Dream Outpost I [GG Crossover/Social/Open]
      #502787 - Tue Jul 20 2004 09:03 PM

(( The construction of the Dream Outpost can be found here, courtesy of Tizak. ))

Up until recently, Whitecrest's main claim to fame was its busy ports, both cargo and travellers arriving on a regular basis. Then, a gentleman known as Tizak acquired a large plot of land several miles to the north, and he and his associates began to build.

Time to construct an Outpost in the Dream. Too much happened here to leave at arms length. The Dream was a goldmine for recruits, and a heated trouble spot. There was no good reason not to.

Finally, it was finished. The building is a clean, appealing design, its colour scheme fitting in with the prairie land around it, and the river flowing past it nearby. It does not look like a fortress.

That was the idea.

With the structure complete, the infrastructure designed and built, and Dream Command and Control in place and online, the Gaming Guardians have their base of operations in the Napping Cat's Dream. What role will the Dream Outpost play in their missions within the Dream? Only time will tell.

(( For the most part, this is a social thread. Folks wanting to attack the Guardians will find out that the Dream Outpost is not without its defenses.

The GM's for this thread are Carl Fox and Tizak. Other GM's may be named in the future as needed. Carl is usually the senior-most Guardian at the Outpost, and is in charge of Command and Control (C&C).

Visitors familiar with the Primary Outpost will find that this Outpost is a bit cozier at the moment, but does have many of the features of its counterpart in the Primary System:

Atrium/Welcome Area - like the entry hall of a large hotel, with an information kiosk, some plants and a modest water feature. There are two security zones marked on the floor to either side of the room.

Cafeteria - a room with several tables, a large open floor, and (depending on who's on duty) food that ranges from delicious to inedible.

Lounge - a comfortable area with couches, a fireplace, a fully-stocked bar with all the trimmings, and a computer terminal.

Command & Control - the nexus of the Outpost, brimming with computers and equipment. GSS Carl Fox has responsibility for running Dream C&C. Unlike the Primary Outpost, Public Relations is handled off site, at the Welcome Center.

Motorpool - for vehicle and mecha storage. The motorpool is not as large here as in the Primary (and isn't a Transformer, either).

Jaunt Rooms - the jaunt systems are key to the Dream Outpost, allowing Guardians to arrive in (and depart from) the Dream in a secure location, as well as acting as a relay to get to distant systems beyond the Dream.

Rec Rooms - where Guardians and guests go to let off steam. There is at least one billards room.

Security Center - including interrogation rooms, camera rooms, and the brig. While the brig isn't as imposing as the legendary 'Sub4' back in the Primary, it's still not somewhere you want to be sent...

Debriefing Rooms - your standard large conference rooms.

Auditorium - for larger meetings and briefings.

Barracks - since being a Guardian doesn't really pay the bills, housing is supplied at no charge. Think of these as spacious dormitory rooms (if such a thing exists).

Library - home to a decent collection of reference material on the Dream, as well as a computer lab.

Medical Bay - The beloved 'medbay' where the sick and injured go to avoid death. Dr. Karin Arison can often be found on-duty here, having transfered from the Primary Outpost. (Karin is an NPC under the GMs' control.)

Chapel - A tiny, pan-denominational place of worship.

Random Isolated Nook - the perfect place for clandestine meetings and plottings.

When not visiting the Outpost, feel free to visit the nearby town of Whitecrest. More info to come there.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM. Welcome to the Outpost! ))

Shaye trotted up to the newish looking building. She cocked her head at it before padding shyly inside the entrance. It seemed big, and big places tended to have books. Books she might be able to have. She smiled to herself and called out shyly, "Hello?"

Atrium

As Shaye enters, she will find herself in a well-lit lobby area. There is a desk opposite the door, where a human in a green and white jumpsuit is sitting and reading something from a clipboard.

When the greenshirt realizes someone's entered, he looks up and smiles. "May I help you, miss?"

Above the Outpost site...

Aboard the spacecraft 'Porter's Bark', several kilometers above Whitecrest, Gaming Guardians Recruit Porter surveyed the Dream Outpost with his ship's scanners. He was very familiar with the site, having been one of those who helped to build it. Now that the landscaping was in place and the facility was open for business, there was no trace of the extensive underground aspects of the complex. In fact, it looked more like a small corporate research facility than anything else, hardly noticeable at all. The parking lot was rather small, and a single helipad in one corner of the parking area was the only obvious indication that the site was equipped to handle aircraft. And yet there was a long, wide, and very straight road on the property that Porter knew was capable of serving as a runway for small aircraft, and the helipad itself was capable of being lowered into the ground, to access hidden hangars for VTOL capable aircraft and Mechs.

Porter had joined the Guardians around the time of the D20 invasion of The Dream, but had never been very active with them. His main focus for his own operations had been here in The Dream, since this dimension still appeared to offer his best chance of providing a return route to his home stars. His service so far had amounted to little more than 'detached duty', acting as support and liaison for those Guardians who came to The Dream. Perhaps now, with an actual Outpost here, he might be able to contribute more to that service.

Porter opens a comm frequency to the Outpost, and radios a request for landing.

From his command chair, Carl turns to one of the staff nearby. "Status?"

"Recruit Porter's designated landing bay is clear and secure, sir."

Carl nods, tapping a key on his console. << Dream C&C to Porter. Permission granted; you're clear for landing. >>

Just like Porter, Magnus had been there when the Outpost was being built, however he only stayed long enough to help with the integration of power saving and amplification devices of Dra'zin design into the outpost's main power system. Past the point of stabilizing and leaving a manual on basic system diagnostics, Magnus had went off to return to his other exploits in the dream. Such as his work at Lady Marianne's shrine area, which had taken up a lot of his time recently.

However, the outpost's power "upgrade" had been a business transaction, and Magnus made one important distinction between his person-to-person sales and his person-to-organization sales. Whenever he sold to a large corporation he always made it a habit to go back and ensure his merchandise was working properly. And since this wasn't something simple like Terraglyph modifications, or upgrades, instead a rather expensive upgrade to a long-term outpost. Who's payment had financed his family's home in the Dream nearly completely, he felt greatly honor bound to double check that his changes hadn't caused any undo havoc. Especially since he had a two-year warranty which included free replacement and repairs on that contract as well, and Magnus wasn't in the habit of breaking a signed agreement.

So it was no surprise when Magnus came back to Whitecrest flying within his Terraglyph, Paladin Beta and landed on the shore of the river nearby to the Outpost. He removed the headpiece of his suit, remembering how many times before the dark surface of the helmet's visor had actually caused more fright than he had anticipated. With the helmet snugly sheltered under one arm, he made his way up to the Welcome area, and walked straight in, taking a brief moment to note the lack of a large crowd. Probably good, simple technical visits didn't require a large crowd to help with the inspection. They would just slow the work down...

He notes the official looking human in a desk on the opposite side of the atrium, and makes his way across.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for Tizak. Or somebody in charge.. I'm here to do a maintenance check on some of the work I did when the outpost was being built.. And also make sure that my safety manual had been read by the staff here.." Magnus says after he comes to a stop near the desk.

'Porter's Bark'

Quote:

Carl Fox said:

<< Roger Carl. Thank you. ETA 30 seconds. >>

Outpost Hangar Bay, underground.

Several levels below the surface, the lights brighten in one section of the vehicle bay, and rotating amber warning lights come on around the edges of a yellow and black striped rectangle that is clearly marked 'WARNING - KEEP CLEAR, Portal Assisted Landing Area'. The lights reflect off the surfaces of a grey and white quad wolf-shaped 75 ton battle mech in the next bay over.

A calm, authoritative female voice, apparently computer generated, sounds over speakers in the area. Spacecraft Arriving. All personnel keep clear of landing area P1. Repeat, all personnel keep clear of landing area P1. Arriving in 15 seconds... ten seconds... five seconds, final warning.

A frame of blue-white light forms around the exact edges of the marked landing area, and rapidly moves upward 20 feet. As this portal moves up, it reveals a boxy, pale blue space shuttle, which silently settles onto the pad. Before the portal vanishes, open sky can be seen through it.

A picture of a three-masted sailing ship and flowing script on the nose of the small spacecraft identifies it as 'Porter's Bark'. The ship is roughly 60 feet long, 40 wide, and 18 feet tall - a 75 ton cargo shuttle still bearing the markings and identifying numbers of the Polaris Cargomasters Corps.

A set of stairs extrudes from the top of the engine nacelle, below the entry hatch on the upper deck, and pivots down to meet the deck of the landing bay. The airlock hatch opens, and Porter steps out, looking around in satisfaction. He smiles when he sees the mech in bay P2.

"Good, good. I see they managed to get my Angel Wolf battlemech shipped over here from the Primary Outpost. That could prove handy. Well, time to take a tour."

<< GGR Porter to Dream C&C. Carl Fox, I have landed. All secure. I'm on my way up to the Atrium now. >>

From a tree perch several hundred meters from the new building, Hiyami studied the building with a watchful eye. She remembered hearing the name of the Guardians used in passing from the crowds from multiple cities, especially in reference to the Pyramid Mall incident. After spending some time watching the building, she looked down to her pet, who was lounging under the tree. "C'mon, Fluffy," she said as she hopped out of the tree next to him, "Let's go check it out."

After the brief walk to the front gate, the pair entered the building and began to look around the building.

((OOC: I personally forget if Hiyami was given the name of the Gaming Guardians when she was in the "Postcards" RP, so I'm assuming that she wasn't for now.))

As Porter descends the landing ramp of the Bark, he sees Myra and a pair of small robots approach the ship. Myra gives him a wave "Good to see you again, Captain. Don't mind my henchmen here, they're just hooking up the 'shore' power and com lines to your ship. I downloaded the specs for what Dream Station used for the same purpose and had Helmak run up some copies. It'll allow you to use Outpost gear to contact your ship, and I'm sure your ship's CompCent can prevent anyone from interfering with it." The robots move up to the ship to accomplish their tasks, allowing the Bark to draw power from the Outpost, and rest it's engines.

Myra meets Porter as he reaches the bottom of the ramp. "By the way, I've got a personal message to give you. Mind if I come along with you and tell you on the way?"

Hangar Bay

"Ah! Hello Lt. Myra! A pleasure to see you again. Are you in charge of the motorpool and launch facilities here now?"

A mecha canine steps out of the airlock of the Bark, and sits on the engine nacelle, observing the connecting of 'shore power' and other hangar connections. Porter addresses the black metal dog.

"Guardian: Standard watch - threat level low. This is a secured facility."

The dog 'WOOF's' once, and it's appearance shimmers as it activates a holographic simulation of a normal Bernese Mountain Dog's appearance. It's tail thumps on the engine nacelle as it watches it's owner depart. It sits alertly by the airlock hatch.

Porter gestures for Myra to accompany him as they leave the bay.

"A personal message? By all means. From whom?"

"I'm just helping out until the hangar staff all get here and get up to speed. Not to mention making sure that the facilities are up to handling Helmak's small craft. While I was at it, I figured you might be showing up and made arrangements for your ship as well.

"As for the message, it's from... Ceera Darkwynde." Myra holds up a hand to forestall the anticipated explosion from Porter. "I know, you don't like her much. In fact, she predicted you'd react this way. But something happened to me, and she thought I should tell you about it.

"A few weeks ago a group of Guardians were visiting the Dream on a tour. I was with them. We stopped by a place called the Pool of Dreams. While we were there, I... saw something in the Pool. I was thnking about my parents, and my base ship Sendak. Then I saw them. It wasn't entirely pleasant, but I could see that my parents survived the battle that sent me here.

"Ceera wanted me tell you that if I could see my family, the Pool might let you see yours. She also said that she knows you don't trust her, but that it's there for you if you decide to use it."

The powersuited humanoid blinks as Carl Fox says his name. If he wasn't encased in the layers of body temperature gel which augmented his movement, Carl would have seen a nervous twitch run up his back.

"H-how did you know my name?" Magnus blinks, "I don't recall being photographed during the construction.. Or.. Are you some manner of empath or psychic?"

One thing which made Magnus a little on edge was having a psychic about. The last time he had an experience with one, it had been a mercenary hired for Troy Altair, the son of the Republic's new head Senator. Eloquently known by his own request as "The Prince". As a self indulged child, Troy had a certain way of driving Magnus to the edge of a blind rage and kicking him over it. Magnus had joined his father and several of his more prominent distant relations in a meeting at the Altair's Council house in the Capitol. However, the mercenary was also there, as a sort of translator for Senator Altair. Since some of the more elder Senators spoke in the old language, which involved a considerable number of words borrowed partly from the Dragon's language, which was initially used on the island. As a second request however, the telepath continually delved into what Magnus was thinking as the various Senators spoke their piece over the boring topic of various measures of economical and industrial reform.

After the meeting, Magnus was spoken to about these thoughts. Specifically several which had thought when the Prince had passed along several rather scathing comments to his father to say to the assembly in regards to the Faustus Clan's contributions, or rather lack thereof in his opinion. One of which questioned the.. "legitimacy" of Troy's birth, along with several other derogatory statements with each ensuing strike against his family honor. After a rather thorough chewing out, and the High Senator confessing he expected as much from a beastial half Dra'zinian creature such as Magnus.

Needless to say this sparked a comment, not exactly pleasant tossed at the Senator himself. And a minute later Magnus was riding a strong toss out the front door of the Council house, landing in a row of rose bushes. Not exactly a pleasant encounter with a telepath...

"Well.. However you know my name, I'm here to check on the validity of the warranty I issued for my services when this outpost was being built. I added several power amplifiers to the design of your outpost's central generator. I need to see that they are being taken care of properly, according to the guide on DH Technology I gave to Tizak before I left." Magnus continues.

Hallway from Hangar Bay to main lift shafts
Quote:

Senior Fleet Lt. Myra said:
"As for the message, it's from... Ceera Darkwynde." Myra holds up a hand to forestall the anticipated explosion from Porter.

That revelation stops Porter dead in his tracks. His friendly smile falls to a very neutral look, his tail stops wagging, and a low growl rumbles for a moment in his throat. He does nothing else, however, and stands very still as he allows Myra to say what she will.

Quote:

Senior Fleet Lt. Myra said:
...
"Ceera wanted me tell you that if I could see my family, the Pool might let you see yours. She also said that she knows you don't trust her, but that it's there for you if you decide to use it."

Porter takes a deep breath and seems to count to ten before replying. He keeps looking straight ahead, and not at Myra.

"I... see. What did she charge you for that little peek? And can you be certain it wasn't merely an illusion? That she wasn't toying with your mind and showing you what you wanted or expected to see?"

He looks now at Myra wth a rather cold gaze.

"Did she bother to tell you why I 'don't trust her'? Did she even give you a clue as to why she was so certain that I would react badly to a message from her, no matter what the content?"

He places a hand over his eyes, as if to wipe away the memory of a persistent bad dream. When he looks at Myra again, he seems more friendly towards her. But there is still a hint of a growl in his voice as he explains.

"There was a time when I trusted Ceera. And she repaid my trust by using me. First she tricked me into using my talents to help her to steal things. Then she betrayed me and destroyed my entire life, leaving me marooned here in The Dream. She murdered my life! Tore me apart from all that I had worked for my entire life. My wife, my daughter, my career - all gone. And for what? So she could come here, to fulfill some sort of prophecy or destiny that she believed was meant for her."

"Myra, I would kill her if I thought I could do so, for what she has done to me. But she's too powerful now. I can't touch her. And she knows that. And here she comes, offering something that is more dear to me than my life itself, while acting as she had never done more to wrong me than to spill some red wine on my shirt? How can I trust her? She has no concept of what trust is, what honor means. The only thing that matters to that woman is that she gets what she wants, when she wants it."

Porter starts walking to the lifts again, at a brisk pace. When he gets there, he says only a single word. "Gymnasium." The elevator door opens and he steps in. He looks back at Myra while holding the door for her.

"I need to go to the training area in the gym and blow off some steam. You're welcome to come with me, or not, as you choose."

Myra will accompany Porter to the gym. She could use a workout herself, and she's sure Porter might be better off with a spotter. Or just someone to vent to while he thinks this one over.

"Believe it or not, she didn't charge me anything. And she said that what I saw was real, which I have only her word about. But, if she were going to try and trick me, why not make it less painful? If she was going to create an illusion, why not one where my mother was happy, or at least hopeful that I might be alive somewhere, rather than broken-hearted at the news of my 'death'? And she could have tried to say that I owed her for the vision and demanded that I tell you this. Instead she asked me to, and left it to me whether or not I tell you. Of course, this could have been an attempt at manipulation, figuring I'd be likely to go along if she's nice, but it might be just what it appears on the surface.

"And no, she didn't say why you feel as you do about her. She may have decided that it was better to leave it to you to decide if I should know or not. Or maybe she didn't, who knows. At any rate, I wasn't about to ask her; it's not my business, it's between you and her. It did seem a reasonable enough request to pass the message, and I've done so. It's up to you what you do about it, and I figure you're man... er... adult enough to make that decision on your own. But if you want an ear to bend, you know where to find me. Maker, you can probably locate my Guardian com and drop a portal nearby so you can ask me yourself. Unless I'm inside a hyper suppressor, I'm not sure if your portals would work inside a supressor field.

"Though it might be an interesting experiment to try sometime, now that I think about it."

As the call goes out, Carl turns back to Magnus. "I haven't received any reports of power issues, and our backups passed all of the drills before we came on line. So, hopefully this will be a routine check for you."

Looking behind me, the water turns icy blue;
The lights are dimmed, and once again,
The stage is set for you.

As Hiyami and Fluffy come into the Atrium, they are approached by a male greenshirt. "Welcome to the Outpost. May I help you?"

I believe one or two of the folks in "Postcards" were wearing the green-and-whites, and Hiyami may recognize Carl, who's currently in the Atrium.))

Hiyami smiled at the greenshirt. "Do you happen to have public tours?" she politely asked, before spotting Carl.

She remembered Carl.

She remembered screaming her head off at Carl.

Then the well-covered memories came back in a flood, as the young half-demon dropped her head. "Yeah....Are there tours for the populace?"

"Thorough intelligence? Why you people would expend resources to research who I am is beyond me.. Personally I think you'd be better off researching House Altair, the Empire's Royal family, or even the pirate's command structure.." Magnus answers, idly contemplating how much information about him they had amassed, "I have a feeling that whatever information you have about, might have a good number of flaws in it."

He shakes his head briefly, then looks over to one of the hallways where he guessed the logistics officer Carl was talking about would come from.

"Well.. It's to check up on how you're taking care of them. There are certain rules and regulations for ensuring these things don't become too unstable. Like not jarring them without proper shock absorption in place for one.. Let's just hope this is routine though.." He adds, "I'd hate to find that the two technologies aren't working well together, or that the amplifiers are not being well taken care of or something."

Rec Room 3 - Gymnasium

The elevator lets Porter and Myra off near the requested destination, and a sign in the corridor points the way. The door to the rec room hisses swiftly to one side as Porter approaches it, waits for Myra to enter, and then and he heads straight for a 'heavy bag' punching station. This one is designed to take the abuse of some of the stronger Guardians, with a layered Kevlar cover rather then mere leather or canvas, and a bag that weighs at least 200 pounds. Another station is nearby, with a duralloy mesh covered bag that could even take blows from the strongest of the Guardians, like Radical.

He puts on a pair of thin leather training gloves, from a shelf near the punching bag. Or rather, he tries to. He has to try on several pairs before he finds a set that fit his paws. He talks to Myra as he puts them on.

"Look, I know you're only trying to help. And if what you saw was for real, and if it would work for me... well, you can't imagine how much that would mean to me."

He walks over to the bag and starts punching it. Hard.

{WHAP}
{WHAP}{WHAP}

{WHAP!}{WHAP!}{WHAP!}

Each punch is now swinging the massive, body-sized bag a good three feet.

"Maybe Ceera really is turning over a new leaf."

{WHAP!}
{WHAP!}{WHAP!}{Kick!}...{WHAP!}

The last blows of that series was a side kick that knocked the bag to an almost level position, followed by a punch that stopped the swinging bad dead in it's tracks.

"But I can't forget what she's done before. She may be behaving herself here, but she's still capable of murdering someone in cold blood, just because they are in the way of her plans."

{WHAP!}{WHAP!}{WHAP!} - {WHAP!}

"I still don't know how many people she killed just to get herself here. My ship's sensor logs implied that several of the ships near mine were destroyed. And some of those..."

{KA-WHAP!}

That one punch just laid the bag out level again...

"... were my family. Brothers, sisters, cousins..."

Porter's paw glows blue-white as he delivers the next punch...

{WHAM! - THUD!}

The steel chain supporting the bag breaks free, as the power of that last punch knocks the bag itself a good twenty feet across the room. Porter's paw stops glowing, and he removes the gloves and wipes sweat out of his eyes.

"As far as I know, all those smaller ships were destroyed - vaporized. I'm not even sure the freighter that we were loading survived the incident. Maybe they were just knocked into some other dimension, like I was. But they didn't end up here, I know that. Ceera doesn't care who she hurts, or kills, if they are in the way of something that she wants badly enough. How can I trust someone like that?"

"As for your offer... thanks. Beta can give me your coordinates, yes. Between the sensor array at my base at Victoria's Peak and the sensors on The Bark, I usually have a long enough baseline to triangulate on just about any transmission. And a hyper suppressor field probably wouldn't stop my portals. They don't use Hyperspace. It's more of an n-fold in space-time. Dimensional stabalizer technologies can block or misdirect my portals. So can some technologies that are used to create artificial wormholes. And they can also get blocked by some types of spells that block teleportation or travel between dimensions, for some reason. But that's about it, as far as I know. Your technologies might have an aspect that could block me, but we'd have to try to be sure."

As they approach the gym Myra briefly considers ducking over to the ladies' locker room and changing into her workout clothes, but Porter's mood doesn't incline her to leave him alone. So she compromises, keeping on her uniform trousers and boots but unsealing and removing her uniform jacket, which leaver her torso covered with a white tank-top over a bra. She'd prefer not to work out in the bra, but taking it off might be... indelicate. For a moment she envies Porter, since he doesn't wear enough to worry about having to change.

When he starts in on the 'very heavy' punching bag Myra will start in on a 'normal' one. Rather than using her implant's full strength (which might ensure results similar to what Porter finally manages) she keeps them fairly low-powered, only about three times her organic muscles' power. Unlike Porter, who's obviously working out his anger on the unfortunate bag, Myra is keeping her punches lighter, more like a boxer's jabs. If Porter (or anyone else) was paying attention to her, it would be apparent first that she has lightning fast hands. Closer examination would show that she's actually hitting the exact same spot with each punch, placing her blows with the precision of a surgeon.

She listens to his tirade in silence, figuring that he's not really in a mood for discussion, more he's using her presence as an excuse to do a little thinking out loud. After he kills the bag she stops and looks over at him. "I can understand your anger. After all, until a few weeks ago I didn't know if my own parents were alive. And you're not the only one in this gym who's seen ships die. Officers I knew in the Academy died fighting the same rebels who attacked Sendak, and people I knew and had worked with died when we were attacked. I had been assigned to Helmak for three years, and only four others of her crew survived to board her when we were attacked. And those four died when we crashed here. So believe me, I know what it's like to see those you care about die. And, if the rebel planetoid commanders had arrived here like I did, I would, by the Maker and Breaker, have found a way to kill them. Whatever it might have cost.

"I can't tell you why Ms. Darkwynde made you this offer. I'm just a messenger. All I know is that, if her pool could show me Sendak and my parents, maybe it can answer some of your questions as well. But you'll have to decide whether or not to try it, it's not my place to tell you what to do, or even to advise you one way or the other. All I can do is tell you what I saw, and what I heard."

When Porter mentions the experiment with the supressor, Myra's glad of the change of topic. "I suspected your portals don't work via hyperspace, but our supressors can also be used to interfere with our fold-space communicators, which work on a different principle than our hyper drives. And it would be good to know if there's a way to block or deflect a portal. I'd hope we'd never find ourselves shooting at each other, but you're not the only one here that uses portals, and it would be good if Helmak can develop a counter to them."

Since Porter is a bit more calm now, she remarks, "Well, if you'd like we could do a little sparring, but I'd like to change into more suitable attire first. Not to mention asking you to promise not to do whatever that was to me." As she says this, she points to the remains of the broken punching bag.

It was there in the dark of that uncertain night,
They watched for the U-Boat and waited for a fight.
Then a whine and a rock, and a great explosion's roar,
They laid the Reuben James on the cold ocean floor.

Atrium

Valentine dusted down his Police Uniform a little. The uniform was, as far as he'd seen, particularly unique to his own homeworld; a Gaming Guardian may consider it to be something from Gundam Wing, old-fashioned but with a Sci-fi flare.

He glanced down to his boot where he saw his 'pet' sit herself down and start to look over the new building. Valli smiled, "Well, Mim? What do you think? Apparantly this one isn't the same as the original but it must be pretty close... think you'd like it here?"

The cat-like creature seemed to shrug, which can look rather weird for a cat to do, "Meh... I suppose it looks more like home than anywhere else we've been to..."

"Glad you like it, Mim..." Valli smiled and approached the front desk. "Excuse me, I'm Valentine Fellin. I was enquiring about joining the Gaming Guardians with a certain... Blob and a Mister Tizak... Are either of them around."

"Well, we don't regularly do tours," the gent replies, "but we are having an open house tomorrow for the folks in the nearby town. Of course, we'd be showing the non-restricted areas only..."
