It's a quiet little corner of AnyCity, where a new restaurant is just opening it's doors. Those that knew the place might remember a run of the mill pizzeria being there. Rumors say an equine woman, bought the shop for some sparkly gems.
The restaurant is so new, it does not even have a name yet. But a small black feline with a tail tuft and long droopy ears is about to change that. With a bucket of black paint in one hand and a brush in the other, the girl steps on the sidewalk in front of the shop. A big ball water seems to have had it with gravity and hovers next to her.
Eyeing up the blank space above the entrance, she thinks about what to write.
While she is pondering another, smaller creature exits the building. He couldn't be more different from the girl. Where her fur spots mostly gray and black, his coat is pure white with rainbow colored scales on belly and legs as well as similar colored feathers on tail and neck. Also he walks on all four and has delicate butterfly wings. The only common thing they seem to have is a patch of differently colored fur around one eye. "What are you doing?"
"Deciding how to call our little shop... what do think about 'Sweet Heaven'?" "Sounds familiar. Is this not the name of the shop in the big building you often buy candy?
"Oh... you're right. Then...I'll call it... um... oh I know!" she says aloud. With but a subconscious thought the hovering water ball springs to life and lands in front of the feline, where it flattens to a block small enough to step on.
As soon as she stands on it, the form of the water changes again and turns into a slender column, that raises her up to the board.
There she dips the brush into the bucket and begins to write.
THE ROTTEN TOOTH
After she is done, the water column descends with it's passenger and turns into a ball again. "What d'ya think?" "I like the lines. Especially the thick, wobbly one over there that does not fit with the others."
"No, I meant the name... oh wait. You still can't read can you?" "No."
"It means. The rotten tooth." "I see. Is rotten not something rather... unpleasant?"
"Well... technically yes. But here I mean it in a humorous manner." "I see. You only want to attract humorous people then?"
"Yes, I mean no! I want everybody that likes sugary things to come here." "Perhaps you should have said that in the sign then."
"Um... never mind. I'll change the sign when nobody comes."
Giggling slightly, the girls vanishes inside for a moment and reappears with a street sign in her hand. "Although, I have never seen people resist something that's for free."
The sign says:
Today big opening of Lou's Pizzeria The Rotten Tooth. Everything is free today.
"Now hurry up. I'll do the cooking and you do the customer stuff." "Like what?"
"Like, taking their order and tell me. And when the food is ready you bring it to them." "I like food. This should be fun."
