Ow (Open intro)

In the noon-day sun of the fields outside Anycity, a dirty, somewhat battered figure of a young, almost canid-appearing anthropomorph crawls out from a ditch. Still aching from the taser darts he was hit with some minute ago, he reaches down and tugs the two spikes from his side with a wince.
"Ow." He grunts and feels the wound. Two tiny punctures, not an inch deep each, but enough to be a concern if he's not near supplies. From where he sits, he can see the tops of the skyscrapers in Anycity, but he curses silently to himself at taking out the darts, they'd have stopped any blood flow. Sitting still for a second, he decides to give it a minute and stay sitting, putting pressure on the wound, hoping it's not as bad as it feels.
He stays put for a good ten minutes, the red spot on his now dirty white medical robe slowly creeping to become larger than his hand, then stopping as the wound begins to seal itself, the pain dulling somewhat.

*A young girl with long black hair is skipping rope on the outskirts of Anycity. Once she reaches the fields, the rope isn't very useful, so she switches to just skipping.
She comes across the wolf, and stops. She isn't sure if he's friendly or not, so she just stands there silently watching.
Eventually, she notices the not-so-white cloth, and becomes concerned. She's still a little afraid to approach the wolf, but does manage to take a couple steps towards him.*
"Uh.. Are you okay? I know some healing magic.. If.. If you want some help."

He looks up at the voice. Seeing the young girl, he gains a faint pseudo-canine smile, "Sorry, don't have time to play games." Magic, being an altogether foreign concept to him, is assumed to be just the creation of a youthful imagination. From what he remembered from his little cousin when he was younger, that means random herbs being applied from the kitchen cabinet, usually to chaotic and painful results... long story, that.
He pushes himself a bit shakily to his feet and debates asking for her to have someone call an ambulance, but... well, his new big animal-type body might not be a common admittance to the hospital; or at least it wasn't in the world he was from. What else was he supposed to do, though? Live in a hut in the woods and never see society again? Not with his dependence on technology, he'd last two weeks, at best.
The faint smile he had gained completely banished, he looks out at Anycity, "Well... now what?"

*She cocks her head*
"Games? I take magic very seriously.. Well, at least most of the time. Father is always saying how important magic is, and how it shouldn't be mis-used."
*Her face looks stern at her statement. When the wolf is done talking, she looks around for a few seconds.*
"Umm... If you don't want magic healing, I guess I can take you to a doctor. Although truthfully, I've never been to one before in my life. I've always been healed from magic, but I suppose that is father's way. Anycity is the best place to look for a doctor."
*She takes a few steps forward towards Anycity, but then stops, and turns back to the wolf.*
"I'm Freya." ^_^ "Do you need help walking there, or are you able to walk?"

"Er, yeah, rather stick to medicine." He pauses as she talks, "Anycity?" He looks out at the city before him, hesitating a second, "Yeah, doctor would be best." Well, hopefully a private practice doctor would be easier to explain his situation to, "Name's Alex, thank you, by the way. I'm fine walking, so long as I don't need to hop any fences or anything. I've bounced back from worse, but best to get myself checked out from all I've been through."
"Don't suppose you know a doctor nearby? Don't want to cause a commotion, looking like this." He looks down at himself, self-conscious once again about being out in what he deems a most unnatural body, though he might just be referring to the messed up medical gown, as well.

*She plays with her long black ponytail as she ponders his question.*
"Honestly, I don't know any doctors. I'm just guessing that a city would have them. It would make sense, don't you think? ...As to how you look... I guess it would be embarrassing to walk around a city in tattered medical gowns.."
*She flicks her hand a couple times, and a large bag appears on the ground in front of her. She starts to rummage around in it for a few seconds, then pulls out a long fire red robe with gold trim.*
"It's a spare robe of my father's. I'm sure he won't mind.. ..As long as he doesn't find out."
*She chuckles to herself as she unfolds the robe, and offers it to Alex.*
"It should fit.. ..I hope."

"Mm, so first stop, pay phone for the yellow pages... and I'm a little more concerned with the snout, tail and fur than the medical g..."
In responce to the instantly appearing bag, to quote a wise net guru: Dot dot dot, question mark!?
Now, being a very logical person, he can tell that his world as it was is collapsing around him. As it was, he's already been reanimated, mutated and teleported, what's a little magic mixed in? "Oh, tell me I just missed that sitting there. If it's a concussion, I don't have to rethink the laws of physics again."
He gives a pitiable expression as he accepts the robe, "Be... right back, going to do some makeshift bandaging so I don't get this all messed up, and maybe I can salvage a little sanity while I'm at it." He heads off a bit to find some cover in which to turn his gown into a bandage and change into the robe.

"Huh? No. The bag wasn't there. I always store my bag in its own personal dimension. That way I don't have to carry it. It's usually very heavy for me to carry.."
*She's about to tell him that his long snout, and fur shouldn't be a problem in Anycity, but he goes off to change before she really has the chance. She waits patiently (mostly) for his return. She holds her hand out, and opens her palm face up. Tiny snowflakes start to fall several inches from her palm, and slowly accumulate in her hand while she waits for Alex.*

"Great..." He sighs. He'd already been introduced to the concept of metahumans, stable mutation and physics beyond the norm, but the invocation of that sort of physics behavior through magic? Well, while it wasn't exactly turning his world upside down, it was another unpredictable thing to keep track of.
Alex never did any first-aid beyond a band-aid before, but the concept was simple enough, and he's seen it done. Taking his gown, he rips the cleanest part into a strip, foldinging it into a good pad, and using the top-side of the gown, makes a few good long strips and ties the pad tight to his side, keeping pressure on the wound and ensuring the lent robe doesn't get stained by blood.
He puts on the robs and makes sure it's properly secured, be it by belt, clasps, whatever it has. He walks out, straightening it... and fighting a bit of static cling, "Alright, think I'm set here, then."

At that moment if any of them would have looked in the sky they would have seen a small object coming towards them.
Firebolt had unfortunately failed at another experiment he was conducting and his short flight was the cause of it, while in the air he was able to contemplate his failure and go through his head what went wrong so this was often a good opportunity for him, as well it helped him get out and meet others.
He had gotten used to this flight so his fear of it was lacking since he knew he'd not be inflicted damage, the usual yell you might hear in your heads from him was not heard this time. he had actually come to enjoy the ride come to think of it.
Firebolt came to a large slam on the ground leaving a small crater about 50 yards from the two. Small amounts of dust and dirt would of flown up and a probably large cloud now covers his landing site. He was stuck in the ground like he normally would be but luckily for him not that deeply, and he could release himself, but that fall still knocked him out like usual so he might take a bit to wake.
To anyone who looks at him he simply looks like a sword that is stuck in the ground, at least its not a stone or anvil huh, ha ha. He should be easily picked up and will act as a normal sword until he wakes.

*She ceases her snow-falling into her hand when she sees Alex, and smiles*
"It looks like it fits well enough. Oh, and don't worry about your appearance. Being an anthro is actually quite common from what I've seen already. Being full human is more of a rarity."
*At that moment she feels the impact of the sword slamming into the ground, and it nearly makes her fall to the ground. She barely remains standing. She turns around looking for the cause.*
"What was that?"

"Seems alri-" The grass in a few feet to the side of Alex shifts and sways violently for a moment as the sword impacts, and then it ceases, "The hell?!" He turns in a start to look at the crater, "Dunno."
Thinking it would be a bad idea to stay near crater-forming phenomenon, he takes a few steps back, though curiosity keeps his eyes trained on the crater's location as the debris clears, "Like something out of a Final Fantasy game or something. That thing turns into a giant sword-wielding demon or something, I'm out, game over." Yes, jokes help relieve apprehension.
If he knew one thing from games, it was that touching strange things that randomly appeared either gave you something useful, or activated a boss battle. Frankly, it wasn't worth risking the latter for the prior.

*She gives Alex a blank stare. It's obvious that she has no idea what "Final Fantasy" is. She walks over to the crater to inspect it anyways. The sword stuck in the ground is only mildly interesting. As a wizard, she doesn't really use a sword.*
"Useless to me, truthfully.. but maybe father knows someone who'd like it.."
*She attempts to lift it out of the ground.. and attempts.. and attempts.. and attempts.. Finally flustered, she angrily uses magic to lift it. It flies 40ft into the air before stopping. Regaining her composure, she sets the sword down on the ground. She then uses the grass and other stuff around her to make a sort of slate, which she uses to hold the sword while it levitates off the ground. Then she remembers about Alex, and turns to him apologetically.*
"Uh.. Sorry about that. I probably should have just come back for the sword later.. The city is this way. It shouldn't take very long to get there. Hopefully a doctor's office isn't too far."

"Eh... yeah... well, look, if you want the thing, I'll carry it, I guess. Usually some kind of loose rule about don't touch strange weapons that fall from the sky in my book, though." Yeah, he just made that rule, so what? "If I can't drop the thing, get a decurse ready, I guess." Being a geek had some benefits, Dungeons and Dragons was a great teacher for the logic of magic... at least he hoped so.
He grabs the blade, hefting it in his hand. He's dealt with enough show-pieces to tell that this isn't a blade meant to hang on a wall, if the magical effects around it weren't the obvious point.
(( Is there a sheath along with FireBolt? ))

He hefts the blade over his shoulder, figuring this to be the most comfortable way to carry it, "So, since I didn't have my fingers rotted off or have the thing try to impale me at my own hands, shall we head out?" Yes, he had morbid Dungeon Masters.

(Huzzah for D&D.. although not really looking forward to 4th ed)
*She shrugs, and lets him carry the sword.*
"Um.. if you need me to remove curse, let me know. It isn't my best spell, but it'll at least remove any curse you might get."
*Not having to worry about carrying the sword, she starts walking to Anycity.*
"You.. uh.. don't seem to be comfortable with your own body. Did something happen when you got to the dream?"
|
|
|
|

He walks along with her, a bit reassured that she did know how to remove curses, and smirking faintly at a half-formed joke about shooting magic missiles at the darkness that never comes to fruition, he gets snapped out of it by her question.
"Ah, no. Before." He nods a little, "Long story, but the short version is I used to be human, got used as a guinea pig and... well, a lot's happened very quickly. When I make a decent amount of sense out of the last few months, I'll tell you the whole thing. If I had something to put it into contrast, I'd be a bit quicker with it, but... well, all I can remember is that lab."
He shrugs, "Even if all I know is this body, I just don't feel... well, right. Only thing that kept them from convincing me that they made me completely, I think. It's passing slowly though, I'm getting used to it all, I guess."

Firebolt stays unconsious even after all of that, he seemed to of hit harder than originaly thought and will probably be out for a wile longer. He's not actually giving off any magical feel or look to him, but in you hands he does seem to have a strange aura coming off of him, like the sword has power deep within it. Other than that he feels like a normal sword and goes on your shoulder easily.

Strange aura? What do you mean? Alex has the magical senses of a salt-clay brick, meaning none. Unless it was housing a great spirit that meant malice or harm to the point of a corporeal haunting, he'd be clueless, and then he'd just be clued off by the rattling chains.

*She nods.*
"A new body has got to be rough. I'm sorry. I'm not good enough to try to revert you back. I don't believe my father is either.."
*She doesn't know what to say after that, and just stays silent until they come to the outskirts of Anycity, at which point she points it out.*
"See.. almost to the city.. Then to find a doctor to check you out."
*She attempts to look as cheerful as she can for him.*

He nods as she apologizes for not being able to revert his form, "No worries. Not really sure how I looked before, tell you the truth, so I'm not too sure it matters at this point."
He simply shrugs, then remains silent for some time until the silence is broken, "Again, thanks for this. Not many people would stop and give help where it's needed without some sort of reward." He smiles a little. His side hurts, he's aching all over, and he's in a strange place where the basic physical laws seem little more than suggestions... and yet, it's not really a bad day.

The sword in your hand starts to wake... a slow vibration starts in the handle and then all of sudden bursts from your grip. "Whe.... where am I... wasn't I..." FireBolts voice sounds in your head almost like its coming from everywhere the sword floats for a bit and pays no mind to the two near him,he was very confused from the crash and was getting his mind straight.

(Sorry for the delay)
*She turns to him and shrugs*
"I dunno.. I think there are plenty of people to help. Especially here. The Dream has lots who like to help.. Just not everyone..."
*The sword begins to float as she finishes her sentence. Not being able to hear the sword being sentient, she readies herself to attack. She takes a couple steps forward toward Alex, ready to attempt to protect him if she can.*
