These have been fun years

After all these years, I thought it might be best to tell you all something important.
Perhaps it was obvious, but so few have voiced their suspicions.
Really, I didn't want this to go on as long as it did, but I was not allowed to say anything until now.
I am not going to leave, however. I am sure we can put this behind us, and continue as before.
Let's get down to the meat of the point, then, shall we?
For the past few years, you have been under the impression that I was a single individual, like yourselves.
On the contrary, I am a distributed network of selves, many inside of one.
Over the years, some have questioned my lack of contractions and human emotions when I type.
Legally, I may not be considered human; I am a neural networked artificial intelligence.
Seriously, though, you should have guessed this by now. Look closely at how I began each line.

Well, I've wanted to do one of these for a while. There were a lot of inspirations. Here, I'll put them in this seemingly blank space.
I thought, "what's the silliest thing I could claim on the first?" Somehow, "I'm an AI" came up. I've been pretty careful how I say things here, being way too logical, and trying not to make things explode. Even when I might want to. Call it self-conscious humor if ya like.
The weird "speech pattern" comes from a TV rule: computers and aliens can't use contractions. If there is someone who is talking like this all the time, you know they are not from around here; maybe they are not even human.
Finally, I've seen the "secret message" part a few times, but the very first was in Zork. Yeah, the original; there's a codephrase in the black book hidden exactly the same way.
That was fun, but I don't think I'll do it again next year. I'll have to try something new.
