Avatar Profile [Pysical Description/Equipment]

Celeste is an average human in most ways. At six years of age, she stands at three feet and four inches. Her skin is very pale and un-tanned, and her figure small and petite. Her eyes are a bit mysterious, as they can appear red or green, depending upon the angling of the light, as if they were holographic.

She dresses in a simple set of denim overalls, wearing a white t-shirt underneath. Her blond hair is tied into a single ponytail, topped with a white bow.

She has been mute from birth (her vocal chords were deformed, preventing positive growth), but understands speech well. She can think of what she wants to say but lacks the physical capability of producing sound. Her writing is a bit messy (aren't most childrens'?), but can be read.

She carries with her a blue backpack everywhere she goes, given to her by STrRedWolf. Inside, she has a tablet and stylus used for helping her to communicate (also given to her by Red). She also carries with her an umbrella of non-descript color, given to her by Kakemaru to help with her... "mood swings" (see below). In her backpack is a beaded necklace granted her by Nathan Wong, an assurance of sorts that her family will be protected from a particular source...

[Personality]

Celeste, like most children her age, is a little bit shy, but energetic. Upon making a new friend, she will do her best to keep him or her... though, situations have made that difficult thus far. She loves her mother and father dearly, despite the distress that she knows she causes them.

Her mood often remains the same, no matter the situation she's in. She tries hard not to become happy nor sad. She feels that she's cursed, in a sense, because of certain events that happen around her...

[Abilities/Powers]

Equilibrium:

Defining the "ability" that she possesses is a bit difficult. Just as there are opposite reactions to every action, there are opposite effects to each feeling that she has. Pain can fill the area around her with a sense of euphoria. Happiness can lead to a gloomy environment.

Just as a penduluum swings left, it will eventually swing right. As there is a yin, there is a yang. Every emotion she feels, the opposite occurs around her. She, too, is affected by her abilities just as anyone else around her is. However, the ability activates from out-to-in, meaning that the outer rim of the environment is affected first, before moving in toward the center (this indicates that she is not immediately phased by her ability).

The problem with this ability is that it cannot be turned off. Its origins cannot be determined, as the only energy readings that occur seem to be completely natural. They simply "shift," with no external or internal forces acting upon them.

[History]

This little girl was born to a pair of English noble-folk, Charles Patterson, a microbiologist of some prestige, and Elizabeth Patterson, a journalist. She was discovered to be mute soon after birth, so her mother and father kept a close eye on her, making certain that she wasn't attempting to cry for anything. She was taught the alphabet at an early age and she seemed to pick it up quite fast, writing simple sentences before reaching the age of three. At five, she was introduced to kindergarten, when her troubles began to start.

One month into school, the principal phoned the girl's parents, notifying them of "strange phenomena" occurring with their particular daughter. She was to be expelled immediately and brought to a doctor to observe the "behavior." Her mother and father did not believe the principal's claims at first, and kept her at home, Elizabeth taking time off from work as well as hiring a specialized tutor to come in when she couldn't manage to take time off.

By the time Celeste had reached six, the tutor had quit and her parents started to doubt the "lies" that they had claimed the principal's words to be. Celeste knew from the start about her abilities, but she was too afraid to tell anyone about them. After hearing her parents' argument about her, she cried herself to sleep. A sleep that she would not wake herself from... a desperate sleep to escape her mothers' worries.

Recently, a new force has popped up concerning the girl. Evidently, men in black suits (referred to as MIBs, for obvious reasons) have started reconnaisance of the girl, even attempting to "retrieve" her from the Dream. Celeste says that she has interacted with them before, as has her father... but she reveals no other details.

[Ambition]

To speak without...
