Age: 'bout 5 minutes, give or take a few seconds
Race: Robotic Assault Tank (RAT)
Weight: 8 lbs.
Length: 12" (Edited for clarification: not including tail)
Tail: 6", fuzzy
Hull Design: rodent, four-legged. Looks like a ordinary rat. Well, aside from being bigger and made of metal. [edit ~2-Feb-2002 / 2:40 AM] he looks kinda like this guy: http://www.enature.com/fieldguide/showSpeciesRECNUM.asp?recnum=MA0081 [/edit]
Eyes: Red, glowing.
Ears are forward range finding, not hearing. Ratter's unit class was deemed uncontrollable and dangerous to society. Ratter was the last of the short 2-month production cycle, by that time units like him had taken over major landmasses, causing a war between Vulpar and AI.
His own AI fractal was damaged during construction, removing from him the killing instinct built into most RAT units.
He wants, mostly, to learn. Unfortunately, RAT units are not built for communication with life forms. He can talk and lip read (vulpines easily, others he will have to struggle with), but can't hear or communicate telepathically.
The experiences in his first few minutes of life have scarred him. Of course, if your first and only five minutes had people that your code identified as being friends shooting at you, what would you do?
Small laser, dual (nose-mounted)
Micro needle stinger missiles (tail mounted, what, you thought that fuzz was hair?)
Nucleic disruption cannon (mouth-mounted, short range)
Whiskers: incapacitating opponent in short-range non-lethal combat (tickling)
Any machine he can take control of.
Proximity, gives basic information on surrounding area, 360°
do I really need to explain?
radar, "Ear" based, long range sensing, and targeting.
[edit 1-Apr-2002 (no, this isn't a joke)]
Additional systems installed:
Psionic comm system: 10 meter range, highly adaptive prototype.
Microphone: do I need to explain what this does? Leaves a patch on his head (run a rectangle through the side of his head, producing a cutout) a scaled black instead of smooth silver like the rest of him. Looks like the air vents inside a car, but without the little thing you grab hold of.
