It is not certain whether Mu actually has eyes or can even still see. Mu has likely forgotten more special powers than most beings will ever learn. | | Description of Personality | | Master Mu, though considered a wise spiritual leader, has a stubborn, judgmental and cranky manner. Master Mu is very distant and it's difficult to gauge how much he genuinely feels for his pupils beyond his commitment to teach them. Mu's teaching methods include the use of meditation, koans and question & answer sessions. His most controversial method is the use of his staff to occasionally thwap! seekers whose questions he considers foolish or arrogant. | | Brief History | It is unclear whether a version of Master Mu and his monastery exist in all of Zen-Dao's past lives or if there is but a single monastery existing in a timeless space that is accessible via each past life. Within The Napping Cat's Dream, The Master Mu Monastery is generally considered to be located in the geographical center of the Dream for mapping purposes. Though the degree to which a multi-dimensional realm such as the NCD can actually be said to have a center is questionable.
In the Dream, Master Mu initially opened the monastery for seekers, but closed his doors soon after. He has since reappeared in scheduled chats to answer questions and deliver ambiguous pearls of wisdom. He reluctantly addresses the general public and considers such sessions to be a burden for him, a distraction for genuine seekers, and bad vaudeville for everyone else.
