Important RP Stuff:
- Unless otherwise noted, Dracaena is in human form by default.
- In certain threads, Dracaena may appear under the names "Dana Crea" or "Dana Carlisle". These are "parallel universe" versions of her, used in threads that the normal Dracaena would have no business being a part of.

Name: Dracaena (pronounced Dra-KEE-nuh), or Drac for short
Age: 63 (looks roughly 25)
Gender: Female
Species/Race: Draconid (Half-human, half ice-dragon)
Height: 5'6" (human), 5'9" (draconid)
Weight: 136 lbs. (human), 259 lbs. (draconid)
Build:
In both forms, Dracaena is very thin and lithe, but with strong legs.
Appearance:
As a human, Dracaena has pale caucasian skin, blue lips, and wild, bright blue hair that hangs down to her shoulderblades.
On a journey back to her homeworld, Dracaena was infected with a techno-virus and became a mindless robot (see "Wave of the Future"). Eventually she recovered her free will, and through a trick of temporal magic she was able to restore her human form to its pre-virus state, but her draconid form remains mechanical. She retains a feminine body shape, with wide hips and thick ventral plates resembling breasts. She is various tints and shades of blue, though her claws are black. Her outer skin consists of layers of plates and looks like steel body armor. She has a soft, black, rubbery layer of skin beneath it, but it is only exposed at points between the various plates of her armor. Her head has a narrow reptilian muzzle, a dense spiny crest, and pointed fins in place of ears. Sharp blades protrude from her elbows. A row of thick dark blue spines runs from the top of her head down her back and along her tail. She stands upright on long digitigrade legs. Each hand has five digits while each foot has only three. She has an enormous pair of wings, each with what looks like a fan installed. Mounted atop each fan is a long tribarreled cannon, which can launch deadly ice-shards at high speeds. Instead of leathery skin in her wings, there are floating constructs of pure mana, which are activated by the spinning of the fan blades. These energy-wings can be used as shields against magic attacks, and they can also slice through various materials.
A large diamond-shaped jewel is embedded in Dracaena's upper chest in draconid form. This is her Manacore, a device which generates the mana (magical energy) that she needs to function. This is her weakest point, and damage dealt to it can be fatal. Still, most weapons can not penetrate it.
Eye Color(s): Milky white, with traces of green
Clothing (armor):
Dracaena has two main outfits. One outfit is a form-fitting black and blue bodysuit with various pieces of armor attached, as seen here:

She also has a few other outfits that are less unorthodox:
Outfit #1
Outfit #2
As a draconid, she does not wear clothes; her human clothing vanishes during transformation and reappears when needed again.
Accessories (weapons, jewelry, tools, magic items, vehicles, etc.): Dracaena owns a very long, thin, retractable sword called Frostfang, which hums eerily when swung and attaches to her back with two small clamps (human form) or is stored in a compartment in her forearm (draconid form).
She also has a Game Boy Advance (given to her by her employer, the Demon Prince Orias), and a jade pendant that prevents her from being poisoned (given to her by her friend and fellow vassal, Ceratrol DeVries).
Wrapped around the back of her head is what looks like a pair of metal headphones with pointed fins that resemble the head-fins of her draconid form. A red gem is embedded in each "phone". This headband is a magic item that was given to her shortly after her second arrival in the Napping Cat's Dream, and it speeds up the rate at which she can cast spells. She typically wears this headband no matter which outfit she has on.
Affiliations: Dracaena is a vassal under Prince Orias Rofocale. Though she has not done any work for him in ages, she still considers herself his vassal.
Pets: While on a journey in the frozen north, Dracaena befriended a tiny bird known as a drifthopper. Fluffy, round, and white, drifthoppers are so named because they spend almost all of their time in snow. Dracaena has named the bird Winglet and keeps it at Orias's castle, where it happily eats insects.
Abilities/Skills & Power Level:
- Polymorphism. Dracaena has a great deal of shapeshifting potential, but she only uses it to switch between her two main forms. Her attempts to change into other forms have only met with failure thus far.
- Ice magic. Dracaena worked as a "coldsmith" for her people by creating weapons and tools from ice and then making them as hard as steel with reinforcement magic. She has a sizable array of ice-items, which she can summon at any time. Her favorite weapons are swords and polearms.
- Reinforcement magic. One of the most basic branches of magic that can be learned in Dracaena's world, reinforcement magic can make items nearly indestructible.
- Temporal magic. Many skilled ice mages dabble in temporal magic, which affects time and space. Dracaena mainly uses this branch of magic to summon her weapons or to open portals to her workshop, but she is also capable of using it in a fight...
- Icewalking. She can walk on ice as easily as she walks on land. To this day no one knows if this is a magical ability or some kind of natural adaptation.
- Physical abilities. In draconid form, she can fly whenever her mana-wings are active, and she can run faster than an ostrich. Though her draconid body appears thin and frail, she has enough strength to lift and throw a car.
Weaknesses: Whereas many dragons thrive in fire, Dracaena hates it. Though she is not as afraid of it as she once was, it is still an effective weapon against her.
Dracaena's draconid form is durable, but it suffers from several common machine weaknesses. Healing magic will not affect her mechanical body, and the nanites within her are slow to repair damage. She can be disabled to varying extents by lightning-based attacks, microwaves, jamming frequencies, and electromagnetic pulses. Someone skilled with technomancy could even take complete control of her.
Special Effects (if any): In draconid form, Dracaena is numb to most sensory input. She can feel pain, but it is usually greatly dulled. An injury sustained in one of her forms does not necessarily carry over to the other; it depends on the nature of the injury.
Also, Dracaena's draconid voice is significantly lower and harsher than her human voice, and it has a metallic tinge. Every now and then, her dragon personality speaks through her human form, and her voice changes accordingly.
In both forms, Dracaena naturally radiates an aura of cold. She normally maintains enough of a distance from people that the aura can be quite comfortable, but touching her for more than a few seconds can result in numbness at best and frostbite at worst.
Description of Personality:
In her human form, Dracaena is a melancholy woman seemingly always in thought. Many of her youthful illusions and ideals have been torn down, and she has become ever more guarded and distant over time. However, she has come to take great pride in her work as a weaponsmith and is always happy to talk about that. She is not the same clumsy, absent-minded girl that entered the Dream so many years ago; however, she still has been known to try and act like her younger self so as not to become alienated from the people who befriended her as a shy and awkward youth.
In her draconid form, she is cold and unfriendly, and in battle she fights with unbridled savagery. As much as she does not want to admit it, her brief time spent as a combat automaton has had an indelible effect on her thought processes.
Brief History:
Dracaena was Princess of the ice-continent of Takhesis, in the dragon-dominated world of Archosauria. Filled with megalomaniacal ambitions, the arrogant young ice-dragon wanted nothing more than to usurp her father and eventually rule the planet. Using planar magic, she took a vacation of sorts to the planet Earth. There, she was filled with ideas on how to gain power in her own world. When she returned to Archosauria, she drummed up a great deal of support to introduce democracy to the dragon realm. Her plan did not get far, however; she greatly underestimated the monarchy's response to her campaign. She was arrested, put on trial, and convicted of sedition. The typical punishment for sedition was exile, but as an additional insult, the Dragon King had his Court-Magus seal Dracaena into the form of a human.
The human Dracaena was cast into the faraway world of the Napping Cat's Dream, and her personality was vastly altered as a result of her transformation. Her cold draconic side was pushed into a state of suppression, replaced by a shy but good-natured human side that could never have imagined trying to take over a world. Eventually, Dracaena was able to revisit Archosauria, and it was around that time that the seal on her - which was never intended to be permanent - wore off. Just when it seemed as though Dracaena's evil side would resurge, her two halves came to an impromptu agreement...and when the seal finally broke, the release of magical energy mutated Dracaena's dragon form, putting it somewhere between human and dragon...or "draconid" as the dragons call it. Dracaena's dark side has never again resurfaced, and she is quite happy for that.
Also during her return home, Dracaena became infected with a nanotechnological virus known as the Steel Plague, which turned her into a machine. When the Plague's controller was destroyed, Dracaena regained her free will, and with a bit of temporal magic she was able to restore her human form to flesh and blood. However, an attempt to cure her draconid form only resulted in the loss of large portions of her memory.
After staying in the Dream for a while more, Dracaena began to feel a certain homesickness once again...or perhaps, merely alienation from the people of the Dream. Knowing that her own people were locked in a war with their enemies, the phoenixes, Dracaena took a second journey home and stayed there for forty years. For thirty-four of those years, she fought bravely in the war and eventually became the official weaponsmith for her ice-dragon clan, as her conjured weapons were said to be of exquisite quality. After the war ended, she settled down and fell in love with a human woman named Alexessandra Reislin, while continuing to create weapons for collectors across the world. Unfortunately, just four years after marrying Alexessandra, Dracaena was the victim of an assassination attempt by a rival weapon-maker, and though she survived, she was in a coma for two years. When she awoke, she was horrified to find that her wife had married someone else. Devastated, Dracaena ran away to the Dream once more, finding that though forty years had passed for her, only a week had passed in the Dream.
And that brings us to the present...

A brief and character revealing answer to the question, “What is your ambition?”: "To let bygones be bygones."
