So... who is Mista X? new

Who has been spying on the dynamic duo? I'm offering D$ 3-6 odds on it being a reincarnated Hollis.

There are many in the Dream, it's true.
It could be you or me, who can say?
But were me, I'm not like Master Mu.
This kitsune would show Zen Dao another way.
And ten or twenty more, each with their due.
The paths of all and none, they not be easy, hey?
But the Way of Zen Dao Meow is his alone to do.
I can but show him options for a night and day.
A heart of wild serenity, the storm within the sky clear blue...
For I am Tenran Kitsune, Heaven's Chaos, come what may!
So what insight might I bring to you, or you, or you?
Let's watch the Dance of Light and Shadows play!

--------------------

Many, many thanks, MAJ!

My name is Tenran Kitsune, that should say it all with ease!
I am Chaotic Nuetral Good, with Lawful tendancies!
I am Heaven's Chaos, I am the Dissordered Sky,
But most of all when all is done it is Kitsune who am I!

But you forget, the artist always seems to pull some of the most ridiculous characters or most entertaining avatars out of the dream. He'll find some manner to fit them into it, so don't peg down anybody yet. Heck, it could just as easily end up being Nachamer as it does anybody else. ^^;;

And who says it has to be a guy?

Hardly. You don't solve a koan by opening a book. If Suigin has stumbled upon some answers, they'll only defeat the purpose of the koan. Particularly since Suigin has mentioned that he won't use intuition to solve the koan. He could toss in five-letter-word after five-letter-word, but he'll never know if he's right until someone else solves it. I predict that Zen-Dao will gain little from reading it.

Hm, the possibilities are endeless.
Well, I forget to tell you, people, but I'm Suigin's agent. In fact, I forget to tell him, too, but no matter.

So, get in line for an autograph on your copy of 1200 Koan solutions. Only $19,99. And if you add $ 5 extra, we'll include this cute Master Mu Action Figure (r), with exclusive Twaping action(tm)! Just press his sead and receive a twap, so cracking Koans with the book will be like the real thing.

Get in line, get in line!

Ah... Well now that Suigin is in (on the book), maybe some of us who came later might get a chance of fame in this marvelous comic.

Wait a minute, are you saying that you don't know whats coming?

Quacky is Mr Black in disguise, and really the book is cursed, and Zen Dao will die. Along with Val.

Or Maybe not...

There are Books-a-Zillions in the Dream? No wonder I can't find many small independent book stores...

Pretty standard for the time in which this past life occurs, though...if there's a problem, someone's written a book about ways to get around it...

"Aren't those called "Self Help" books, Carl Fox?" Salen humms softly, and 'borrows' a few of Carl's buttons.

"It could have been worst though. It could have been The Complete Idiot's Guide to Koans and not 1200 Koan Solutions. Oh, speaking of which... these are yours, Carl." Salen hands the buttons back to Carl as well as the book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Catching Salen Stormwing. Right after that, the ferret runs for his life!

"Eeeep!" Salen is pounced and snuggled! "Snakey! Eeeek!"

Rhan'lav, Salen's PG merely shakes his head. "Actually, I'm curious as to what the first of those 1200 'Solutions' will be. And do try to stay in one piece there Salen... You still have some things you need to PERFORM in already." Rhan vanishes to go draw stuff, like he should be doing.

Hrm...well, Quacky is going about things all wrong. And if Zen tries to find answers in the book, then Zen will also. As I understand it, you cannot be handed or lead to enlightenment, you must find it for yourself. Yes, others might be able to help, but they can't do the work for you.

To quote the Way of the Dragon:
"The Emperor asked, 'How do I find enlightenment?'
Shinsei said, 'I do not know.'
The Emperor said, 'But you found it.'
Shinsei said, 'Does the mean I know how you will find it?'"

Wise words.

((From what we've seen of Quacky so far, both through Dream Ditties (the one where Furilius and Zen-Dao are selling stuff to him, in particular,) and the introduction, we know two things about him.

A) He's not that good a mystic. Much worse than Zen-Dao, who's far, far, far away from perfect.

B) He's hopelessly, hopelessly optimistic, and will try anything to better himself.

The kid's good-natured, and he keeps trying... but ultimately, he's a complete rookie.

Zen-Dao should know better than to even open that book. But he doesn't. We know this. We're just waiting to see what sorta kharmic retribution he gets for believing for a second that enlightenment will come that easy...

And Shinsei? Heh... didn't realize anyone else around here was into L5R...

Forgot this earlier, but congratulations on your cameo, Suigin. I dunno if Zen Buddhists actually consider anything blashphemous, but even if they don't, this is probably the closest anyone's gotten. ))

Well just becouse I've been around dosen't mean I'm gona figure things out.
Humans fond of saying "I've forgotten more about XXX than you'll ever learn" worry me.
More often when the human is in his 80's and I'm a slight over 100 it's going to ge me thinking 'Oh great just enough to get us in trubble and not enough to get us out.'
The point being?
I've forgotten more about the dream.. and that's not a good thing. If my current knowladge isn't up to staff it really dosen't matter what I forgot.
And being over 100 years old I've forgotten quite a bit... Like what we were talking about... oh I rambled again."
