Never one to pass by without acknowledging the geetings of friends (particularly of those who are rendering such important assistance to the restoration) the silver kitsune returns the Dreamspinners' wave with a warm smile and respectful nod of her head as she passes by. "If you happen to see my servant, who is likely to arrive shortly, please let her know I have gone inside and would like her to join me" the comely kitsune chirrs, oblivious to the ordeal through which Tatiana has been put, unaware she may be in distress, and thus unwilling to forego the dinner invitation to search for her - yet.Magnus' inadvertently creative and utterly unexpected disarming of the trap Ralma had set for her might in other circumstances have elicited a giggle from the elder kitsune however no such reaction was forthcoming during a semi-formal visit or at least not overtly.
No sooner had the ladyfox crossed the threshold to the Faustus home in order to fulfill her long-intended promise to attend a meal with the family mindsent messages, some clearer than others, fill the kitsune's mind with the telepathic equivalent of 1940-era RAF radio traffic during a dogfight. Overheard partly through the ladyfox's own abilities and partly owing to The Bond between Lady Marianne's mind and that of her Lifemate, the messages are eavesdropped quietly upon without comment either to the originators or to her present company at first. Once it becomes abundantly clear even the powerful guardians to whom she has entrusted the protection of the shrine and its inhabitants have their paws full, the ladyfox begins to worry enough to cause her radiant smile to waver ever-so-slightly while greeting Gunnar and Celine. The distressed yelp from Starchaser coupled with the adrupt end to Snarf's messages are the last straw: whatever the consequences may be, etiquette and potential loss of face must take a back seat to concern over the shrine and more importantly the well-being of her friends and family.
I do hope I shan't live to regret this she thinks to herself, torn between hoping she and the others at the shrine are not shamed because she will have overreacted to the situation versus the hope that somehow things are not nearly as bad as they presently seem (paradoxilcally meaning she would be overreacting). After inwardly taking the mental equivalent of a deep breath the elder kitsune - who had only just seated herself at the dinner table - rises anew, her head bowed, ears drooping slightly, delicate paws clasped to her front as she makes her announcement.
"It is with deepest regret and most sincere apologies I must interrupt this long-awaited occasion however I have received tidings the shrine is under attack and its defenders in sufficient danger that I should immediately return to aid them," she softly murrs. "To this end I humbly request the assistance of whomever can be spared without rendering your own defences ineffective and do promise in return that at the earliest possible time thereafter this meal shall be returned to lest it go to waste." Knowing full well that if the campsite is in a shambles or its inhabitants otherwise unable to prepare food that the banquet would under such circumstances prove very welcome indeed.
[OOC]: as FaustusPG is currently incommunicado at the time of this writing the following is conditional upon their approval thereof.
"Please do keep an eye out for my servant Tatiana," the silver kitsune chirrs to those who are remaining at the house to aid in its defence as necessary. "I am afraid there will be little enough time for me to prepare everything therefore I would also ask that you advise the Dreamspinners of the situation: I do not doubt they and their vessel will lend wieght to your defences.
((Rhiann)) Lady Marianne asks through The Bond their minds share. ((Help is coming: please do keep watch over what is occurring and show me whenever possible - but I ask you not to risk yourself overly... especially on this of all nights.)) While it is obvious to her lifemate Mariko had a touch of trouble with that last part it cannot be said that the kitsune is entirely unhappy with regards to those particular plans.
To those who have volunteered and/or been indicated by the two elders of the Faustus family as being available to help, the ladyfox murrs "As time is of the essence and also happens to be a speciality of mine I shall expedite our arrival at the shrine. It is vital we do not waste time in determining where and when we are most needed, which is why I have asked the help of our winged allies through my lifemate. Here is what we will do ..."

The great Oscar Wilde once described the classic English Fox Hunt as being "The unspeakable in full pursuit of the inedible."
