Species/Race: Teron(effectively human), half-Kitsune *changed, no longer able to change to kitsune at will*
Height: About 5'10" (give or take)
Weight: About 140 lbs, but at times negligable when under the influence of his own magic.
Build: Thin, deceptively wiry. If you could see his arm, his muscles would be slightly defined.
Fur/skin Color: he has a very slight tan, but otherwise appears to be of caucasian complexion, with blonde hair.
Eye Color(s): Blue (White when in Paladin form)
Clothing (armor): *organized like equipment*
Head - headband
Neck - metal tag with a simple symbol embossed on it.
Hands - dark cyan gauntlets
Torso- a forest green jacket that has a leather collar and leather on the ends of the sleeves and on the bottom edge of the jacket itself, as well as two leather bands each on the biceps. The material is a heavy cloth, with few folds, but is heavily creased at the elbows and shoulders from wear. All this over a dark colored tee, which is usually blue.
Waist - a belt with a circular buckle with three horizontal slots in it. It is usually worn off-center, so that the buckle is close to his left hip.
Legs - Sea-blue pants, with a strange leather design on the outer legs. To see the specific design, check out my website.
Feet - black boots, with white soles. The white extends higher up on the toe of the boot. The boots themselves are rather bulky, designed to cushion the heavy landings that are sure to occur when in battle.
Occupation/Class: Swordsman/Mage
Affiliations: Vedas generally prefers to be separate from large organizations.
Accessories:
weapon - A katana on his right hip (given to him by Damien Bryce), which broadcasts to other swordsmen that he is left-handed. The sheath is black, and the hilt is a brassy color with red wrapping.
Details: Vedas' katana is sentient. When brandished in battle, its metal sings loudly, with joy and bloodlust. When combat is discussed at length, it tends to clink in Vedas' sheath, loosening itself in eagerness. When Vedas is trying to be stealthy, his subconscious can stifle these little noises.
- A pendant of his family seal under his shirt, which is kind of like an extra battery for his magic. The longer he goes without releasing its stored power, the more powerful that released energy will become. Since Vedas hasn't used this ability since he entered the Dream, the blast will be quite considerable. He rarely shows this pendant to anyone.
- A leather satchel that is not unlike a pocket dimension, as an absurdly large amount of "stuff" can be stored in it.
Pets: Alas, none.
Abilities/Skills & Power Level: Before entering the Dream, Vedas mastered Fire and Light magic, as well as an ancient magic he calls chi. With the help of Kit Chen, he has also unlocked the potential of his kitsune soul. *changed: through disuse, Vedas's kitsune abilities have faltered.*
-Paladin of Light - According to the priests of his own realm, the star Pherris, which represented the primary diety of the realm prior to its disappearance from the night sky, had descended to the earth in the form of a human. Due to Vedas's prowess as a warrior and wizard, rumors that he was Pherris began to spread. Vedas himself is unsure of the truth of these rumors, but prefers to put them out of his mind as fabrication.
Multiple chi spells - chi is "religion" of a seclusive society in Vedas's native realm. Having been trained by one of the elders of its teaching prior to its extinction, Vedas's powers were considered unique by many Terons.
Energy Absorption - Being aligned with Solar has its definite advantages. Vedas recuperates very quickly in bright sunlight, and is immune to wounds caused by fire.
Psionic Mute - Vedas is able to listen in on telepathic speech, but is unable to send such messages.
Half-Kitsune - On a visit to Kai Takahashi's springs, Vedas's soul reacted with the magical waters and grew a kitsune counterpart. Through the influence of the kitsune Kit Chen, Vedas gained the ability to change into a kitsune with seven tails. However, he has recently neglected to use this form and as a result this ability requires more mental effort than Vedas considers it to be worth.
Weaknesses: Vedas's logical weaknesses are Water and Darkness. When he is in a cold environment, his overactive metabolism makes him warm enough to stand it, but a concentrated blast of cold magic will ultimately defeat him if he sticks around to weather it. The same goes for Dark magic, but such a blast would probably trigger Vedas's Paladin form. He is still vulnerable to being cut, shot, beaten, etc., but he is unusually durable.
Special Effects (if any):
English is his second language. His native tongue sounds like a strange mix of Latin, French, and Spanish, flowing and rolling off the tounge. When he speaks, there is a slight accent that most would just dismiss.
Info about chi, an excerpt from Vedas's secret handbook:
"The secret of harnessing one's chi has been passed down or discovered over numerous generations. It involves deep meditation, learning to quiet one's mind until the whisperings of the soul are heard. This state is not unlike Nirvana. Once one can commune with his or her soul, he can command his chi to perform many different magical acts. This often takes practice, and many apprentices must meditate for hours before they can so much as kindle a fire or create light. However, there are some who are gifted. They remain in a state of constant concentration and readiness, and can command the power of their chi at will. The powers of one's chi are limited by will, intention, and imagination..."
Description of Personality: Vedas places the utmost importance on how he makes other people feel. He jumps at chances to prevent the suffering of others, and is largely immune to being called names such as "goody-two-shoes." He likes girls, but feels obligated for some reason not to become involved with anyone. Most of the time he is cheerful and outgoing, but when someone is troubled, he quickly becomes serious.
Brief History:
Vedas was born into a world where blonde people are rare, and therefore either cherished or shunned. Being on the receiving end of both sorts of treatment, Vedas yearned to learn a deeper understanding of the roots of all human thinking. Early in his life, he was a street urchin with few friends, but eventually came to be tutored by an elderly monk of the chi religion, which enlightened him to the path that lead him to where he is now. During an epic battle with a dark wizard, Vedas was pulled into a rift between dimensions and entered the NCD.
Ambition: "To stand up for the things in life that make it worth living."
