::Sovan chuckles as he views the latest comic:: "If there was any doubt left that Val was Manchia's wife in this Past Life Parody, it's been completely swept away by this comic. And, as Icefox said, it would appear that Zen-Dao is awestruck at the sight of her. I'm guessing that he's automatically sensing that there's something unusual about her, that the Dancing Yin is different from most people in some unidentifiable manner. Has our ex-Transcendental Detective fallen for her already and doesn't know it? Is he getting some kind of gut feeling that tells him she's up to something? Or is Zen-Dao about to have a flashback of the events of the Maltese Mandala, the events of a past life?" ::The Star Dragon shrugs:: Like many other things on this thread, this is all merely speculation. Only time will reveal the reason for Zen-Dao's pause, as well as any plans that Manchia and/or Val might have."

Back to the Mawarra's thing. Is it just me or was that Pomeroy on one of those ice cubes along with Xastabos(sp?), Fantasy and Joshua, Kit' chen, ... Ishtun I think his name is..., and Jeri...Page 43. I'm pretty sure on all of those except Ishtun, Pom, and Kit. But I know for sure that's Fantasy and Joshua in the very bottom of the glass center frame.

Actually Alex, I'd beg to differ. Humans HAVE been seen in Zen-Dao's past adventure... but only as told through Pigham. Now, if you're referring to him having interacted with them, that is a different story altogether.

Yeah, but there in the real world arn't they and not in the dream. I wouldn't mind interacting with Zen-Daow. I might even let him test out his fighting skills on me.

Actually Ethoros, I don't see Zen-Dao as much of a fighter... unless you're talking a duel of the mind. His contemplation skills still amaze me, as well as his ability to manipulate the physical realm with just his mind. No need to call upon gods or reach out to the nearest ley line and draw upon it... just pure mental energy.

::Sovan walks over just in time to hear Jester Scythe's little joke...as well as the comments which soon spring up as a result. After several minutes of worried listening, he decides to end it before things get out of hand. Stepping into the center of the group, he holds up his hands in a 'stop' gesture and speaks loudly to get everybody's attention:: (Speaking in a pacifist-type manner) "Okay people, let's try and keep the discussion under a PG rating! In fact, I'd rather avoid this particular discussion altogether..." (His tone becomes beseeching as he looks at the others for support) "...Okay?":: Once his words have the desired effect, the Star Dragon quickly decides to change the subject. He is in luck, for Rein provides a topic when he resonds to what Ethoros says. Needless to say, Sovan is thankful:: (Thinking to himself) *Whew, saved by the thief.* (Out loud) "You bring up an interesting topic, Rein. From what I've seen so far, his understanding of mysticism gives him psychic-related powers--psychokinesis, mind-reading, levitation, teleportation...and, as you pointed out, the ability to manipulate the physical world to a limited extent." ::Sovan strokes his chin for a moment, then smiles wryly:: (To everyone) "And how about the powers of the other Avatars that we've seen so far, such as Hollis, Val, and Pigham? Anybody care to comment on them?"

"Pighams abilities in this setting have yet to be clearly defined, although they may be similar to those of an aspect of him in another life. He certainly has lackies once again, though this time though he also seems to be taking a more personal hand in things as well. I have to wonder why that is the case...""Zen-Dao's abilities require personal focus in order to be properly used. One could also assume that Hollis' abilities required such personal focus as well. Break that focus, even for just a moment, at a critical time and the results can be quite lethal."

I don't understand all the fuss. Anyway, I think Val ability must be seduction. and the white lighty thing on her chest. Not that I was drawn to it or anything. To be quite honest there is never really that much violence in the comic as there is throughout the dream, and the dream seems to be more of a fantasy world unlike the comic. I wonder what Ethoros would be in the real world? In fact could someone pm me with a suggestion. oh, and please keep on the comic character ability thing. I was just ranting.

i can't see where anything got particularly out of hand, myself. i think some avatars have a slightly over-developed sense of caution on certain subjects. as 'suggestive' subjects go, that all seemed fairly tame.but then again, maybe i've just seen so much come and go that the "risque" elements that others are sensitive to don't faze me anymore. :: shrugs :: lachesis

Ethoros, I'd have to say that I heavily agree with you on Val's abilities. A seductress. Entrancing the mind with the flick of a wrist and the kick of a foot. Her dance captivates all who see it. The "light" seems more like a focus point to project her power through, should she require it. After all, which is more damaging to the ant? The sunlight striking it normally or the sunlight striking it after being sent through a magnifying glass? As for Ethoros' place in the real world... hmmm... Well, I could see him as a boxer. Seriously. He has the build, strength, and speed to outbox just about anyone I can think of... ::Suddenly blinks:: Whoa... a fight between Bruno and Ethoros... there's somethin' you wouldn't expect to see... Uh, anyways, that's where I'd see Ethoros. Your love for the fight sort of limits the options (then again, most characteristics ALWAYS limit you to some extent) available to choose from. Though you don't seem like the martial artist type, I wouldn't put that past you either. Pigham seems not to have power so much as a charismatic attitude about things. Such an attitude gains leadership very quickly. The hookah, however, seems to be mystical in its own sense. It looks as if Pigham relies on mystical items and whatnot to provide him what power he needs and his personality to help win him over some subjects. Hollis' and Zen-Dao's abilities seem pretty much the same. However, his attitude seems to be rather paladin-ish. Very strong in his moral beliefs and the upholding of the law. I suppose this could give him an extra edge... but only in his self confidence. Believing that something is right and fighting for it tends to give you the confidence that you can complete the task. In the first Zen-Dao past life, that self-confidence turned out to be a temporary weakness, as we saw. Once he saw his wife and Zen-Dao, he dropped all his defenses... What he thought was pure and true turned out not to be so, causing his confidence to drop. Not just in his wife and Zen-Dao, but in himself. At least, that's what I've observed... ::Shrugs and waits for others to join in::

Yeah, thats what I'd like to see. Ethoros in a boxing match. I love boxing. What a brilliant idea. Ethoros will have to look into it.Lachesis, remember the arguement we had? That definatly got out of hand. With Pigham it not powers, more like what you know and who you know. Pigham is your average Kingpin sort of guy.

Ethoros: Sovan (presumably in his role as Forum Moderator) appeared to be stepping in to quell what he may have deemed a disruptive trend in this thread. i was opining that i hadn't seen it as anything over-the-top (more on the order of good-natured ribbing, actually), but also stated that my perspective wasn't necessarily universal.hopefully that's not quite the same as arguing with a GM. and yes, Pigham as Kingpin-type character seems an excellent analogy. although the Kingpin is not at all above getting physical himself, if he feels like it. Quinch: 159?

Ok, Auntie Lachesis. [ooc: Ethoros is death's son, Death is a god. Lachesis is a goddess, therefore she is sort of Ethoros' auntie. LOL]So what about wendy, what is her real role? and does she have any abillities?

since you're being polite to your elders, perhaps i'll tell you...a little.Wendy, as usual, is important in "nudging" Zen-Dao back on track--getting him to recall things he's overlooked, you might say. as to her abilities... obviously she's an extremely capable assistant in helping Zen-Dao manage his business. if the lady wishes to say little herself in regard to any other, perhaps extraordinary capabilities, it would ill-behoove another lady to countermand her desires on the subject. and that is that. but for more interesting speculations... who might be the researcher that Zen-Dao so admires and relies upon? guesses, anyone?
my vote would be for the Wind Wraith of the Wretched Wrags. lachesis

Ok think. What does he need to find out? 1. About this goddess in the painting. 2. About the womans grave. 3. What the above has to do with Val.And he said researcher. I'm think one of the following. - Cruiser, for his internet capabillities. - Master Mu, He knows many things - Lachesis, She's a goddess so she might know more. - Ethoros, Knows Gods and dead people. - oink Zeggpoid, he's sort of a researcher. But he's already got a part in the comic as a removal person. So basically to tell you the truth I really don't have a clue. We'll just have to wait and see.
