Following posted instructions, David eventually finds himself at the open door of an apartment. "Huh.. must be open.." he mutters, sticking his head in to see who's around. Nobody. Right. So, further in.
And there's this big 'ol portal in the middle of the room, somewhat transparent to David's eyes, showing a scene some distance away. "Well [censored]" he grumbles, glaring at the opening, brow furrowing furiously.
Somewhere in the grey goopy recesses of his mind, neurons fire, networks trigger, and David tries to believe what he knows to be a lie. Standing before the portal, he sets his jaw and closes his eyes, then steps forward, through the portal.
Opening his eyes, he sees... Tizak's apartment, from a perspective one pace away from his original one. "Bugger" grunts David, walking around to his starting point and glowering even more fiercely. His whole body tenses as he tries to doublethink himself into a serious delusion, he takes a breath, and steps into the doorway... into Tizak's apartment.
Shooting the portal a really, really dirty look, David considers giving it another try, but realizes he's much too annoyed and frustrated to have any success. Instead pulling out his sketchpad, taking as good a look as he can at the scene depicted through the gateway, and drawing it in pretty good detail. "Right, then... interesting way to start a job interview..."
As he leaves the apartment, he puts the sketchpad away, buttons up his riding leathers, and, outside, pulls his helmet off his Harley and saddles up. Making sure the large German Shepherd in the sidecar is settled in properly and given a good earscratch, he kicks the bike to life and motors off shoreward, looking for the site.
