Moderator Appreciation Project
The following is not a contest. It's merely another context to show off your art and say "thank you" to some of the moderators (both active and historic) who have put in a lot of work over the years and don't always get the same kind of rewards as other creative contributors to the site.
This project concept was inspired by Neema and her lovely (and unsolicited) gift art of Ishtar that was created specifically to add some variety to our forum header titles:
Create a picture of one of the moderators you would like to say "thank you" to and each week I will select one to be used as a temporary alternate forum title graphic.
The graphic should either be...
79w x 96h Portrait
and/or
Figure illustration on black background that fits within the area around the main forum TITLE
(don't worry about leaving room for the subtitle "In.../At.../The..". I will reduce or remove the subtitles temporarily)
CREATE is just used as an example. Any of the moderators (historic and active) from any of the forums may be chosen. But make sure that if you chose to do the figure pic that you leave room enough for that forum's main TITLE (they do vary is size) and that the background is black. Portraits can have any background color.
Depending on interest, I will probably post one a week. They may be black & white, but color is preferred. Post them here to this thread...and feel free to say why you chose to illustrate the moderator you did!

WELL! it looks like i get to start! -^^- Im sorry its not so good. im a bit backed up on requests and just really wanted to give something back to the most awsome comunity ever! i just wish it was more and that i had more time to work on it XD hopefully i can do more when life calms down a bit.

Now I didn't start this project just to try and get more pics of myself, though I am happy to accept.
Oh, and so everyone knows, Pigham isn't a moderator of PITCH or any other forum. I'm not sure why he was included on the original PITCH Title, but I should probably remove him eventually.

Perhaps because after Furilius, Pigham's the biggest 'businessman' in The Dream? I think it's sort of appropriate to have the porcine con artist there, myself.

What if somebody does a person that somebody else wanted to do, is it okay to submit another one for that person? Because I know who I wanna do and I'd be like "oh crap" if someone else were to do him.

Oh yes, Cave, we can have a dozen Arc Nova ESCAPE titles and a handful of Kai Takahashi CREATE titles. That's kind of the point actually.
Each week we can mix things up a bit and have slightly different art on the title graphics, depending on what people submit.
Eventually, as interest dies down, we'll likely go back to the standard ones, but if people keep giving us new art, I'll keep them rotating weekly.

Personally, I like the idea of continuing to rotate to keep the variety even if there's no new additions, so long as it's not too much trouble to change them regularly.

Just to reiterate...
Please post your submissions here, do not PM them to me.
They can either be isolated pieces of artwork or you can post them edited into the title graphic. Since I may re-edit the title graphic anyway, all I really need are the isolated pics. But either way works for me.

Actually Pitch, I remember seeing a PHP script somewhere that randomly selects and image from a group of images than displays one. I forgot where the link was, but if you could get it to work than you could keep all of the regular ones and have the altered ones appear randomly for each user.

I think those scripts were abandoned earlier because of the way they burned processor resources. It might not be quite as bad with just some headers, but then again, it still burns resources a lot more than static headers that get modified once a week. Perhaps a script could be written that changes them all once a week.....

The ad banners in the upper right will already be a rotating feature once they are finalized, so I don't want to overwhelm the site with too much visual noise.
I also don't want this project to become an additional maintenance burden for Karol and myself. We'll upload some new titles every week or so for a while as there is interest. But we may eventually wind down the project and return to permanent title graphics.
