So, where has the lizard been....?
      #521041 - Wed Oct 20 2004 06:36 AM

Good day, citizens.

Several weeks ago I was diagnosed as suffering from acute stress. When one feel pains in the chest as if suffering from a heart attack, and one's stomach clenches as if it's never going to let go of the diaphram, one quickly learns the physical, viserial meaning of what stress is all about.

I have been seeking assistance to accomodate something that, I am informed, may very well be with me for the rest of my life. In doing so, I have neglected my duties. I will attempt to make up for this, and I ask for forebearance while I get through this particular cycle of my life.

Ah, yes, I know that sensation well... ^___^

Don't worry General, even undead lizards need vacations now and then... try to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Please take care, and tell your penquin friend to lay off the coffee. A news report a few months ago on CNN said that if you start you day off with small amounts of caffene (like, a regular soda) and keep maintaining levels of caffene through the day, you'll sleep better at night rather than jolting the system.

Man! That's rough..
Dude, I had no idea, but now that I do, I really wish you the best.

Please take due care, and take enough of it before you decide to trouble yourself with the things that trouble you once again.

Rather, take a break, and enjoy life for a bit!

Sometimes things follow us around for life; and it's inevitable. But we can always still make the best of what we have right now.

So don't let this get you down; rather, go with the flow, get over it one day, and get well!

here's for the best!

Ah, maybe I should come down and wind you up for a while! Nothing beats getting pissed off at someone to get you going again!

Hahahaha! XDD

Anyway, this does sound serious though so good luck and all! >_>. You'd better not be a smoker *eyes suspiciously*

Echoing what others have said... health first! I'm sure everyone will be far more upset with you if you didn't take it first (not like I think anyone's upset over some lack of posting or whatnot).

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your troubles and wish you a very restful break, however long it may last. Kick back and chill! ..that's an order?

Many wellwishes and we look forward to your eventual return.

I too wish to echo the sentiments of the others who have posted. Your health should come before your activities within the dream. I wish you a speedy recovery, and don't stress yourself out trying to catch up on what you missed. That would just be counterproductive.

General, this is why you have minions. You need to delegate your responsibilities to them more so you can rest and concentrate on staying alive. ...Er, dead. ...Er, whatever you are. O.o

Seriously, participating here is not a "duty" that you absolutely need to do. It is an entertaining pastime to be picked up when you are healthy and relaxed, and put aside when you are not. Your request for forebearance has been granted. Now go get well.

"Do, though, stay healthy and what-not as best as is possible with this condition, no?"

CainePG, please don't let the Dream duties be a source of your stress. Any mod or other obligations can be picked up by someone else. Just let Karol and I know what you need us to do.

While everyone is eager for you continued creative contributions, we value your health MUCH more. Get better!

The price of stress over time can be quite extensive. Stress is such a serious health issue, that you must find ways to address it before most things.

Do to the best of your ability, whatever the doctor's recommend.

As much as we treasure having you here.

Frankly, on the list of important things, we are WAY down from the top.

Good Luck General Caine

As engaging as the Dream is, your personal health is not something you should blow off for it.

Now, my fianl exam tomorrow on the other hand...

Many thank-yous for the well-wishes. new
      #521832 - Sun Oct 24 2004 02:58 AM

However, I have not appraised you of all the facts. I did not want to do so before, but I feel I should do so now to dispel certain concepts that have arisen. To begin with, my source of stress is not from my gaming. Nor does my gaming, I believe, contribute to my stress.

Having discussed this, my source of stress is one that will not go away no matter how much I "relax" or "take time off". For the past year I have been unemployed, and essentially live off the generosity of my friends and family. I continue to be unemployed despite my best efforts to become employed, and to watch everyone around me get jobs at what appears to be the drop of a hat while I struggle to stand still is immensely frustrating.

It is the considered opinion of the doctors and the councillor I talked to that being unemployed is the source that is causing me to feel acutely stressed. Until such time as I find employment I can only allay the symptoms, not get to the root of the matter.

EDIT:

I would ask that I receive no advice about how to get a job. I have received plenty of advice already over the past year from sources both sage and stupid. So much so that I tune it out now, or get cross with the person advising me.

Ah yes... just relaxing wouldn't take away the source of the problem, but I'd still recommend it. Of course easier said than done..

Ah, here I can post and come in.

First, chest pains suck. While I don't know exactly what in specific feeling your chest pains are over due to your stress, the ones I've been feeling the last few years now (to go with the near faint headaches) are not something to laugh about or shrug off. Nor it is something that'll cheaply get better.

So yeah, pretty generic advice.. Do things you enjoy, sleep, and try to melo out. Music helps.

As for getting a job, this is why I came in to post. I know how much being unemployed is bloody stressful and uncool. Been trying to get a holding parttime or fulltime job the last 3 years. It's not been pretty and not been cool. People have given me fuckloads of crap advice, none of which have helped. I had someone IM me earlier today, infact, telling me I should change my beliefs and everything would be better. Or something like that.

So don't get stressed off about them. And just tell those people who 'try to help' you to blow off and go [censored] themselves.

Feel better Caine, hopefully one day we can rp together in the future.
