Eran Makelwei
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Species/Race: Human / Silver anthro-fox
Height: 5'8" / 6'2"
Build: Gangly, about 170 lbs.
Coloration: Pale w/ shoulder length messy brown hair / Long silver fur
Eye Color: Silver, metallic.
Clothing / Armor: Black jeans, a dark blue shirt, black shoes, black jacket and a top hat
Occupation / Class: Wanderer / Hatter
Affiliations (family, friends, organizations): None, immediate family deceased, extended family unreachable.
Accessories: Top hat and an old dark jacket Long curved dagger with wells for poison Silver spear that splits into three pieces, it is decorated with a jester etched into the blade
Diet: Eran avoids buying food at any cost, unless he is genuinely starving; he prefers to harvest his own food from the wild. Eran has a mental library of edible plants and fungi, as well as a tolerance to any poison, the worst that will happen is a bit of indigestion, unless something is completely inedible. Eran also hunts game, generally anything he can chase down and kill with a dagger (squirrels, foxes, birds, fish, deer, stegadon)
Residence: Eran doesn't have a house, or even something as solid as a tent. Eran merely finds the most comfortable place to sleep and does so, so long as noone objects, or generally knows.
Whenever Eran enters a town, he finds a place to hide his stuff. This cache usually has all the required equipment for travelling (barring a tent or napsack) as well as a few useful tools, household items and all the food he collects.
Pets: A black mamba named Naga given to him by the Mistress of Serpents. Naga understands speech and will obey Eran's orders.
Abilities/Skills & Power Level: Luck, or at least it looks like luck. A high agility and ability to twist reality allows Eran to move insanely fast and take his opponents down in an instant while looking like he did nothing. Ex: Make scaffolding fall at the right moment as he bounds up the falling levels, have manhole opened by worker the instant a persuer runs over it, etc. All actions are deliberate, not random.
Eran is proficient at freerunning in city-scapes and wooded areas, and can go almost thirty miles per hour on a flat surface. As a fox, he is rediculously agile, and can hit nearly sixty miles per hour on all fours.
Eran can change at will from human to anthro-fox. As a fox he is faster and stronger, but as a human he has more control over himself. If outraged in fox form, he is likely to fight until either the object of his agression is defeated, or he is wounded badly.
Eran also has a strange ability to discern hidden abilities and information.
Weaknesses: Harming Eran's hat causes physical damage that cannot be regenerated.
Special Effects (if any):
Bloody Metal! If Eran is cut, a silver liquid leaks out, not blood. This mercury-like substance can induce assorted mental effects in things with centralized brains, especially if injected in related systems. Those that come in contact with this blood, if mentally unstable, have a chance of being posessed by a 'copy' of the Hatter, which has varying results and degrees of severity. All copies share a single mind. Eran and the Hatter have an agreement that all copies will remain dormant unless they can help their hosts.
It's only a flesh wound. If a wound is not deep enough to penetrate major blood vessels, supporting material, or vital organs, Eran is capable of healing within a minute. Deep wounds may leave scars if not cleaned in that time.
That was poison? Can I have some more? Eran has an unusual metabolism that allows him to filter out and incorporate poisons into his bloodstream as a self-defense mechanism. Generally, one deadly dose of poison lasts three hours in his system. Mercury is always present.
Wait, who... what? Eran gets easily confused by himself and may take a minute to answer questions, especially ones that could be taken in more than one way.
Rainy day blues When it rains, Eran is subject to a severe depression. Generally, his powers are nullified unless put in a stressful situation, including his speed and agility.
AHHHHHHH!!! MY HAT!!! The Hatter has grown so attatched to Eran's body that what harms the Hatter, harms Eran physically.
Description of Personality: Loves showing his insanity, generally to the annoyance of others. He also likes being cute, and loves to mess around.
Brief History: Eran was born in a slightly different versoin of "our" world, Chicago, IL. He took up work in his uncle's hattery (they specialized in making hats the old-fashioned way) at the age of 7, but after 11 years of employment, an accident involving chemicals from making hats affected Eran's mental stability. Eran developed many quirks, including an attatchment to a long dagger and a top-hat he made himself and the development of a 2nd personality: the "mad-hatter," who seemed to be triggered by stress.
Eran's accident drove him to be better (in a completely meaningless way) despite his problems. He spent the remaining five years of his freedom mastering the streets, climbing buildings and jumping from rooftop to rooftop, training his body for what he said was "what is to come". In an act by his family, Eran was commited to an asylum for the mentally diseased, but only after a month-and-a-half-long chase by the authorities and various relatives.
Or that's what he thought... It ends up he was posessed by a parasitic personality, the Hatter, encased in a top-hat he found. This personality used Eran's body to murder his own family and seeks to spread to all Eran encounters.
One night after months of inprisonment, a fire broke out in the asylum; Eran's cell door burned down, he walked to the middle of the holding area, and fell as the ground gave way beneath him, breaking under the weight of the burning building.
Eran awoke in The Dream in his street clothes and top hat, dagger on his ankle and asylum clothing beside him, still smouldering, he quickly learned his blood-taint meant more in this world than he could have imagined.
After meeting Badru and having his hat set on fire, Eran entered a stage where the Hatter took over his body. After more than a month of struggle between the Hatter and the mentally wounded Eran, they struck a deal. Eran has his body back and has almost full control, save for suggustions in the back of his head, and the Hatter gets to spread to those who Eran fights.
A brief and character revealing answer to the question, "What is your ambition?": I guess I just really want to know about this place I'm in and have fun.
