Age:11 years of existence
Species/Race: ArchChimerae (spider) Ghost
Skin Color: Ghostly white skin with black stripes, black hair.
Eye Color: Empty red glowing sockets
Affiliations: Callie, her goth-punk human incarnation from King's Highway. Candylegs cannot currently recall anyone's specific face or name that she once knew as a result of dying. It is not clear what Callie is, other than an extension or a physical memory of Candylegs that seems particularly persistent. Their relation is close, but hard to describe, being 'the same person but different'. Callie seems to know most of what Candy did, and has the same confused spot in her memory concerning faces Candy knew when alive. Thinking about these things causes Callie visible distress.
Callie has no powers whatsoever (beyond opening a portal to Dead Moon) and her only real advantage is she tends to be more intelligent, modern, and willful than Candylegs. When she was alongside Candylegs herself, the two shared an emotional and telepathic empathy with Callie explaining subtle things Candylegs couldn't immediately grasp. On another note, Callie tends to become more embolden and less humane when on Dead Moon or near Candylegs. If you were to see her elsewhere, she becomes somewhat more human and uncertain of herself.
Callie's age is unclear, but she's probably around 17-20. She carries only fake ID (amongst things) in her black plastic beehive shaped backpack. She is often described as a 'dark eyed punky girl'. She is neither particularly good or bad looking, but her rebellious youth style of make-up and hair makes her look much less plain.
(A full up to date profile is not available currently due to her storyline in 'Interview with the Monster' and 'A Girl called Callie'. The old profile remains below.)
Age:8 years of existence
Skin Color: Tangerine, reddish hair
Eye Color: Empty sockets
Clothing: Brown buckled exposed shirt/corset, dark colored thong.
Affiliations: Candylegs has detached or perspectively warped opinions about most people, preferring to not deal with them in the first place. However, a few dreamers have managed to impress her in some way, enough where she would iniate contact. They include: Locustplague, Dark, Alynna, Gumba Masta, Jorick Soriano, Zento Mika, Gorgon, Hydra, Mouche, 313trophr3ak, and Torn. She has a strong preference for dealing with monster-like individuals whom she can closer relate to.
Candylegs made herself a 'little sister' called Red Queen (also an avatar here on NCD) out of a period of growing loneliness. Redqueen is a NeoChimerae of a megalopede design, bearing similar traits to Candy but much weaker and smaller. Her 'Little Sister' was around for her in the beginning, but soon struck out into the world, deciding the monstrous path and isolation of Candylegs was not for her. 'Red' simply went off to lead her own life, much to Candy's eventual chagrin. Red respects her 'Big Sister', but can't see herself living similarly.
Pets: None. Candylegs does have a personal assistant, however. From Hyperborea, (see the bottom for linking description on a Learn thread) she's a Poison Fairy female of about 4ft or so, dressed in variously in leotards. Her eyes are a glossy black like an alien, and is possessed of black hair. Her name is Sateira. At some apparent point, she seems to have annoyed Candylegs in Hyperborea, who then caught her and in exchange for something (assumably her life), she became little else than a slave to the spiderwoman. Sateira is silently kept in Candylegs' burrow in Hyperborea, rarely let out and not mentioned much. What she does exactly is unknown, but she is directly responsible for the bits of clothes Candylegs wears, thus demonstrating seamstress abilities. Sateira is sheepish, weak, and often keeps her eyes down when around others. It's clear that Candylegs is not terribly fond of her, and thus, she is rarely let out into the sun. Sateira is either very brow beaten or just terrified of Candylegs, so she says little.
1. Immunities: Personal magic/psionic nullification aura. Immune to poisons/disease. Unaffected by extreme temperatures/pressures. Nonadhesion to webs. Cannot be blinded (thus, can see outlines and vague descriptions in darkness but still nothing in thick mist). (Note: Attempting to contact Candylegs telepathically results in what sounds like radio static to the attempter.)
2. Supernatural: Can create 50' diameter EMP surges at will.
3. Natural abilities: Candylegs can climb walls like a fly.
Can instictively change her skin/hair color and tone, like a chameleon, to match surroundings or create crude designs upon herself. This takes no more than a few seconds sitting still.
With some effort, Candylegs can dislocate all joints and at will, slowly force them back into place. Employing this and the former ability allows Candylegs to cosmetically assume her 'Black Widow Hellion' alter ego.
As befitting a spider, Candylegs can produce vast quantities of silk, either from her hands or mouths. Her long dispersed arms allow her to spin such silk quickly. These black webs are narrow as twine, but sticky and strong enough to stop something twice her strength and weight. Such webs may be destroyed only by fire, although they are not outstandingly flammable. Alcohol, poured directly onto the stuck part of a person and the particular strand, will release said stuck part but have no other effect. Silk may be emitted from her mouths or fingertips, which equates exactly 83 seperate pinnacles it may be emitted from.
Her fangs produce a deadly venom which slowly kills any mortal being bitten, by a fever-like effect which destroys the body's ability to process/use of nutrients and water, effectively causing great shivering, intense sweating, weakness, and ultimately, death. The effect begins near immediately and completes in five minutes. Against supernatural creatures, such as fallen angels, spirits, angels, etc, the poison instead causes weakness of strength and stamina. Multiple bites will result in prey becoming comatose and helpless. The venom has no affect on undead except vampires, whom suffer a fire like inflammation from within. For supernaturals and vampires, the effect slowly fades over the course of seven hours per bite.
Another ability of Candylegs' is her ability to 'mark' a person. This is a spewed noxious yellowy liquid which allows her to track anyone splashed with it, as if a biological radar tag. The material may be washed off harmlessly with alcohol, otherwise, it dissolves after three days.
Candylegs may also see anything invisible/ethereal. How she sees is anyone's guess, though it may be considered 'blindsight', bearing the otherwise same visual acuity as anyone normal.
Candylegs has spiritual strength equivalent to roughly five elephants, but her true prowess comes in her agility, allowing her to scurry up walls in a practical half-second and perform great feats of acrobatics and dodging. Her speed allows her to use her fingertips as sharp slicing claws. Candylegs may perform powerful and nimble jumps equivalent to that of a flea (referred to in posts as a Flea Jump, respectively).
If utterly destroyed, she will collapse, fading off into spiritual fragments. She eventually resurrects at her lair, or closest approximation. Finally, she has an uncanny talent of mimickry.
9/29/03: Upon reaching her fourth year of existence, Candylegs found if she concentrated enough, she could hear the spirits of nature. Rocks, trees, wind, intangible dead or themed spirits. She has no control over them, but may communicate back to them silently by moving her lips. Sometimes, however, they only convey moods.
Mundane Skills: Candylegs has a narrow focus of skills she's competent in.
Her best asset is her ability to live off the land, since she exists in the wilds most of her days. Because she needs to be less picky than others in what she can ingest, this is more focused only on herself. She might not be able to aid another as well.
Candylegs does have a peculiar knowledge to operate some technology, although she uses it in a different way. For instance, to use a gun, she couldn't operate anything smaller than a rifle due to her size. Second, she would hold the entire thing in one hand and shoot with the pinky. Something like driving would have her standing atop a car with arms reaching inside. Mind you, she's not an expert at any. This is only competent operation. In the instance of computers, she can surf and send email, but she's a slow typer because she has to tap the much tinier human keyboards with a pen or straw.
Candylegs proves a very good swimmer. If not using her arms to move herself, she keeps them tucked down and slithers through the water like a sea serpent.
Weaknesses: Electricity equivalent to powerline voltage has shown she can be stunned for a few hours, though it does not cook her internally.
Can be harmed by enough concentrated radiation.
Can be harmed by attacks specifically defined as 'ki' that deal direct damage.
Deals with sensations of isolation and antisocial tendencies. She can't seem to find anyone to relate with, even those friendly to her. This amongst other things causes an inherent lack of harmony, because she tries but finds unending conflict by situation and her sense of self. This drives her back into an alien-like mentality and the vicious cycle of desired intimacy or social detachment begins anew.
Her bizarre appearance tends to scare people she doesn't desire to frighten, or drive them away from her. It also makes dressing up and use of armor near impossible if not custom tailored. Even by superficial concepts, Candylegs cannot typically operate openly in society or within civilizations.
Because of her nullification aura, she cannot learn magic or psionics. Candylegs can never make anything but mundane use of magic armor, weapons, clothing, or jewelry.
As mentioned above, Candylegs is incapable of recieving 'inner mind' telepathy. If your telepathy allows you to project your voice into the air, she can hear it then.
Although Candy does understand some modern tech (such as guns), she's not proficient in archaic weaponary. Bows are impossible for her. Anything more complicated than a rock, club, spear or a big knife, she lacks any skill in it and will probably use it in an improper manner.
S. Effects: Candylegs does not breathe. Whenever possible, Candylegs walks upons walls, ceilings, & corners as opposed to flat ground. She has no problems with heights and vertigo obviously. Despite her 'race', she is not undead, a ghost, nor does she have an actual soul. She's simply a corporeal spirit. In that sense, she is neither alive or dead. Candylegs can walk on her fingertips, preferring it as her locomotion. If slain, as per an unspoken mystic code, she will not seek to harm the one who did it unless harassed or harmed again by that person. All three of her heads can speak, think alike, and have the same personality, but by default, only the middle one speaks aloud, or they do so together. Candylegs talks in third person, indentifying herself as 'We'. For all purposes, counting heads and arms, she is multidextrous.
Despite being in existence for several years, her main sense of understanding of that around her comes from the fallen she was created from.
Blackwidow Hellion form: This is a superficial transformation that Candylegs adopts (voluntarily as a result of mood or motive) when she must be particularly ruthless, cruel, stealthy, or feels abnormally angry. It is a combination of her pigment shifting ability and that of stretching her bones slightly.
The Blackwidow Hellion looks like a burnt black Candylegs, but with longer limbs, wild black semi-spiky wild hair, leaner body, and bright red colored eye sockets that almost seem to glow. And notably, an equally red blackwidow hourglass on her sternum area.
This transformation does not make her stronger, tougher, or anything of the like. It is the equivalent of putting on war paint. Candylegs is less stoic in this form, so much as crueler and extra monstrous. It reflects her mindset at the time, and indicates she cannot be trifled with even remotely.
Personality: An alien minded monster. Her bottom line is she does what she must, with goals laying somewhere along the lines of balance and yet, outright suffering and ruthlessness. As herself, she has a very detached outlook about all of this, not seeing herself part of anything, since she was created in conglomerated fashion from innocent victims of war. Candylegs sees herself as a spider ridding the world of too many troublesome insects. She is inclined to study people before interacting and makes no differential at ideas of good or evil. Her motives can be difficult to acutely judge at any moment.
Outside of her hunting, Candylegs is intrigued by hobbies of doll collecting, gardening, esoteric styled rock art/arrangement, and beadwork. Candy can be befriended despite being a horrid monster. She is a relatively lonely and curious creature at times, busying herself with simple hobbies. Candylegs is not prone to talking if it can be helped.
11/08/03: Candylegs begins to slightly speak more to people, trying to behave like them. However, this is more akin to the mimicking of a parrot who can never be a human. She's since built herself a little sister called Redqueen to keep her company, but Redqueen soon went off on her, wanting to lead her own life. Candylegs has grown excessively lonely since this, perhaps one of the reasons she speaks more. She has come to understand her distance between herself and people. She refuses to be like them still, preferring the company of monsters or those who can accept her for the monster she is. She's rather unapologetic about this. She has also invariably begun the hobby of playing a Fiddle. Candylegs continues to become more complex in personality and motives as time goes on.
