless to say, the impact of the water beneath him and her above him, made for a rather painful experience he would not soon forget.
Being under the surface of the water, with your breath knocked out of you, is not a good situation to be in. Curling in on himself momentarily from the blow he had received to his gut, a slight warmth to the water could be felt in front of his face, likely a bit of blood he'd coughed up.
He was under the surface of the water for a good ten to fifteen seconds after Lonski had already surfaced, before he himself bobbed up. He was close to unconciousness, but luckily his sudden need for air brought him back from the brink.
He spluttered and coughed as his head finally came over the surface, his body barely able to keep himself afloat. He was in to much pain and desperation for air to be angry at the moment, but he would surely have words before this was over.

Still waiting for whoever wanted to come through the archway, Santo saw the inevitable kick from Lonski toward Vann. Seeing them both fall down the water hole, he slapped his hand to his forehead and slid it down.
"Whatever, if everyone is ready, then let's go. They seemed like they're having fun. I have other plans. A thief's time is precious."
Santo couldn't stay any longer. He was ready to go on and staying there was only going to delay precious time. The thief started to walk toward and through the archway.

"Foolish modern kids, doesn't know when to get serious," commented the Commander at the shenanigans.
"Aren't you the same?"
"Aren't YOU the same?"
"Touche."
Anyhow, since everybody have started their descent, he figured he should start one too. Stepping off the edge of the rock, he fell down vertically. Literally. Before he hit the water, though, he instantly freezes the water, making a solid block of ice for him to stand on. But that's just it. It's ice. Landing hard on the ice, he slipped around a little before stopping to a halt. Eager to avoid any more slipping and possibly humiliation like the two who fell, he altered the molecular arrangement of the ice so that it would be a little bit jagged to provide enough friction to prevent him from slipping. Straightening up, he turned around facing Vann and Lonski and summoned two translucent cable, now barely visible because of the lack of light, to help lift them up, while freezing another area of water for their platform, if they comply to the cable. By the way, he made the platform as slippery as possible, because he's evil.
"Don't be playing around, ya half-wit!" he asked Vann and Lonski, getting his cable to coil both of them.

“Idiots!” Genichi exclaimed as an obscenity echoed down the well-like structure, to which followed two bodies that narrowly missed him. ‘What the hell are they playing at?’ he wondered as he continued his descent. Moments later yet another body passed by him; his scarred eye twitching as a reflection of his aggravation.
With a heavy sigh he completed the last of his descent. He feel awkwardly onto the ice below as he released the grip of his L.E on the rock. It was hard to see down here, even with the glow of his L.E which cast weak shadows of the small group onto the ice. Living up to his promise to the lycan’s, the only ones that seemed to have some sense , he fumbled with his L.E before sending a bolt of laser light upwards akin to a flare. Hopefully they would understand this was his signal for all was safe.
Although his boot's had excellent grip capabilities he was going to have to be careful where he stood as they were not made to walk on ice.

Vann's spluttering and awkward hand movements to let him stay afloat, allowed him to easily find the offered cable, though he couldn't see who offered it. When he was risen out of the water and plopped onto the ice, he would have fallen, whether it was slippery or not.
Immediately falling to his hands and knees, still not fully recovered from the blow he took. Traces amounts of blood fell onto the ice as he continued to cough it up. The book on his back had immediately begun to dry out, its magical properties protecting it from such elements and mistreatment.
He would have replied to the comments regarding his intelligence if he'd had the ability to. But for now, he considered them illplaced, considering this was certainly not his fault.

The water was cold, she'd give it that but the Warrioress ignored it as much as she could as she tredded the water to stay afloat, her sword was dragging her down somewhat.
Lonski nodded in thanks as she reached for the cable and pulled herself up onto the ice. "Cheers hun," She said cheerfully to Genichi after she pulled a tongue at him for his insult. She normally would have retorted but he did have a point.
She swept her head back suddenly to shake the water from her long hair and with a sigh and a tut she went to pull Vann to his feet.
"Sorry mate, in all honesty I figured you'd have the intelligence to fall feet first rather then gut first." Lonski eyed the Wizard with a tinge of guilt as she saw the blood on the ice.
"No harm done eh? Least we got the crap off from under our shoes for now, might help with the grip somewhat."

OOC: ... XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD;;;
Top Side
Santo, Myst, Geri & Freki, Kitawa
Kitawa eyed the sudden 'descent' of most of the group down the circular well where the huge creature had once been. He wondered whether this was really the sort of hero group he ought to be adventuring with and watched Santo head through the archway.
He mused for a moment, "I think I'll stay here. Guarding the rear in case that... dragon thing comes back up top?" He wasn't afraid but he didn't like the idea of having something come up behind them, especially if they were going to continue being so reckless.
Genichi Kasuse's beam of light shoots from the hole in the ground, announcing his signal to the lycans that the way is safe, should they still wish to descend.
As Santo passes alone through the archway, he'll find that even the bright beam of Genichi's torch finds it difficult to give the thief a vantage. Should he take the time to shine the instrument across as much of the room as his patience will allow, he'll find that he has entered what moght be considered a 'hall'. Two rows of tall roman-esque pillars rise to the distant arched ceiling. The room continued with the stone asthetic and there only seemed to be one direction; straight ahead.
Should he, or anyone else, continue this path they will be met with a second archway that leads into yet another room. This one is much more clearly lit, illuminated with mild blue glow from what appear to be flowers growing from the very rock, only their petals appear crystaline. They surround a shallow, clear pool that looked as though it might have been used for bathing at some time. Even now, however, the water was perfectly clear and the blue hue from the flowers glittered across its surface. Behind the pool, the stone floor rose several metres above the adventurers' heads and led to yet another doorway, this one much smaller than the last two archways. The entire room wasn't very large, but was immensely tall, the pilfered torch not managing to reach the ceiling.
Nothing had attacked them yet.
Water Tunnel
Commander Blackheart, BlackIceDragon, Genichi Kasuse, Lonski, Vann Distrid
After the three Stooges humour seemed to have subsided, the turbulent water finally began to settle down. The three ice floats bob on the water, swaying gently with a slow-moving current that was pushing them down the 'water tunnel'.
The water that they had just clambered out of was deep enough so that no-one hit the floor when they fell into it (luckily), however it also seemed somewhat... unclean. It was murky with a brown hue to it and a particular stench that would make even the most average sense of smell to wrinkle one's nose. The tunnel was spherical and extended both forewards and to the aft, however the current was carrying them foreward at a slow pace.
Atop one float is Draco alone. He is furthest down the tunnel being the first upon an ice float, though he is clearly visible to the others. Next comes the slippery ice float that Vann Distrid and Lonski are trying to stand on and lastly, just leaving the area where the hole still led up to the top side, was Commander Blackheart and Genichi Kasuse. (I decided it would make more sense to have these two on a seperate ice float together due to the times of descent)
Provided that everyone stays on their ice floats, they will find that the current gradually takes them away from the hole and further and further along the tunnel. At the far end those with keen eye-sight will notice an arch where the water seems to quicken a great deal. A waterfall is due...
OOC:
Comments: A great run of social RPing there, I was very happy with all that . Great stuff. ^_^
Geri & Freki, you can't say that you hit Draco with the stones. You should have worked in a 'the stones should hit Draco' sentence instead. Remember only the GM dictates actions
BlackIceDragon, although you should really have only attempted freezing the water when you first came across it, you made a fantastic save for Lonski's blunder; I was very impressed.
Lonski, read everyone's posts between mine -_-;. Had Draco not devised a varient on his post, Lonski would have to have been assumed frozen in the water .
Great work everyone! Poor Santo has to put up with Myst on his own now... XDDD

((I thought I should correct, just for continuity's sake that Vann actually hit the water back first. In hindsight, that would have made it rather difficult for him to get very far underwater, what with the book and all, but it also means that Lonski actually landed on his gut, hence the bleeding.))
As Vann finally began to recover from his fall, he was actually able to speak his mind to Lonski.
"No harm! What are you thinking?! I'm the one down here coughing up blood and you say there's no harm!"
Despite how angry he was, he managed to keep his voice down to an angry hiss. If it had been anybody else, he thought he might of thrown a punch or two, but since he usually didn't hit women, he settled for giving her a hard shove against her leg. He imagined, with the slippery ice that she would at least fall over and give him some feelings of a successful revenge.
