((What offense? Didn't notice any.))

"So it's just the three of us, then", Ellian notices, matter-of-factly, though he would not be amazed if any of the other tour members suddenly reappeared out of thin air.

Atrium:

Kiera shakes Arden's hand, smiling a little more confidently. "Thank you. I suppose I have some questions, if you have the time... I'm an... interdimensional traveller of sorts. For a lot of reasons I had to... relocate. So I made a dimension jump, and suddenly I'm in an alleyway not far from here. I finally managed to get some directions, and people told me I could come here for help. This place is called the 'Dream'?" The tiger-girl's slit pupils wander around the Atrium, and study the surroundings. Her tail keeps twitching slightly.

Dormitory 3H

Dietrich wasn't much of an internal decorator. In fact, the only real change he added was setting up a small radio on the desk. Bah...he had more important things on his mind anyways. Thus he'd find himself out in the dorm hallway again, adjusting his tie. Hrmm...which way was the elevator again? Oh well, after locking the door behind him the gray man headed off.

“Yep,” Arden replied, giving the cat-girl a nod. “The actual name is the Napping Cats Dream, though most just refer to it as the dream. Legend has it that somewhere there is a sleeping cat who’s dreaming about everything that’s happening here. I personally have never encountered the cat, but that doesn’t mean that he or she doesn’t exist.”

Elevator->Second Floor

"Well, there are two others as well. Sarah is Ceera's twin, and Krinele is a fox-lady with a lot of tails. They keep everything going."

As the elevators open, Karol ushers Kara-chan out. "This floor is very quiet actually. We have computers for work, and some classrooms, but they don't see a lot of use."

Atrium - to West wing
... and nose to nose with a dragon!

Sable flies out of the Atrium and into the West wing of the first floor. He sees Sarah approaching, and greets her,

# Hello Mistress Sarah! #

Then he glances back over his shoulder to make sure that Ian Enderion is still following him. Unfortunately, it is at this moment that Magnus transforms...

# Right this way, sir. The storage room is the first door on the Left, after we pass the elevators, it's ... #

He turns his head back in the direction he's flying, and sudenly sees Magnus, wedged in the doorway of the Infirmary.

"MrrOOWWWLLL!" The feline lets out a startled yowl as he almost flies into Magnus' open mouth!

Backpeadiling franticly with his wings, the Nermic lands in front of the storage room door, and stares at Magnus' dragon form filling the hallway.

# What! Oh! You startled me. Er... how did you get stuck there like that? Did you try to come in through the Infirmary's emergency entrance? #

OOC : Magnus is in no position to see it right now, but the Infirmary does have a very large set of doors that open to the outside, specificly for access for larger patients... BIC:

Looking back at Ian, he says apologeticly ...

# Er, don't worry. It's a dragon, but I'm sure it can't harm us. The door next to me leads to one of our storage rooms. Look in there, and you'll almost certainly be able to find some clothes that fit you. Maybe not the most fashionable items, but good quality. If you want fancy clothes, I can direct you to a few places in the town, near to here. #

Purrrrrr! Thank you, Porter!

West wing, first floor hallway

Sarah smiles at Sable's greeting, then turns at his yowl.

"What? Oh my! Magnus?"

She walks up to Magnus, and stands beside Sable.

"I'll take care of this, Sable. I see you have someone already to take care of."

Sarah looks like she is fighting not to grin at Magnus' perdicament. And she isn't winning that fight.

"Well! Got yourself in a bit of a jam, have you?

(Again, sorry for the late reply. Life got a bit hectic... again...)

Library

When asked if she required further assistance, Celeste thinks for a moment before shaking her head with a smile. She didn't want to be a burden, after all. When told about the water, she blinks suddenly and looks up...

The clouds disappear quickly as the girl frowns, replaced with a slight warmth and shine. The air becomes rather fresh... and then all reverts back to normal as the young girl focuses on the book she has in her hands.

(Eek! I blame the schoolwork for my lateness!! ...sorry, I just got stuff that needed to be done...)

Karol's Office

Alicia sweatdrops and laughs nervously. "Yes, I know what that's like..." Her smile quickly fades for some reason as she enters into some deep thought. Even her wings begin to droop slightly.

"I wonder if the garden at home is doing well--"

Rec center

Given that Chad doesn't have the best sight, it's not surprising that he misses the pixies current loaction. Right now she is sitting atop one of the various excercise machines, a taller one with many bits and parts.

What is currently going through her tiny mind? Events long long ago that she's only remembered since she came into the Dream. Now that she's remembering them, she's even more bashful around these other, much larger people.

I wonder, should I talk about it? It's been so long that I didn't even remember so I never talked about it. Somehow talking about it makes it feel more real, and it hurts to think about it. But should I try and forget about it entirely? It doesn't seem fair to the others. The least I could do is remember THEM.

Tiny crying noises escape her throat as she wipes away the tears making globules over her eyes.

I've only ever told Nyx before, and he seemed so angry that I didn't tell him everything. I didn't want to voice everything that had happened. I don't know if I'm even ready now.

I...I can just try to live as best I can. As the only one who survived, Don't I have an obligation to do at least that?

Fae Gardens

As soon as Kaliana confirms Astara's question, he pulls her towards him and hugs her. He whispers.

"Thank you. So much. You don't know how much that means to me..."

After a few seconds, Astara lets Kaliana go again, though he doesn't immediately lets go of her hand. He puts the pendant back underneath his clothes and looks around.

"Let's have a little walk around the gardens shall we?"

Astara takes a step towards one of the pathways through the garden.

Fae Gardens

Kaliana smiles as Astara hugs her, and hugs him right back. When he keeps holding her hand after the hug,she blushes slightly. She closes her hand around his somewhat and follows him into the gardens.

"They call these the Fae gardens right? Have you ever met Fae before?" she asks Astara.

"Certainly," the man replied, giving her a curt nod. "My name is Arden and I too am a bit of a dimension hopper, though mine is due to my job. That's why you peaked my interest. As a newcomer to the dream, I could sense that you weren't yet fully a part of the dream."

Fae Gardens

As Astara slowly walks on, still holding Kaliana's hand, he seems to think for a while.

"Hmm. No, I don't think I've ever seen one. They don't exist on my homeworld and I've only been here for a very short while now. Heh. To be honest, I don't even know what a Fae is supposed to look like so I wouldn't know if I would have seen one anyway. I guess they're small, judging from the size of the housing around here. You have at least seen one of them, right? I mean, you've already been here for a while."

Room 2C

There really isn't much for the griffin to do besides watch Karol work, though he does so with interest. So much so that the feather duster may find it's way in between her hands and the handle she's trying to install. Not intentionally, he just gets so fascinated by the inner workings of the "door" that he forgets he's holding something. But he notices after a moment and backs up again. He glances down the hallway for a moment, and sits, waiting.

Ceera's Apartments

Rhiann listens to what Ceera and Honey have to say, glancing occasionally over to Silver Fox to see if she has anything to add. She picks up the modified cup and sips the super-sweet tea, grimacing at the sweetness now and setting it aside. She whines and points at the tea, making a brushing motion as though discarding something unwanted and looking back into Ceera's face. Once Ceera replaces her tea, she takes only two spoonfuls of sugar to sweeten it and sips again, sighing as she sits back and shakes her head.

Random room, 2nd floor

"I saw those stars the night I awoke. I know I am not on Par'uk. Now you tell me this is not your world either?" She gestures at the sphere of light and the tale he tells. "Now you try to tell me that it was our people, not the Sauk who did such damage. Why?

You showed me a Pardu worker changing the numbers without knowing he was doing it. You showed me warriors who pushed buttons, causing the fires in the sky. How can you know that the Sauk didn't do it themselves? How can you know they didn't make those warriors do all those things themselves!"

Hsaarra pauses, then gasps as she realizes she's shouted at the Sun God and called him a liar. Ears limp she attempts to drop off the bed and onto the floor to lie prostrate at his feet again. "Forgive me, Sun God; I have angered you."

Atrium, in the presence of Arden and Kiera

"In the Dream, nothing is necessarily what it seems," a voice declares, coming from the direction of a statue of a black and crimson unicorn. Fading into view, a short human wearing a black old-style suit over crimson vest and with a black shirt and equally crimson tie under that. Walking forward in absolute silence he continues, "What you see may not be the truth, and what is true may not be what you expect. I am called Santos and like Arden I welcome you to the Dream, Kiera.

He passes between the two of you and right through the desk, turning around as he brings a clipboard out of a drawer and sets it up on the counter. "If you wish to stay, you may select a room and stay as long as you wish to learn about your new home. Arden, I am sure, will escort you wherever you wish to go.

"On the other hand, if you are hungry or thirsty, feel free to visit the cafeteria right over there,"
he points over to the open doors to his left. "Everything is free, with no strings attached. However, if you wish to repay the Center in some manner, look up Sarah or Ceera Darkwynde, Krinele or Karol Lewis and make an offer. I cannot promise they will accept your services; but then again, that I know of they have never refused unless there was good reason.

"Just so you know; As long as you stay within the bounds of the Welcome Center, no harm can come to you; you cannot die, and you cannot kill anyone should you try. The Wards here are powerful, preventing harm and damage to the residents and the environs. Here you are safe from any who would wish you ill."

Kitchens with Jacquetta

(( GM - To add to Krinele's description:

You can assume any equipment (pots, pans, blenders, utensils) that would be in a small restaurant or hotel kitchen. Everything is spotlessly clean, as if it had never been used. For the most part, the kitchens have seen very little use. Like the rest of the center, everything is constructed from modular systems that could potentially allow for re-arrangement or upgrades.

The pantries will be very well stocked with the freshest of ingredients, and fall under the "look for it and you'll find it" policy of the storage rooms.

The automated kitchens are activated by voice, and have an interface point inside the kitchens as well as the window to the cafeteria. They perform their duties fairly quietly.

Finally, there are several unobtrusive robots stored in a small closet. These mindless automotans handle basic chores like busing tables, refreshing the buffet and transporting supplies to the automated units. They also take voice commands.

))

Karol's Office

Karol gives Alica a sympathetic smile. Not wanting the girl to dwell on obviously sad thoughts, she rises and opens the door. "Well, why don't you go take a look now, and see how they are doing. The center's automated maintenance bots have been taking care of them so far. You know how the storage rooms work, but if you find you need anything specific, you can let me know."

Second Floor - Classrooms

Karol takes little time to show Kara-chan the classrooms. They are both large rooms filled with rows of desks on rising levels. A projector, blackboard and other standard institutional items are at the front of the room.

"No school I'm afraid. We added these rooms with the hope that they'd be used, but no one has shown much interest. I've occasionally run some orientation sessions for newcomers here, but that's it."

"The gardens are much more interesting, in my view."

Room 2C

Karol gives an involuntary shake as Ray of Sunlight brushes against her with the feather duster. She wonders what the griffin wants with it, but feels it would be rude to inquire. As she gets the last screw in place, she gives the small creature a large, triumphant smile. "Okay! We got it!"
Hoisting herself back on her feet, she waves Ray back into his room. "Lets give it a try, okay?"

Mezzanine

( As Lyraxus seems to have vanished, I'm going to drop this interaction. )

Karol rises with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, I've got to take care of some stuff soon in my office. I'll be there the rest of the afternoon if either of you need anything."

Karol gives Sutara a breif nod as well, then walks off.

Outside The Atrium Doors
No matter how advanced the civilization, it seems impossible to avoid the paperwork. Forms must be filled out, filed, copied and then passed on to the next poor schmuck in charge of making sure everything as it should be.

When said poor schmuck, one Garatan Julobo of Xankaro V, is distracted by an incredibly bad day - beginning with discovering a large dent in his new travel cruiser, and ending with the announcement that his mother in law would be visiting for a month - , then it's not surprising that a form or two might get misplaced or mangled.

In this case, Garatan's aggravation at learning that his mother in law and her three exuberant and noisy pets would be making their home in his guest bedroom was translated into a forceful kick to the base of his data entry unit and a muttered expletive that was incorrectly translated by the jolted unit's speakers.

When the shipping form Garatan had been working on was finally printed out, the inter-dimensional delivery instructions were not quite what they should be. While a cruise ship supply chief a half dozen parsecs over waited futilely for the last of his automated passenger assistance units to arrive, a large brown box was quietly fizzling into existence just outside the Welcome Center's main doors.

(( Small note: Krin's still here. Just elsewhere as well. You get used to it... ))

Outside Atrium Doors

Let it never be said that vixens are not curious sorts. Even a DreamSpinner is given to such curiosities. Particularly speaking... newly arrived packages, addressed to the Welcome Center, without being ordered, were technically gifts.

And would be processed as such, being quickly brought inside the Atrium by a suddenly appearing instance of Krinele. This one happens to be in technician overalls, if anyone's paying attention, and once inside sits down on one of Stony Grey's cousins (that is to say a bench), box in hand, and opens it.

Granted, it's just over a week early for her to be getting presents, but it has to be something fun...

... yes, and she'd have to do something to her PG for letting that little bit out, as well.
