The Great Bonus Card Race [Final Stretch - #'s 112-115+winners]
      #14085 - Mon Jan 14 2002 10:56 PM

THE GREAT BONUS CARD RACE
(Round 12 of 15)
Sportscasting by Furilius Pitch

Emerald images emerge of the Big Board depicting scenes from the world of Jaitera, home of "Tigerboy" Jayce Toranosai. The familiar image of the confidant, relaxed and handsome Jayce emerges. And who better to create Jayce's image, than his own creator god, Andrew Graham, the latest Psychedelic Artist.

On the track, Tawnyblaze looks none too happy about her recent lack of progress, still at the 80-yard mark. Demon-hunter, Donevan Blake and the electricity-absorbing raccoon, Stormpaw, gain 10 yards, creating a three-way tie in 3rd Place.

In a startling development, the diminutive elf, Pidge Tangleweed makes a phenomenal run for one so small and finds himself scooting solo into 2nd Place.

Brahma yawns and takes another enormous step. He is now 15 10 yards ahead of the closest competitor, quite comfortable in 1st Place. There's only three rounds left and Brahma hasn't even worked up a sweat. Can anyone overcome the minotaur's long lead and even longer legs?

From the Big Board loudspeaker a sound emerges.   How pleasant, it's the sound of a carefree tune from a vagabond harmonica.

Well, I dunno 'bout you, but "vagabond" sounds "gypsy" to me. Maybe that "bad fortune" will change to "good fortune" this time for me.

"GO JAYCE!"

**Leaps up and down and claps, then runs over and gives the kitty a hug.**

"Congrats on the card. Ya did a great job on it as well." (I offically want you to do my card. *grins* You have a way with anthro children.)

**Relizes she's been a bit lax on the congratulating thing, so she goes to the others as well. Stopping first at Sibyl she smiles.**

"Congrats Sibyl! Nice work Oni. Ooh...Can I have some pizza?"

**Then she goes to Splotch, and hangs back a bit, but smiles**

"Congratulations on your card. Very nice, if a bit creepy."

**Then to Loatoz (er...I think I got that wrong.) ex Moiety and extends a hand with a smile.**

"Congratulations. I hope we can put our little argument behind us?"

**Then to Silvermoon, with a small grin and a wary eye for the blades.**

"Very pretty card. I like the little bladey-things. Congrats."

**Then on to Kenderafflon. (I know I forgot the apostrophe...gah! Can't remember where it was placed.) She doesn't know him, so she just stands there with a polite smile.**

"Congrats on the card. Very interesting."

(I'm leaning towards Timon for the next card as well.)

Wouldn't that mean that Brahma's lead is a mere 10 points and not a full 15 as our dear Salesfox reported?

I believe Elsa is correct. It was last round when Brahma had the 15 point lead. (Too much catnip punch at the pOnju party!)

OOC: Wow. So many pretties I entirely lost track. Congratulations Jayce, and Kender'lon, and Silvermoon, and especially Lotaoz (I expect to see that card gracing the pages of Villainous Confusion soon...)!

IC: Kit *hmphs* jealously, and returns to her reporting.

Well, well, well. So much to report. Since our last update, Kenderaff'lon, a character of shady aspect and even shadier reputation has received a card. Clearly, Furilius has been testing the water -- and, by his own admission, the catnip punch -- in an attempt to determine if it is safe to continue introducing his criminal sponsors. The provision -- or should I say bribe -- of new artist Jayce Toranosai with his own card, in complete violation of the previously posted avatar award guidelines simply reinforces the deviousness with which our sly salesfox furilius has used the cards, as a way to cement his own personal power structure. Looking to the future, it seems likely that one Timon the Gypsy will receive an avatar card, confirming suspicions of corruption and foul play. Timon, hailing from a band of travellers reknowned for their generally amoral ways, is clearly yet another of Furilius' test subjects, this time hiding behind a thin veneer of morality and goodwill.

While I'm pointing things out, Isn't Jayce's comic 'Jaitera: The Emerald World' As opposed to kingdom?

Jayce, the card text is on layers so it's easily fixed. Pls confirm the exact name of Jaitera.

Noisette, I trust FL's stats better than mine, so unless you say otherwise I'm going to employ some illegal time travel and adjust the previous sportscasting.

Additionally, If FL, Rein, Karol or anyone else who enjoys listing stats is interested, I really need a list of all uncarded avatars as of a certain date that includes
1) how many posts they have
2) date of profile posting
3) and (if even possible) days since their last post.

I want to be as fair as possible with the cards but it's getting beyond my means to keep track.

And Kit Kannidy, Who let that nosey reporter in here anyway?!, yes, Psychedelic Artists and some webcartoonists (such as Syke) will get bumped in priority simply because they can provide their own artwork.

Not a problem for me to do this. From what date do you want this from?
