Jennifer Neko what did I tell you about using mind control on people? And here you go losing yourself in the moment just so you can prove your better than Manchia. Don't let your ego dominate you Jennifer.. That is where you got the nick name "baka" in the first place.. proving your the most distructive cat around...But no matter who you are there will always be someone bigger badder and nastyer than you. Jennifer I am really disapointed in you... Go medinate on this for a few hours... > ------------------

Dark Bunny don't let Manchia bother you. Manchia I would have expected you to go for something... less enlightened. (and easier to control) But then I'll never understand sex.Jennifer... you remember that Lady lord who could sense your manipulations? I remember you telling me the 13 lords are dead... However... I sense her presence... She knows where you are... I have no battle with her and I don't want to see you start anything... So keep a low profile and cut this nonsense out. *OOC I don't have a name for this new character... I'm looking for something cute and Chinese... This is an evil lady lord* ------------------

*a ripple in the air coalesces into a disc through which is seen a dark world with a dim red sun**something large emerges from this disc, before it fades and is gone* *a 30' mech hits the ground with a loud thud and lumbers closer, light glinting off its sleek black surface* *it comes to a halt and settles down, and a stocky wolverine in black fatigues climbs out of the cockpit in the suspended "head" turret* C'mon, Elroar, don't be too hard on my otter bud there. Projecting messages across the galaxy is tiring work, and without a psychic or magician on the other end he had no way of knowing if he got through, so he just had to keep trying. *looks around* Besides, some of these people would put me to sleep too... or at least make me want to get the hell away and into some action. So. *leans against his mech's leg* What we've got here is a Titan assault walker. Maximum landspeed of 70 kilometers per hour walking, 130 wheeling along a smooth surface. It's got maneuvering jets and recoil-balancers for use in free-fall. *pulls out a laser pointer and indicates weapon mounts* Twin HEDP chainguns, plasma flamethrowers, electron whips, swarm rockets, anti-tank missiles, surface-to-air missiles, cruise missile launcher, guided artillery cannon - five meter accuracy from five clicks away, even without a designator - and my pride and joy, a military-grade, extended-range fusion cutter. It'll slice through a tank column at a hundred meters. Best part of all is the nano-assembly plant; lets me store a minimal amount of assembled ammo and a bunch of raw atomic matter for assembly. Just give me access to the right materials - ore, scrap, a little bit of more expensive stuff for the missile guidance systems - and my ammo supply is basically unlimited. All this answers only to me. It's a cybernetic link and is keyed to my brainwaves. So. I'll give you first offer, Elroar, because my wizardly friend signed on with you - but you've got some convincing to do if you want it. First, as much firepower as this thing has it's only one unit, and if I start to get swarmed I'll want some assurance that you can get me some sort of support. And second, I don't really trust that Manchia guy. Order is all well and good, and things are more peaceful under a single authority - assuming that single authority does his job right. But the end does not justify the means. So convince me, Elroar. I'm listening. *lifts his chin* They call me Prometheus, and I'm the one they turn to if they need something to burn. ------------------ Fire mission, over... :: Rhiann is totally confused! Why should any male want to rule something, when they can be coddled and pampered on her homeworld? Besides, no male could possibly be stronger than the tribe who raises him; the elders would not allow it. After all, only a Matriarchy is superior. Even Nature shows that. ::

Pardon my asking, but who all of the Avatars (or anyone around in general), is on the side/helping of Elroar? Mages can burn themselves out. But I'm not a Mage... I just know a few tricks, that's all. Then again, I also know that the 'magic' you claim to practice is all just a trick too... I'm not a fighter unless I need to be, but when I need to be I handle myself pretty well. What I am is a traveler. Always been so. First I wandered the night sky in my more natural form as a constelation. Then I figured out the trick of projecting myself into a few different planes of existance... and since then I've never stopped travelling. I've travelled enough to know the differnce between a purple emoticon and a blue emoticon... and how to tranform them into something much happier. ::sigh:: Oh well. Guess Elroar's too much of pussy-cat to test his skill against Manchia, and Manchia's always has been something of a scardy-cat-- that's really why he hides behind all the people he calls his 'minons.' Would have been something to see though... but I'm pretty sure Elroar would have won anyways. Elroar can take on Zen-Dao by himself, and hold his own at least, though Zen-Dao's got enough enlightenment to pull through at the finish line. Manchia always hides behind his men. Gemini

I find you tiresome, Gemini.*to Prometheus* Don't call me an... oh, never mind. *rubs temples* Those slipgates always give me such a headache when they form... be glad you don't have magical sensitivity, my friend. Captain... I've managed to contact a detachment of harrkani that could serve as a capable crew; large, strong, hardy creatures, lupine-humanoids, rather intelligent and they don't bicker amongst themselves... but they are picky about the people they work for. I don't think they'll even tell me where they are, knowing what Manchia has done with the emoticons... *sigh* I will, however, keep looking.

*The galactic gate opens* *The ground rumbles as a massive machine steps through* *A Krogoth* (Image gratuitously ripped from Cavedog.com. The Krogoth is (c) Cavedog entertainment. Please ignore the hovertank.)-Some background information. -The exact size of the Krogoth is disputable. Current estimates have it ranging from anywhere between 100 feet to 100 meters tall. -The Krogoth was designed by the Core as an attempt to finally end the Great War. They are still considered prototypes. -Being Core units, they are operated by patterns. Minds copied into machines. They are effectively immortal, and can be duplicated or transmitted. -Krogoths are covered with disturbingly thick and heavy armor. They can withstand nuclear explosions, LRPC rounds, and even antimatter detonations caused by Commanders. -Krogoths are armed with three main weapons: -A head mounted Annihilator laser. Among the most destructive weapons used in the Great War. The maximum range is undetermined, and depends on conditions. But be warned: If it sees you, it can probably shoot you. Also, its head can swivel 360 degrees independently of the torso, so don't wait for it to turn around. -Two arm mounted heavy plasma cannons. These have shorter range, and lower stopping power, but a much higher refire rate than the Annihilator. -A back mounted twin heavy rocket launcher. These have about the same effective range as the Annihilator and higher reload speed than the plasma cannons. They are guided, with full anti-air capability, and fire in an arc. Thus, even if it can't see you, it can still shoot you. -Krogoths make a very, very large explosion when they die. Objects within the blast radius typically die with it. -It is recommended that Krogoths be dealt with using overwhelming force. Preferably, at long range. [KROGOTH: ARRIVED AT TARGET POINT] [KROGOTH: GUARDING GALACTIC GATE] [GALACTIC GATE: RECHARGING] If anyone has any complaints about the presence of the Krogoth here, please attack as soon as possible, because once the Gate recharges, another one's coming through. Along with the Commander and its personal bodyguards. That includes: 3 Dominators, 10 Levelers, 5 Copperheads, and two squadrons of Rapier gunships and Vamp fighters (10 units each). The construction crew's also coming in at the same time, too. Once they dig in, have fun trying to get them out. You have twelve hours until the next force arrives. [OOC]Now, if anyone has any REAL objections to the fact that I'm not using my own creations or that I'm pushing up the arms level too much(neutron bombs), just say so, and we'll pretend this never happened. I'm only doing this cause I'm a Core loyalist and it's one of my favorite factions/governments/empires.[/OOC]

[OOC]Even leaving aside the fact that these aren't your creations, it's an INSANE amount of firepower - even on its own. Especially since the thing's near-indestructible.The Titan(my own design) can punch through some heavy defences... but it's prone to being swarmed, and can only take so much punishment before the armour starts to wear thin. There's also the possibility of some mechanical failure keeping the heavier guns from taking effect... pilot error... etc. I'll withdraw the mech anyway if that's still considered too much. But before this degenerates into a power-fest, could we backtrack it to just good, fun roleplaying?[/OOC] ------------------ Fire mission, over...

OOC don't worry about the power levels. The people who started this thread (Elroar, Manchia) are Avatars, as are Lachesis, and most of the rest of the Zen-Dao crew, who have the ability to wield god-like powers whenever they need to, but choose not to because life gets boring otherwise. You may find yourself surprised when/if Dork Lord takes over control of your piloting systems, or Lachesis simply decides to tug on your life string to remind you of her control over your mortality-- or the Magical firepower Elroar and Manchia can throw at thier own whims. This isn't your typical board war-- we're pretty much keeping to our own thread and there's no real rules-- it's mostly kept on freeform trust. Uber-Mecha, Gods, Mages, housecats... these things are all fair play.

*The gate opens once more* *The Commander and it's invasion force, including a veteran Krogoth, step through* *A defensive perimeter is set up as the Commander and the construction crew begin setting up a field base.*[transmission from CoreCom] [WHO CALLED FOR THE ALLEGIANCE OF THE GALACTIC CORE] -I don't think Core forces really have piloting systems. The patterns probably have full control of the machines, instead of just telling it what to do. Like an oversized suit of power armor. -Since when did patterns have life strings? They probably aren't considered "alive" in the first place. And besides, if one "dies," there are thousands of backup copies. -Magic? Anything along the lines of antimatter annihilation? Galactic imploders? -Krogoths can be stopped with the right tactics and with relatively few, if any, losses. But I'm not saying anything.

Hey infantry Kbot! Yeah, you, AK!If you're not going to do anything with your own characters (you did create them right?) and are just going to use that Core army, send them away. And everyone else! They're machines! Use EMP! RFLRPCs can easily stop a Krogoth army before it gets in range! Or Shooter-class sniper Kbots! They can cloak and also have Annihilators!

[OOC]Some of us can't just pull an armada out of the air, though. As far as I know, the only large-scale fighting vehicle Elroar has is MAYBE the Gold Moon(one assumes the refit will, among other things, make sure it's combat-ready). Unless he's been hiding something. My own magic is utterly useless here. Are we facing another magic-user? Hell no. And even assuming Prometheus DOES get over his distrust of Manchia and sign on with Elroar - not a very likely situation - a Titan would get ripped to shreds by one of those things AK just brought in an army of. Tactics only work if you have the right sort of force behind them. This thread is quickly losing its appeal. If things don't take a quick backtrack, I'm not staying with it. Character roleplaying is fun. Massive armies do not lend themselves to it.[/OOC] ------------------ I AM!

Elroar himself said that this war would be of an epic scale never seen before. AK just brought us another step closer to that. But it appears Elroar himself may be unable to keep up. How disappointing.Kirian, seeing as to how you are among the more sensible of your group (probably the most) and how obscenely unbalanced the coming battle will be, I present you with a small division of the Black Fleet: -5 Ramships -5 Bun Boats -3 Destroyers -1 Cruiser -1 Carrier They are biomechanical constructs and are fully self-sufficient. They do not need any crews, and furthermore, were not designed to support any crews. Details: Ramship -2.5 km long -very light shielding -medium armor -high speed and low maneuverability -dorsal twin plasma battery -ventral small torpedo pod -two 1.5 km long claws Gun Boat -3.5 km long -light shielding -very light armor -high speed, high maneuverability -dorsal and ventral twin plasma batteries Destroyer -4 km long -medium shielding -medium armor -medium-high speed, medium maneuverability -dorsal twin plasma battery -forward arc projector -ventral medium torpedo pod Cruiser -5.5 km long -heavy shielding -medium armor -medium-high speed, low maneuverability -forward arc projector -dorsal and ventral medium torpedo pods -port and starboard twin light rail turrets -ventral twin medium rail turret -dorsal quad medium rail turret Carrier -6 km long -heavy shielding -medium-heavy armor -low-medium speed, extremely low maneuverability -two forward anti-fighter twin cascade turrets -two forward heavy rail guns -two ventral medium torpedo pods Standard small craft complement aboard all carriers: 75x Scout/Light Fighter -extremely low shielding and armor -extremely high speed and maneuverability -1x missile pod with 20 missiles -4x light pulse lasers -2x AMS 100x Aggressor/Interceptor -medium shielding, low armor -high speed and maneuverability -2x missile pod with 40 missiles each -4x medium pulse lasers -2x plasma gun -2x AMS 50x Fighter/Bomber -medium shielding, medium armor -medium speed, high maneuverability -2x missile pod with 40 missiles each -2x heavy pulse lasers -4x plasma gun -4x AMS 50x Bomber -medium shielding, heavy armor -low speed, medium maneuverability -2x scatter lasers -1x cascade cannon -2x plasma gun -2x tactical nuclear/neutron/EMP torpedo -4x AMS 10x BioWar -extremely heavy shielding and armor -low speed, low maneuverability -2x scatter lasers -2x plasma gun -10x "necrosis" virus delivery system (used on planetary scale) 40x Multi-level Fighter units L1 (1 unit) -extremely low shielding and armor -extremely high speed and maneuverability -1x light pulse laser -5x missiles L2 (2 units) -medium shielding, low armor -extremely high speed, high maneuverability -2x ligh pulse laser -10x missiles L3 (5 units) -medium-high shielding, medium armor -high speed and maneuverability -1x gatling laser/scatter laser -25x missiles L4 (10 units) -heavy shielding, heavy armor -high speed, medium maneuverability -2x gatling laser/scatter laser -50x missiles Kirian, they have been attuned to your neural pathways. You, and only you, will have full control over them when they arrive. If any are destroyed, reserve forces will arrive immediately. If necessary, I will increase the size of your battle group. OOC: And yes, they are starships. What are the specifications of the Gold Moon? (30 minutes later) .:15 rifts open and the ships from the Black Fleet come through:. Use them as you wish, Kir- excuse me... Fleet Commander Kirian. Be warned, the deluge of information from the psychic network they communicate through may take a short time to get used to. Most are not accustomed to seeing the stars from the eyes of multi-kilometer long leviathans. But seeing as to how you are a magic user and you know your capabilities and limitations, I don't think you'll have much of a problem. As for your concern about the lack of effect your magic has on machines... If you wish, I can arrange for the installation of a... psychokinetic amplifier.

...my head... my poor head...*rubs temples* I think I have some idea of how a beehive looks at the world. I also think there's a slight skew to the situation... these are space/aerial forces, in contrast to the heavy ground troops. One force cannot readily engage the other. This is a strategic situation that Marak would refer to as "interesting". As I recall, he usually spat and reached for a drink after saying it... Urrrh. This will take a great deal of getting used to. I will meditate... both in an attempt to order this sudden rush of information, and to think on the situation. ------------------ I AM!

Recommend orbital bombardment using faster and more maneuverable capital ships so as to avoid ASAT defenses. Destroy large threats(Krogoths, LRPCs, missile silos), ASAT(LRPCs, missile silos) and AA defenses(missile, laser, and flak units), and it becomes simply a matter of moving in the small craft to perform a clean sweep. It also saves time to hit things that make large explosions first. Fusion plants, Commanders (but watch out for decoys), Krogoths, nuclear missile silos, neutron missile silos (kill these first, the Black Fleet is mostly ORGANIC), crawling bombs, and plasma turrets. Not much can be done about incoming LRPC fire other than maneuvering, but the numerous smaller turrets (not mentioned in last post) on the capital ships can act as anti-missile systems. However, the shielding should protect them long enough to raze a simple "field base." Don't wait for AK to start branching out.Krogoths really aren't that hard to kill. It's capacity to overrun bases stems from the fact that the defenders typically aren't fully occupied with it. Concentrating firepower at long range prevents a great deal of damage. And on a side note, something of that size will have a great deal of trouble getting back up after being knocked down. They also require a massive expenditure of time and resources, along with the highest position on the tech chart, so don't expect too many of them, and although with long range, their weapons cannot reach orbit. A demonstration *rift opens in orbit* *no ship comes through, just plasma* *lots of it* *on the surface* *large explosions stich toward the Core base in a line* *a hole is punched into the defensive perimeter* *flames shoot toward the sky as a Krogoth gantry and its almost-completed occupant are immolated*
