Romana nods, listening to everyone talk about things. She did tend to find that listening to others was one of the best ways to learn about them, even if you yourself said nothing at all.

Luckily for Hawkwind, the directions Romana gave were fairly easy to follow, and the forest was sparse enough, and trails well traveled enough, that the going was easy enough for now. A few hours likely pass, Romana chatting about this or that, before perking up a bit.

"Just so I know, what tends to be everyone's specialty? Magic wise that is? Besides the help in getting to our destination, it may be handy to have a little help during the ritual itself. If you didn't know, I was planning to make a magical book. One which appeared, by volume, to have about two hundred pages or so, but actually held ten thousand. The book could also act as a mystical focus of sorts for my magics, and... well, I am uncertain, but the dreams I've designed this by were fairly clear that the book could somehow 'defend itself' as it were. Still not sure exactly on how though."

She stretched and looked up, some slightly gray clouds beginning to move in the further we seem to travel.

*** OOC/GM Comments ***

I do heavily apologize for my prolonged absence. I have recently lost work, and have been spending a good deal of time trying to remedy the situation.

I will be looking in, and still participating, even if it is a bit sparse. I do truly apologize once again.

The posts have been excellant, and I do look forward to continuing this thread.

In response to Hawkwind's comment about outdoor theater, Ariel responds "The Orion stage is built for theater under the stars, though it's currently closed for the winter. I'm not certain the lobby is quite built for someone of your stature though."

When the question of magic specialties comes up, Ariel pauses a moment, then responds. "Water and air magics are my specialties. This extends some into cold magics, but my accessible powers are rather limited." As she speaks, she lightly fingers the bracelet on her left wrist.

OOC: For those PGs who wish to read through a tour of the NCPAC, you can look at this thread, which was a tour Karol ran of the dream. I participated, running the final tour of the trip at a fairly break-neck pace.

I myself find i'm drawn mostly to the earth magics, followed by water and fire. Air magic is that which I am weak in. If I were to wake the spirit that dwells within, I could do more but that is a most difficult task and extreamly draining. but should you need it I shall do so.

Romana, having seemingly stared off into space, shakes herself back into reality. "I apologize I was out so long... I must have been out nearly all day." Indeed, the group seems to of traveled quite the distance, and the late afternoon sun is in the sky, a few clouds coming closer and threatening to cover it up.

"So, any of you ever make any magical items or that sort of thing? I'm pretty new to the whole idea myself, so I could use some advice." She smiled a bit, digging into her packs in the cart. "Oh, and if anyone is hungry, we can stop for food and a break."

Romana's question stops the sprite in her tracks and she falls a few yards behind the group as she mulls it over, before racing to catch up, with the assistance of a sudden tailwind. After she lands on the back of the cart, she responds to the question in a quiet, slightly uncertain voice. "I think I have, but I'm not certain. If I did, I don't remember anything like what, why or how." She fingers the bracelet again, and gives a faint involuntary shiver.

Romana simply nods at the sprites apprehension as she speaks, "I take it you... have some memories lost to the ages then? Don't worry too much on it. Sometimes the past is best left were it lay. Maybe this will be able to help you on your path in life. After all, what's the worst that could happen?"

She looks over Hawkwinds blade and smiles. "A smith and a warrior born I take it? I need not know the particulars. Just that you are as skilled as you are in miracle enough for me. And yes, this seems as good a spot as any. I'll get a fire going if you ladies wouldn't mind setting up a tent or two? I'd tie things down too. I don't like the look of those clouds..."

Indeed, it appears there is a storm brewing from the earlier approach of weather, the wind is low, but it looks as though rain will soon be the order of the eve.

Hawk starts setting up a tent that looks to be big enough for 13 people. Once the tint is up she starsts unfolding a portable table, cot, andsetting up a water clock of some kind. there is room for Romana if she wishes and the others if they don't mind getting cozy. She exits the tent and thrusts the sword in the ground out front. Chanting softly she traced runes around it. There is a soft reddish glow that radiates out to about five feet from the edge of the camp. "Ah the wards are set. should keep out minor intruders and give pleanty of worning if anything worse than a bear should come near, as well as sound an alarm shoud anything other than ourselves pass through the barrier."

"Enough gaps to make swiss cheese look solid. As far as the worst that could happen, one possibility is a bad case of magic backlash." ((PM for the GM on that subject))

As the storm brews, the sprite extends out her senses to see if it looks to be anything other than just a summer storm.

Once the camp is set, the sprite settles on the top of the tent to rest and possibly brood a little.

Romana starts gathering up some twigs and dry leaves, and circling some stones. She takes a tiny puff of her breath, setting the fire going rather quickly. She gets some bark and larger twigs from the area, setting it to a low burn. Looking over to Ariel she just smiles a little.

"Don't be sad. Maybe helping in this way will bring back or restore a part of who you were. Just remember though, who you ARE is always a choice only you can make, no matter the past."

She looks at the work Hawkwind does, paying attention to the runes especially.

"Very nice work, that will probably come in handy. Don't need bears or animals and such stealing our supplies!"

As for the storm above? It is magic influenced, but not caused. The gathering fields of "Mana" seem to be drawing it nearer and faster than usual. It is a natural, if rather rare, occurrence. One which tends to heighten magics energy at gathering points, like the "nexus" the ladies are headed to.

The sprite pays some attention to the magics used, starting the fire and setting the wards. Once the fire is started, she takes a few minutes to settle next to it. The sprite listens to Romana's words about her memories, and gives a quiet nod in response.

As the evening progresses, she takes a little time to eat dinner, then flits up into the sky to clear the mind.

The sprite finds the winds are picking up a bit, in equality to the approaching storm. The night is otherwise quiet though, a cricket chirp here, a owl hooting there. She is left, for all intents and purposes, alone. This especially depends on how far she gets from the ground.

Time to reflect and time to plan are both afforded her at this point.

Romana, meanwhile, looks to Hawkwind. "So, you think we need a watch or shall we simply sleep in comfort? And you need any more food?" The food, of which there is little left in the pot after a healthy serving or two, was a simple rice soup.

"I am good, thank you love." Hawkwind smiles finnishing off some of the fresh veggies she had brought with her. Leaning back she takes a cigar from her pack and a brand from the fire. She lights the giant sized cigar, before lightly tossing the brach which was about match sized to her, back into the fire. "This is nice. Nothing quite like being out under the stars with the one you love and a few new freands."

The sprite spends a good 2-3 hours in the air after eating, roughly until moonrise, dancing through the low clouds. She stays within about 1/4 mile of the campfire as she wings around.

When she returns, she settles on a low perch near the rest of the group, listening to any discussions of plans for the upcoming ritual, and responding to any questions about her (limited) abilities. When the group turns in for the night, she settles on top of Hawkwind or Romana's backpack, using the clothing contained within as a sort of bedding. If it is decided to have someone keep watch through the night, she volunteers for 3rd watch.

Romana just nods, eating the last of the soup for the night before cleaning everything a small distance away from the camp. As she comes back, she sighs slightly. "I don't think we will need a watch with your wards Hawkwind. I did want to talk about the ritual though."

"I believe with what we have, and each of us concentrating on our elemental specialty, we can channel all the energy needed into the book. The compression spell is the easy part, enchanting the symbol on the cover is not. That is what will take most of the energy of the elemental types. The better balanced it is, the better off the enchantment will be."

She looks nervously up at the moon, speaking slowly "It will need to be balanced... this is my first real work of magic. I don't know if I am ready or not. I just pray..."

"Dragons guard knowledge on high,
summoned low as the time is nigh.
Three of the center, balanced through you,
guarding the knowledge of writing that's true.
Serpent of the circle we find,
for all the worlds knowledge we bind."

"The only spell I know... that spell, came from the vision of this book." She laid out the large scroll from her pack, showing the design of the book and the incantation. Three celtic knotwork dragons, of copper, silver, and gold, surrounding/holding a black diamond, surrounded by a platinum symbol of the Ouroboros, the serpent eating its own tail, meaning eternity or eternal power.

"I only pray we make it in time."

[gm note]

Okay folks, coming to a rapid nearing of the final days of this adventure. Though I know I myself have been guilty of lagging posting, I can honestly say the faster the better.

I dont mean to push folks, I just wanna make sure it is wrapped up before the closing of the dream. So far we have many excellent posts here, and I could not be prouder. Regardless of what comes, thank you all for being here.

Oh, and feel free to post as often as you would like, so long as everyone remaining has posted at least once. Trust me, these days, I will be able to keep up!

Happy Dreaming!

The sprite gives a wry look as she learns about the plans. "I hope you'll be able to accomplish things if I'm channeling a bathtub worth of potential through a soda straw. If there are concerns about making it there in time, we probably should try to get on the road again as close to dawn as we can. And to do so means we probably should try to get a good night's sleep."

The words of the spell will be on the sprite's mind as she sleeps, trying to mull through the meaning.

Hawkwind nods towards Romana and ponders. "If I keep pulling we should make it with time to spare. But a good nights sleep will be a verry good idea. Your metaphor of channeling that much magic through a soda straw is more accurate than you know especaly for me. I know i'll not get through it unscathed. but it will be worth it, for the one I love." She puts out her cigar and makes her way to the tent to sleep.

Romana just nods as she soon joins everybody asleep, putting out the fire shortly before coming in to the tent. She sleeps very soundly actually, hardly even a stirring in the night.

Those who feel their magic and think on the spell however, get the feeling it is one of two things, possibly both: either a creation, or a summoning.

The only legitimate question, at that point, being: Creating or summoning what?

Romana sleeps deeply, and though there may be a wind outside, it is not too rough. Being so close to summer however, whomever is closest to the tent flap may find themselves getting sun on them just before 5am. It doesn't last long though, as a cloud soon floats darkly over the brief morning respite.

The sprite sleeps slightly uneasily, but wakes shortly after dawn. As she does so, the lingering question echoes in her mind, but she shakes it off as she chases down breakfast. As the other two start to stir, she wakes them with a soft "Good Morrow."

When the others start to break camp, she will take a bit to scout ahead, looking over the upcoming terain.

Hawkwind carefuly releases the wards, which disapear with a soft *whomf* and a gentle air burst. She then helps pack the wagon and as soon as all are abord starts out at a somewhat brisker pace.

Romana stirs somewhat slowly.... though the two with her may indeed sense she is much more highly charged with magical energy than usual. She hands out some good breads and veggies for breakfast, and helps brake camp with the other two.

Luckily for Hawkwind, the ground is rather smooth, near bare rock in this area as the trees themselves are thinned to near nothing. Ariels spotting can see the rise of the altar about two or three miles off in the distance, with a smooth track along the way.

The clouds however seem to be near swirling over that spot, even despite the eerily quiet lack of wind.

"Almost there.... I can feel it in my veins. Destiny..."
