I apologize if this question has already been answered before (it's been done repeatedly, I'm guessing...)Does anyone here happen to know the names of all the icons and what exactly they do? Down on Elroar's board, he mentions that icon #11 (the eye) is the "Icon of Mythic Vision," or the "Mythic i," and that it "grants the power of cosmic insight and union with infinite." He also mentions that #8 is called the Cross Swords (or Cross Words.) #2, of course, is the Spiralling Heart... which appears to work as an aphrodesiac (at least the one time we saw Val use it in the comic.) Anyone know about the rest?

Ho-ho! Good, good!Someone here actually asks an important question. The knowledge you seek lies before the first avatar.

Oh joy. Well, I'm assuming that you're referring to Master Mu, as opposed to Zen-Dao... Hmm. Time to locate the Monastery, then... *slips on a kevlar helmet* And pray that he's taking visitors, I suppose.

Your assumption is incorrect.Let us see how many clues it will take for Dinadan to find the names of the icons (no helpers, please). Clue #2: Backward through the cards lies your reward.

Oh. There we go. I'm dense. #1: Dynamic Balance (Yin-Yang) #2: Spinning Hearts (Heart) #3: Measurement and Magic (Wand + Ruler) #4: Frames Within Frames (Blue Squares) #5: Circling Paradox (Question Mark) #6: Fools & Tricksters (Purple Mushroom) #7: Mind Mirrors (Green Brain + Mirror) #8: Cross Swords (Swords) #9: Get Together (Scales) #10: Laughter and Tears (Masks) #11: Mythic Vision (Eye) #12: Goodbye & Hello Again (Skull) Hmm. Elroar's commented on Mythic Vision... don't suppose someone could elaborate on what the others do?

Alas, knowing their text book definitions and being able to actually harness their power are two very different things.Harder still is confirming an original icon in this dream realm of multiplicities.

Another point to consider is: What do the icons reveal about the dreams yet to come?My guess is that the next dream will somehow involve the quest for infromation in some shape or from.

Now what this says about me... I have no idea. I got on an Adventure Card!... Cool. It's also a very good likeness of me.I'm in the bottom right.

Ouch. 2AM revelation... Probably faulty in its logic, but I'll drop it now while it's still fresh in my mind.Would a genuine icon be able to take any shape? The Maltese Mandala series was based on Dynamic Balance... as seen in the end when the Mandala is found, and that particular icon pops up in front of Zen-Dao. However, the Mandala wasn't the real deal. On the other hand, note the lighter that Zen-Dao has up until the very end, when he chucks it haphazardly away. Note the symbol it bears. I do believe that that was a Mystic Icon he just tossed to the street. Really, I do. I'm looking for the Spinning Hearts icon to end up just as callously lost by the end of this story arc, as well... It's pessimistic, I know, but it would explain why Zen-Dao's had to reincarnate time and time again. Dropping icons left and right... Hmm. I'll lay off for now... head hurts. And before I forget again, Mister Pigham, I'm much obliged for your assistance with the icons. *bows formally*

I could have told you that... At least I believe, that the twelve icons mean twelve past lives and all of them have a theme. Here you will find the twelve icons and their meanings. Note, that in the first icon it is said "Get in tune". I believe this means basically, that the Maltese Mandala was sort of intro to all other past lives. And by this you can determine much...

Oh, man, I'd love to get my greedy metaphysicist's paws on those things! They may be more valuble than the Tarp records, both in research value and useful potency! *Drools*

OOC: I'm not actually sure wether this should rilly be in the ponder section but still, here it is... What do each of the symbols stand for? I can work some of them out but not all. According to the comic, also, they seem to be people in a sense. Could someone please enlighten me?? I require this knowledge for my story ^_^, thanks.

I think I've seen a Pink Elephant symbol bandied around obscurely on this board. Any ideas?

The pink elephant comes from the pad of koans on which Zen-Dao wrote his masterwork on. He'd currently going through his past lives to try and remember what it was.
