Senior Fleet Lt. Myra said:
Since Frank would have to lift Myra's skirt to get at her injury, he's not necessarily going to be terribly well liked at the moment. If he persists, he might be surprised. While the wound itself is pretty much what you'd expect from a rifle bullet, and there's a considerable amount of blood on her leg (and her skirt), the wound itself doesn't appear to be bleeding. It's like something in her system has acted to stop the bleeding (which is, in fact, exactly what her med implants have done.)
Myra blushes and looks annoyed as he starts pawing her leg under her skirt. "That really is not necessary right now, I will be all right, you know. Besides, we need to be moving, not standing here waiting for the Zealots to find their nerve again."
She considers his question about their route of travel. "I am not sure that would be the best choice. Moving under cover might give us a better chance of not meeting resistance, and if we do run into something in the alley, it would be better to have the route we escape into offer more room to maneuver, not less."
"Look, if there's a bullet lodged in your leg, it can get infected, and you'll move quicker without it in there, so grow up and let me get a look at that wound."
He goes to keep working while still talking. (You keep your mind on another pressing concern, your hands run on auto-pilot.) "Besides, if we move through the back alleys, we are going to get cornered and only have the main street to run to, probaby attacked because we caught the scouts from a larger force coming down the main street. If we can see them coming we know when to set traps, or have the fire-fur torch everything infront of us."
He looked up with a disparaging expression, no matter what Myra's reaction to his offer of treatment. "Besides, your not that hot, that I'm willing to risk my life just to feel you up."
By this point he'd be done with her, no matter what. (The "hot" stuff wasn't his usual vocabulary, however he'd picked up stuff from his sisters and their friends over the years.)
