Look Out Below! - An Introduction
      #75639 - Thu Aug 23 2001 07:10 PM

It's quiet in the Dream. The sun is shining, the grass is green. Suddenly, about 15 feet up, a gateway opens. Out of this gateway steps a young man, whose look of relief is replaced by one of sheer terror when he realizes where he is. He has about enough time to mutter, "Oh smeg!" before he hits the ground.

Jason stands up, brushing himself off, checking for any serious injury. Finding nothing more than a few bruises, he turns to his bag.

"Let's see, computer, check. Hitchiker's guide, check. Towel, check. Red hat, check. Good, my stuff's OK at least."

He looks around. "I wonder where I got dropped this time. At least it's quiet here."

"Well if getting a purple and green rose from a skeletal jester with claws and wings, while having a bondage happy, miniature ufo with a mad scientist penchant the local wildlife follow you around. Then Yeah, The napping cat's Dream IS a quiet place." Leh quips from the branch of a nearby tree, microsaucer buzzing merrily and glowing through blue and green. She jumps down from the tree, bugger in tow on it's leash. "Though most of the people here are quiet friendly and peace luvin' folk. Welcome to the Napping Cat's Dream. I'm Leh Murah."

*DRRIITTZZ!* Red flash.

"And that's the bondage happy miniature ufo. Meet the bugger." She chirps sardonically shrugging in the direction of said object. "I'm sure everyone will be swarming here in a minute. So what's you're name?"

::Stays hidden behind a tree::

"Yeah kid, what's your name?"

::Thinks that the Dream has seen too many newcomers already... but isn't complaining. He eyes Leh from the shadows of the tree and the little bugger in tow with extreme interest. He draws his dagger, looking at the leash for a second and then resheathes his blade::

"...Pet..."

Mist chuckles from another branch.

"Of course some of us don't need to come swarming. New comers just seem to pop into favorite hunting or napping spots!"

With another chuckle the old cat shifts to a sitting position.

"Welcome to the dream sir "

Jason smiled. "My name's Jason. Jason Argosy." He looks around at the assembled group, and smiles. "This place is incredibly calm compared to where I dropped in from. But from the sound of it, it sounds like it could get pretty active here."

He pulls out his copy of the Hitchiker's Guide to the Multiverse, and checks for any entries on the Napping Cat's Dream. "Hm, that's funny, not a thing."

A very large, quadrupedal dog with shaggy black fur goes charging past the group gathered here, followed shortly by a swarm of wasps and there after a female Ibizan.

The anthro-Ibizan stops running, “Blasted Nachahmer! Get back ‘ere ya jerk!”
She wears her normal attire, camouflage shorts, green mid-riff revealing tank top, long red hair braided to a point just above the small of her back. Her left forearm is covered by the chitinous, egg-shaped weapon pod today.

She pants, out of breath. “Wish ‘ed just up and die already.”

Looking around, “Oh, sorry. I’didn’t realize ya people were nap’n an’ greet’n an’ such.”

Turning to the newcomer and extending her right paw, “’Ello, me name’s Tessa. Mind if I ask yours?”

Jason shakes the paw, smiling. "Pleased to meet you, Tessa, I'm Jason Argosy, h4x0r and engineer." He glances down at his 3V1L L33T t-shirt, and cargo pants stuffed full of cables, and grins, a bit sheepishly. "The hacker bit's rather obvious, isn't it?"

There is a crackling noise as a gate is opened.

A white wolf, wearing a white uniform with crimson borders, steps through.

He's holding a EMP projector, and it's status indicator is at "charged and ready".

He aims the projector, inquiring, "what kind of hacker? Aquiring information, malicious destruction, idiotic asshole, or just a programmer?"

"Alright then, I'll take your word for it."

Killfrenzy pulls the power cell from the projector, and both parts disappear.

"Holy Figi, it appears I'm not teh only one 'round these forums who plays at being omnipitant!"
Yang walks out of thin air to reveal the owner of that hollow, contralto voice to be a red-head wearing all black and heels. She surveys the scene with red eyes hiding something--as though she'd just heard some great joke that made her cry. Yang walks in her regular sultry way up to Jason and extends a hand.
"Howdy there, stranger. I'm Yang, or Caryn,as I've dubbed myself--sort of. And you would be?"

*Smeg, huh? Hey, Jason, you ever watch Red Dwarf?

Jason gulped, reached out and shook her hand. "Hi. I'm Jason."

He looked around. "Anybody around here have a name sticker? No?" He pulls a blank label out of his pockets along with a permanent marker, and writes "Hello My Name is Jason Argosy" on it, and then sticks it on his chest.

OOC: Love the show

Jason grins. "Hey, no biggie. It's just one of those hacker things - anything you do more than two times should be automated. By the way, do you happen to know where I can pick up 20 feet of telephone wire, about 10 square feet of aluminum foil and some duct tape? My Sub-ethamatic Thumb got busted at my last stop, and I need to jury-rig a replacement."
